| ○ | Article | CX3CR1+ macrophages interact with hepatic stellate cells to promote hepatocellular carcinoma through CD8+ T cell suppression | Background and Aims: Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) contribute to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression by regulating multiple factors. However, the entire immunoregulatory functions of HSCs are still obscure. Here, we aim to investigate whether HSCs impose CX3CR1+ macrophages to pro-tumorigenic properties in the peritumoral area. Approach and Results: In single cell RNA-sequencing analysis of HCC patients, a subpopulation of macrophages specifically expressed Arg1 and Cx3cr1 in the peritumoral area, and were highly enriched with retinol metabolism-related genes. Flow cytometry analysis showed significantly increased frequencies of CD14+CD11b+HLA-DR‒ macrophages with CX3CR1 in the HCC adjacent region where α-SMA-expressing activated HSCs (aHSCs) showed co-localized expression of CX3CL1. Accordingly, in tumor-bearing mice, Cx3cl1 mRNA expression was notably increased in aHSCs within the adjacent HCC, where infiltration of CX3CR1+Ly6C+ macrophages was mostly observed with decreased CD8+ T cells. In adoptive transfer and in vitro co-culture of myeloid cells, we demonstrated that CX3CR1+Ly6C+ macrophages migrated and highly expressed arginase-1 by interacting with retinoid-enriched aHSCs in the adjacent HCC. Direct treatment of retinoids or co-culturing with retinol-storing mouse aHSCs or human LX-2 cells significantly increased arginase-1 expression in CX3CR1+Ly6C+ macrophages and human blood CD14+ cells, leading to the suppression of CD8+ T cell proliferation. Moreover, genetic deficiency of CX3CR1 in myeloid cells or pharmacological inhibition of retinol metabolism remarkably attenuated HCC development. Conclusion: We showed that CX3CR1+Ly6C+ macrophages migrate and interact with aHSCs in the peritumoral region where retinoids induce arginase-1 expression in CX3CR1+Ly6C+ macrophages, subsequently depriving CD8+ T cells of arginine and promoting HCC. | ○ | ○ | Article | Novel Automatic Current Balancing of Two-Phase Isolated Buck-Boost Converters | This article presents a family of the two-phase isolated buck-boost dc-dc converter with an automatic current balancing feature inhering from the series-capacitor (SC) high conversion ratio converter. The current of each module is automatically well-balanced regardless of the gate signals mismatch and different characteristics of the semiconductor switches utilized in the proposed converter. In addition, the SC combined with the two-phase current-fed full-bridge converter is typically analyzed in this study. To further enhance the reliability, the proposed converter with clamping voltage overshoot action is introduced. Moreover, the design parameters, equivalent circuits, switching schemes, and operation modes of the proposed dc-dc converter are described in detail. The current balancing principle of the two inductor currents in the designed converter is also explained. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed converter is analyzed in PSIM simulation. Lastly, a hardware prototype with a rated power of 2 kW was built and tested in different operating conditions to validate the analysis and effectiveness of the presented converter. | Nguyen, Tien-The; Thao, Nguyen Gia Minh; Bui, Van-Dai; Cha, Honnyong | Wayne State Univ, Coll Engn, Dept Elect & Comp Engn, Detroit, MI 48202 USA; Shimane Univ, Dept Mech Elect & Elect Engn, Matsue 6908504, Japan; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Energy Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | ; BUI, VAN-DAI/AAE-6202-2022; Nguyen, Tien/ABX-3214-2022; Bui, Van-Dai/AAE-6202-2022 | 59454647000; 55903864900; 57221961296; 24450248400 | nguyenthetien93@ieee.org;nguyenthao@ecs.shimane-u.ac.jp;buidai@ieee.org;chahonny@knu.ac.kr; | IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS | IEEE T IND ELECTRON | 0278-0046 | 1557-9948 | 71 | 9 | SCIE | AUTOMATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS;ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC;INSTRUMENTS & INSTRUMENTATION | 2024 | 7.2 | 4.4 | 1.4 | 2025-05-07 | 5 | 4 | Buck-boost; current balancing; dc-dc con-verter; isolated current-fed; series-capacitor (SC); two-phase | DC-DC CONVERTER; VOLTAGE RANGE | Buck-boost; current balancing; dcâ€Â"dc converter; isolated current-fed; series-capacitor (SC); two-phase | Boost converter; Buck-Boost converter; Electric current regulators; Voltage regulators; Buck-boost; Current balancing; Current fed; DC converter; Dc/dc converters; Inductor; Isolated current-feed; Series capacitors; Series-capacitor; Two phase; Equivalent circuits | English | 2024 | 2024-09 | 10.1109/tie.2023.3340218 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Optimal Design of LCC Resonant Converter With Phase Shift Control for Wide Input/Output Voltage Ranges in Fuel Cell System | This article proposes an optimal design of an LCC resonant converter with a phase shift control for a fuel cell system that has wide input and output voltage ranges. The proposed optimal design focuses on the circulating energy minimization by adjusting the transformer turns ratio according to the maximum gain of resonant tank. This makes the root mean square value of resonant current and turn-off current stationary even though the resonant tank change. Thus, designers can select resonant tank optimized for the converter specifications without considering the conduction and switching losses. By the proposed optimal design, the efficiency degradation at worst case, which is a significant issue of the fuel cell system with wide output voltage range, can be minimized. In addition, for the fuel cell converter with wide input voltage range, a phase shift control that operates the full-bridge inverter with a constant effective duty cycle according to the fuel cell voltage is proposed. This control scheme improves the light-load efficiency without deteriorating the rated-load efficiency by reducing the circulating current and switching frequency. The validity of the proposed works is confirmed by experimental results of the 30-kW LCC resonant converter. | Son, Seong-Ho; Kwon, Chang-Hyun; Kim, Tae-Hyun; Yu, Chan-Hun; Jang, Sung-Roc; Kim, Eun-Seok; Kim, Hyoung-Suk | Univ Sci & Technol, Dept Energy & Power Convers Engn, Daejeon 34113, South Korea; Korea Electrotechnol Res Inst, Electrophys Res Ctr, Chang Won 51543, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Energy Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Ehwa Technol Informat, Gwangju 12812, South Korea | ; Shon, Seongho/LOI-5826-2024; Kim, Tae/AAV-5521-2020; Kim, Tae/C-5935-2015 | 57219842388; 57825562900; 57219837559; 57190813654; 26422309700; 58302959300; 58740330300 | shson95@ust.ac.kr;kch5725@keri.re.kr;appleigig@keri.re.kr;chyu@keri.re.kr;scion10@keri.re.kr;seok@eti21.com;khs@keri.re.kr; | IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS | IEEE T IND ELECTRON | 0278-0046 | 1557-9948 | 71 | 4 | SCIE | AUTOMATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS;ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC;INSTRUMENTS & INSTRUMENTATION | 2024 | 7.2 | 4.4 | 3.16 | 2025-05-07 | 7 | 12 | Fuel cells; high-power resonant converter; LCC resonant converter | CONTROL STRATEGY; PARALLEL; APPROXIMATION; CHARGER; MODE | Fuel cells; high-power resonant converter; LCC resonant converter | DC-DC converters; Electric inverters; Optimal systems; Phase control; Secondary batteries; Standby power systems; Battery; DC/DC power converters; High power; High power resonant converter; LCC resonant converter; Optimal design; Output-voltage ranges; Phase shift control; Resonant converters; Fuel cells | English | 2024 | 2024-04 | 10.1109/tie.2023.3279549 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |

