| ○ | ○ | Article | Gastrointestinal bleeding risk of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants versus warfarin in general and after polypectomy: a population-based study with propensity score matching analysis | Background/Aims: Gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) risk for non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) compared with warfarin is largely unknown. We aimed to determine the risk of overall and post-polypectomy GIB for NOACs and warfarin. Methods: Using the Korean National Health Insurance database, we created a cohort of patients who were newly prescribed NOACs or warfarin between July 2015 and December 2017 using propensity score matching (PSM). Kaplan-Meier analysis with log-rank test was performed to compare the risk of overall and post-polypectomy GIB between NOACs (apixaban, dabigatran, and rivaroxaban) and warfarin. Post-polypectomy GIB was defined as bleeding within 1 month after gastrointestinal endoscopic polypectomy. Results: Out of 234,206 patients taking anticoagulants (187,687 NOACs and 46,519 warfarin), we selected 39,764 pairs of NOACs and warfarin users after PSM. NOACs patients showed significantly lower risk of overall GIB than warfarin patients (log-rank P < 0.001, hazard ratio, 0.86; 95% confidence interval, 0.78-0.94; P=0.001). Among NOACs, apixaban showed the lowest risk of GIB. In the subgroup of 7,525 patients who underwent gastrointestinal polypectomy (lower gastrointestinal polypectomy 93.1%), 1,546 pairs were chosen for each group after PSM. The NOACs group showed a high risk of post-polypectomy GIB compared with the warfarin group (log-rank P= 0.001, hazard ratio, 1.97; 95% confidence interval, 1.16-3.33; P=0.012). Conclusions: This nationwide, population-based study demonstrates that risk of overall GIB is lower for NOACs than for warfarin, while risk of post-polypectomy GIB is higher for NOACs than for warfarin. | Pae, Jong Yop; Kim, Eun Soo; Kim, Sung Kook; Jung, Min Kyu; Heo, Jun; Lee, Jang Hoon; Park, Min Ae | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Internal Med, Div Gastroenterol, 130 Dongdeok Ro, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Internal Med, Div Cardiol, Daegu, South Korea; Hanmi Pharm Co Ltd, Data Sci Team, Seoul, South Korea | ; Kwak, Sang Gyu/AAG-4341-2021; Kim, Young/J-5414-2012; Kim, Sang/J-5398-2012 | 57193556277; 57203086704; 34770060400; 56783168100; 36448170600; 54581258000; 57224561936 | dandy813@hanmail.net; | INTESTINAL RESEARCH | INTEST RES | 1598-9100 | 20 | 4 | ESCI | GASTROENTEROLOGY & HEPATOLOGY | 2022 | 4.9 | 0.68 | 2025-06-25 | 5 | 6 | Gastrointestinal hemorrhages; Warfarin; Anticoagulants; Polyps | ANTITHROMBOTIC AGENTS; ATRIAL-FIBRILLATION; RIVAROXABAN; DABIGATRAN; MANAGEMENT; APIXABAN; THROMBOEMBOLISM; ANTIPLATELET; ASSOCIATION; COLONOSCOPY | Anticoagulants; Gastrointestinal hemorrhages; Polyps; Warfarin | English | 2022 | 2022-10 | 10.5217/ir.2021.00161 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | Article | Generalized G-Metric Spaces | In this paper, we propose the notion of a distance between n points, called a g-metric, which is a further generalized G-metric. Indeed, it is shown that the g-metric with dimension 2 is the ordinary metric and the g-metric with dimension 3 is equivalent to the G-metric. © Kyungpook Mathematical Journal | Choi, Hayoung; Kim, Sejong; Yang, Seung Yeop | Department of Mathematics, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 41566, South Korea; Department of Mathematics, Chungbuk National University, Cheongju, 361-763, South Korea; Department of Mathematics, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 41566, South Korea | 56942685000; 37111100300; 56589212300 | seungyeop.yang@knu.ac.kr; | Kyungpook Mathematical Journal | KYUNGPOOK MATH J | 1225-6951 | 0454-8124 | 62 | 4 | ESCI | MATHEMATICS | 2022 | 0.7 