| ○ | ○ | Article | Solid State Pulsed Power Modulator With High Repetition Rate and Short Pulse Width for High-Speed Pulsed Lasers | This article proposes a modular pulsed power modulator (PPM) with a short pulse width and high repetition rate for pulsed lasers. The presented PPM is based on the modular structure to use semiconductor switches with low voltage ratings since these switches have fast switching speed, which is an essential requirement to generate short pulses. In addition, to make a short gate signal which is also needed to generate short pulses, a gate driver circuit that applies positive and negative voltages asymmetrically is proposed. Moreover, a heatsink structure to minimize the parasitic capacitances is presented for the high repetition rate. Furthermore, a dc-dc converter for the modular PPM is developed, which connects transformers in parallel at the primary side to achieve voltage balance without any compensation circuit. Experimental results from a 5 kV PPM with the pulse width below 20 ns and repetition rate of 1 MHz are presented to verify the proposed works. | Yu, Chanhun; Kim, Hyoungsuk; Jang, Sungroc; Kim, Taehyun; Son, Seongho; Kwon, Changhyun; Cha, Honnyong | Korea Elect Res Inst KERI, Electrophys Res Ctr, Chang Won 51543, South Korea; Univ Sci & Technol UST, Dept Energy & Power Convers Engn, Daejeon 34113, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Energy Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | ; Kim, Tae/C-5935-2015; Kim, Tae/AAV-5521-2020; Shon, Seongho/LOI-5826-2024 | 57190813654; 58740330300; 26422309700; 57219837559; 57219842388; 57825562900; 24450248400 | chyu@keri.re.kr;khs@keri.re.kr;scion10@keri.re.kr;appleigig@keri.re.kr;shson95@keri.re.kr;kch5725@keri.re.kr;chahonny@knu.ac.kr; | IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS | IEEE T IND ELECTRON | 0278-0046 | 1557-9948 | 71 | 1 | SCIE | AUTOMATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS;ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC;INSTRUMENTS & INSTRUMENTATION | 2024 | 7.2 | 4.4 | 3.12 | 2025-04-16 | 8 | 9 | High repetition rate; pulsed power modulator (PPM); short pulse width | RESONANT CONVERTERS; COMPACT; DESIGN; GENERATOR | High repetition rate; pulsed power modulator (PPM); short pulse width | Capacitance; DC transformers; DC-DC converters; Electric inverters; High frequency transformers; Logic gates; MOSFET devices; Pulse repetition rate; Pulsed lasers; Semiconductor lasers; Gate drivers; High repetition rate; High voltage techniques; Modulars; MOS-FET; MOSFETs; Power modulators; Pulsed power modulator; Pulsed-power; Short pulse width; Silicon carbide | English | 2024 | 2024-01 | 10.1109/tie.2023.3241247 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Switching Cell Current Source Inverter With Active Power Decoupling Circuit | This article proposes a single-phase current source inverter (CSI) that uses active power decoupling (APD) technique. The proposed CSI attenuates an undesirable low-frequency ripple power transferred from ac side and has a dc-link inductor with small inductance. In addition, it implements the switching cell structure to minimize overlap-time and eliminate arm-open problem, thus improving quality of output waveforms. It is easy to implement control scheme because the APD circuit is controlled independently of the output side. | ○ | Article | Climate-driven redox changes in the southern Scotia Sea over the last 35 kyr: Insights from sedimentary sulfur isotope | Reconstructing sedimentary redox history provides valuable insights into for understanding of paleoceanographic/paleoclimatic changes in the climatically sensitive Southern Ocean. However, our comprehension of the spatial variations in historical redox changes and the driving forces in the Southern Ocean, especially the Antarctic Zone, remains incomplete. Here, we present detailed sedimentary records of the redox state (i.e., sulfur isotopes), bottom-water oxygenation conditions (i.e., redox-sensitive metals), export production (i.e., 230Thnormalized biogenic opal and barium), and carbon burial flux over the last -35 kyr in the Protector Basin, the deepest basin of the southern Scotia Sea. The studied sediment record in this basin reveals significant variations in geochemical redox proxies throughout the glacial (MIS 2)-interglacial (MIS 1) period, featuring a significant 34S depletion of up to -40 parts per thousand relative to seawater sulfate and a noticeable increase in ERMo/ERU ratio in interglacial sediments. These findings highlight a significant shift in bottom-water and/or sediment oxygenation from glacial oxic to interglacial anoxic/euxinic conditions, primarily driven by climate-induced changes in biogenic productivity, rather than the deep circulation and ventilation dynamics previously emphasized in the Antarctic Zone. Signs of the climate-driven redox change are also evident in two millennial-scale cold events (-9-8 ka and -3-2 ka), marked by sudden shifts toward oxic conditions. Importantly, our results reveal a contrasting scenario to previous observations in the glacial-interglacial redox history within the Antarctic Zone, signifying spatial disparity in bottom-water and sediment redox chemistry. | Kim, Jihun; Lim, Dhongil; Jeong, Dohyun; Kim, Intae; Kim, Haryun; Chang, Tae Soo; Yoo, Kyu-cheul; Xu, Zhaokai | Korea Inst Ocean Sci & Technol, South Sea Res Inst, Geoje 53201, South Korea; Univ Sci & Technol, Daejeon 34113, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Geol, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Korea Polar Res Inst, Incheon 21990, South Korea; Chinese Acad Sci, Inst Oceanol, CAS Key Lab Marine Geol & Environm, Qingdao 266071, Peoples R China; Laoshan Lab, Lab Marine Geol, Qingdao 266061, Peoples R China; Chinese Acad Sci, Ctr Ocean Mega Sci, Qingdao 266071, Peoples R China; CAS Ctr Excellence Quaternary Sci & Global Change, Xian 710061, Peoples R China | oceanlim@kiost.ac.kr;zhaokaixu@qdio.ac.cn; | PALAEOGEOGRAPHY PALAEOCLIMATOLOGY PALAEOECOLOGY | PALAEOGEOGR PALAEOCL | 0031-0182 | 1872-616X | 639 | SCIE | GEOGRAPHY, PHYSICAL;GEOSCIENCES, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;PALEONTOLOGY | 2024 | 2.7 | 4.5 | 1 | Redox history; Sedimentary sulfur isotope; Metals; Productivity; Scotia Sea | GLACIAL-INTERGLACIAL CHANGES; SULFATE REDUCTION; ATMOSPHERIC CO2; ANTARCTIC PENINSULA; BIOGENIC BARIUM; BOTTOM-WATER; SURFACE-TEMPERATURE; OCEAN OXYGENATION; EXPORT PRODUCTION; HOLOCENE CLIMATE | English | 2024 | 2024-04-01 | 10.1016/j.palaeo.2024.112086 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Dispersant-Free Colloidal and Interfacial Engineering of Si-Nanocarbon Hybrid Anode Materials for High-Performance Li-Ion Batteries | Highly conducting nanomaterials have garnered significant attention owing to their potential application in Li-ion batteries for stable electrodes. However, concerns persist regarding their dispersion and effective hybridization with active materials. This study reports a novel approach to enhance Si-based anode materials using less defective graphene oxide (C-GO) and highly oxidized single-walled carbon nanotubes (C-SWCNTs) fabricated using chlorate-based oxidation. The method involves encapsulating Si alloy (SiA) particles with C-GO and C-SWCNTs, eliminating the need for additional additives. Composite structures with lithiophilic N-doped SWCNTs and highly crystalline reduced C-GO coatings on SiA surfaces are created through spray drying and subsequent chemical reduction. This unique combination yields high capacities, stable retention behaviors, and remarkable initial capacities (1224 mAh g-1) with excellent retention rates (82.3% at 100 cycles, 0.1 C). A LIB full-cell with a SiA/nanocarbon anode exhibited a high energy density of 350 Wh kg-1, while maintaining 65% capacity retention after 200 cycles. The findings demonstrate the potential of this hybrid approach, which eliminates the need for other conducting additives while maintaining a minimal binder content (5 wt.%). This study presents a promising approach for enhancing Si-based anode materials in lithium-ion batteries, addressing the dispersion and hybridization challenges in nanomaterial-enabled electrode design. Dispersant-free colloidal and interfacial engineering of Si-nanocarbon hybrid anode materials for high-performance Li-ion batteries Si-based anode materials performance in lithium-ion batteries is enhanced through the synergistic effects of less defective graphene oxide and highly oxidized single-walled carbon nanotubes. Lithiophilic reduced C-SWCNTs featuring N atoms and highly crystalline reduced C-GO coatings on Si alloy exhibited enhanced initial capacities and retention rates without adding additional conducting additives in Li-ion batteries with minimal binder content.image | Lee, Do Geun; Cho, Joon Young; Kim, Jung Hoon; Ryoo, Gyeongbeom; Yoon, Jihee; Jo, Ajeong; Lee, Min Ho; Park, Jong Hwan; Yoo, Jung-Keun; Lee, Dong Yun; Choi, Jeong-Hee; Han, Joong Tark | Korea Electrotechnol Res Inst KERI, Nano Hybrid Technol Res Ctr, Elect Mat Res Div, Chang Won 51543, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Polymer Sci & Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Korea Inst Mat Sci KIMS, Carbon Composite Dept, Chang Won 51508, South Korea; Korea Electrotechnol Res Inst KERI, Battery Res Div, Chang Won 51543, South Korea; Univ Sci & Technol UST, Dept Electrofunct Mat Engn, Chang Won 51543, South Korea; Univ Sci & Technol UST, Adv Mat Engn Div, Chang Won 51508, South Korea | Park, Jong Hwan/LYO-8040-2024 | 57222321363; 57193489420; 55670927800; 57449611400; 58247519200; 57223216506; 59010461100; 35201505600; 49561920600; 57211001605; 57199098838; 8600333500 | dongyunlee@knu.ac.kr;dodgers@keri.re.kr;jthan@keri.re.kr;dodgers@keri.re.krl; | ADVANCED FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS | ADV FUNCT MATER | 1616-301X | 1616-3028 | 34 | 13 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;CHEMISTRY, PHYSICAL;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;NANOSCIENCE & NANOTECHNOLOGY;PHYSICS, APPLIED;PHYSICS, CONDENSED MATTER | 2024 | 19 | 4.5 | 6.22 | 2025-05-07 | 16 | 24 | anodes; dispersant-free; graphene oxide; hybridization; Li-ion batteries; N-doping; single-walled carbon nanotubes | NITROGEN-DOPED GRAPHENE; LITHIUM-STORAGE; HIGH-CAPACITY; SILICON; OXIDE; COMPOSITES; NETWORK | anodes; dispersant-free; graphene oxide; hybridization; Li-ion batteries; N-doping; single-walled carbon nanotubes | Composite coatings; Doping (additives); Graphene; Hybrid materials; Ions; Lithium-ion batteries; Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCN); Sols; Anode material; Dispersant-free; Dispersants; Graphene oxides; Hybridisation; N-Doping; Nanocarbons; Si alloys; Single-walled carbon; Single-walled carbon nanotube; Anodes | English | 2024 | 2024-03 | 10.1002/adfm.202311353 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Dual Synapses and Security Devices from Ternary C60-Pentacene-TiO2-x Nanorods Heterostructures | In the context of information explosion, neuromorphic and hardware-based security devices have garnered significant attention for their capacity to facilitate parallel computing and not be vulnerable to hacking, respectively. A demonstration of a dual photosynaptic (DPS) and physically unclonable function (PUF) devices characterized by ternary TiO2-x nanorods (NRs)/Pentacene/C-60 heterostructure are simultaneously presented. For the DPS device, the ternary heterostructure leads to parallel-operating DPS characteristics: i) wavelength-dependent (WD) synapse and ii) stimulus-moment-dependent (SMD) synapse. Each synaptic characteristic demonstrates a remarkable degree of plasticity, which signifies a smooth transition from short-term potentiation (STP) to long-term potentiation (LTP). Moreover, The face recognition assessments have unveiled recognition rates of 83.3% for 2 operational modes. Notably, the DPS device maintains stable performance on the business card, even after a rigorous 49-day testing period and undergoing 1 000 bending cycles. Regarding the PUF device, the security keys with unique patterns are created due to random current distribution induced by placement-dependent doping effects of SnO2 quantum dots (QDs). Moreover, near-ideal inter-hamming distances (inter-HDs), uniformities, and entropies are verified for all cryptographic keys. These findings introduce a pioneering concept of photonic synapses with their successful integration onto various substrates, including the hardware-based security PUF device. | Jeon, Yunchae; Lee, Gyeongho; Kim, Yeong Jae; Jang, Byung Chul; Yoo, Hocheon | Gachon Univ, Dept Elect Engn, 1342 Seongnam Daero, Seongnam 13120, South Korea; Korea Inst Ceram Engn & Technol, Ceram Total Solut Ctr, 3321 Gyeongchung Daero, Icheon 17303, South Korea; Korea Univ, Dept Mat Sci & Engn, 145 Anam Ro, Seoul 02841, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect & Elect Engn, 80 Daehakro, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Gachon Univ, Dept Semicond Engn, 1342 Seongnam Daero, Seongnam 13120, South Korea | Jang, Byung Chul/GYV-0656-2022; Yoo, Hocheon/ABZ-6637-2022 | 58044594500; 58895918300; 57830611600; 9238827900; 56637576900 | bc.jang@knu.ac.kr;hyoo@gachon.ac.kr; | ADVANCED FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS | ADV FUNCT MATER | 1616-301X | 1616-3028 | 34 | 48 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;CHEMISTRY, PHYSICAL;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;NANOSCIENCE & NANOTECHNOLOGY;PHYSICS, APPLIED;PHYSICS, CONDENSED MATTER | 2024 | 19 | 4.5 | 0.57 | 2025-05-07 | 3 | 3 | dual photosynapse; organic materials; paper electronics; physically unclonable function; titanium dioxide | SYNAPTIC TRANSISTOR; MODULATION | dual photosynapse; organic materials; paper electronics; physically unclonable function; titanium dioxide | Biometrics; Face recognition; Hamming distance; Nanorods; Personal computing; Semiconductor quantum dots; C 60; Dual photosynapse; Information explosion; Neuromorphic; Organic materials; Paper electronics; Parallel com- puting; Pentacenes; Physically unclonable functions; Security devices; Titanium dioxide | English | 2024 | 2024-11 | 10.1002/adfm.202409578 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | ERRγ-inducible FGF23 promotes alcoholic liver injury through enhancing CYP2E1 mediated hepatic oxidative stress | Fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) is a member of endocrine FGF family, along with FGF15/19 and FGF21. Recent reports showed that under pathological conditions, liver produces FGF23, although the role of hepatic FGF23 remains nebulous. Here, we investigated the role of hepatic FGF23 in alcoholic liver disease (ALD) and delineated the underlying molecular mechanism. FGF23 expression was compared in livers from alcoholic hepatitis patients and healthy controls. The role of FGF23 was examined in hepatocyte-specific knock-out (LKO) mice of cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1R), estrogen related receptor gamma (ERR gamma), or FGF23. Animals were fed with an alcohol-containing liquid diet alone or in combination with ERR gamma inverse agonist. FGF23 is mainly expressed in hepatocytes in the human liver, and it is upregulated in ALD patients. In mice, chronic alcohol feeding leads to liver damage and induced FGF23 in liver, but not in other organs. FGF23 is transcriptionally regulated by ERR gamma in response to alcohol-mediated activation of the CB1R. Alcohol induced upregulation of hepatic FGF23 and plasma FGF23 levels is lost in ERR gamma-LKO mice, and an inverse agonist mediated inhibition of ERR gamma transactivation significantly improved alcoholic liver damage. Moreover, hepatic CYP2E1 induction in response to alcohol is FGF23 dependent. In line, FGF23-LKO mice display decreased hepatic CYP2E1 expression and improved ALD through reduced hepatocyte apoptosis and oxidative stress. We recognized CBIR-ERR gamma-FGF23 axis in facilitating ALD pathology through hepatic CYP2E1 induction. Thus, we propose FGF23 as a potential therapeutic target to treat ALD. | Jung, Yoon Seok; Radhakrishnan, Kamalakannan; Hammad, Seddik; Mueller, Sebastian; Mueller, Johannes; Noh, Jung-Ran; Kim, Jina; Lee, In-Kyu; Cho, Sung Jin; Kim, Don-Kyu; Kim, Yong-Hoon; Lee, Chul-Ho; Dooley, Steven; Choi, Hueng-Sik | Chonnam Natl Univ, Host derived Antiviral Res Ctr, Sch Biol Sci & Technol, Gwangju 61186, South Korea; Heidelberg Univ, Med Fac Mannheim, Mol Hepatol Sect, Theodor-Kutzer Ufer 1-3,H42,Floor 4, D-68167 Mannheim, Germany; South Valley Univ, Fac Vet Med, Dept Forens Med & Vet Toxicol, Qena 83523, Egypt; Heidelberg Univ, Ctr Alcohol Res CAR, Neuenheimer Feld 350, D-69120 Heidelberg, Germany; Korea Univ Sci & Technol UST, KRIBB Sch Biosci, Dept Funct Genom, Daejeon 34113, South Korea; Daegu Gyeongbuk Med Innovat Fdn, New Drug Dev Ctr, Daegu 41061, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Internal Med, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Res Inst Aging & Metab, Daegu 41940, South Korea; Brain Sci Inst, Korea Inst Sci & Technol KIST, Ctr Brain Disorders, Seoul 02792, South Korea; Chonnam Natl Univ, Host derived Antiviral Res Ctr, Dept Integrat Food Biosci & Biotechnol, Gwangju 61186, South Korea; Korea Res Inst Biosci & Biotechnol, Lab Anim Resource Ctr, 125 Gwahak Ro, Daejeon 34141, South Korea; Korea Res Inst Biosci & Biotechnol, 125 Gwahak Ro, Daejeon 34141, South Korea; Chonnam Natl Univ, Gwangju 61186, South Korea | Hammad, Seddik/J-7342-2019; Radhakrishnan, Kamalakannan/HNP-0477-2023; Dooley, Steven/T-6491-2018; Lee, Chul-Ho/MBV-8603-2025; Jung, Yoon/B-8512-2011 | 57203348590; 57217673988; 36058896300; 57225929540; 59662802100; 35077764600; 56949261900; 36071537600; 58735369700; 37081358700; 57210989406; 56223516500; 35402441200; 7404338771 | yhoonkim@kribb.re.kr;chullee@kribb.re.kr;Steven.Dooley@medma.uni-heidelberg.de;hsc@chonnam.ac.kr; | REDOX BIOLOGY | REDOX BIOL | 2213-2317 | 71 | SCIE | BIOCHEMISTRY & MOLECULAR BIOLOGY | 2024 | 11.9 | 4.5 | 3.37 | 2025-05-07 | 12 | 11 | ERR gamma; Alcoholic liver disease; FGF23; Oxidative stress | GROWTH-FACTOR 23; FATTY LIVER; CYTOCHROME P4502E1; TRANSGENIC MOUSE; ETHANOL; ORPHAN; EXPRESSION; 2E1; IDENTIFICATION; DEHYDROGENASE | Alcoholic liver disease; CYP2E1; ERRγ; FGF23; Oxidative stress | Animals; Cytochrome P-450 CYP2E1; Drug Inverse Agonism; Ethanol; Hepatocytes; Humans; Liver; Liver Diseases, Alcoholic; Mice; Oxidative Stress; cannabinoid 1 receptor; caspase 3; cytochrome P450 2E1; estrogen related receptor gamma; fibroblast growth factor 23; reactive oxygen metabolite; steroid receptor; unclassified drug; alcohol; cytochrome P450 2E1; alcohol liver disease; alcoholic hepatitis; animal cell; animal experiment; animal model; animal tissue; Article; controlled study; down regulation; experimental liver injury; female; gene expression; human; human cell; image analysis; liver cell; male; molecular interaction; mouse; nonhuman; oxidative stress; protein defect; protein expression; protein function; transactivation; upregulation; animal; genetics; inverse agonism; liver; metabolism; oxidative stress | English | 2024 | 2024-05 | 10.1016/j.redox.2024.103107 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
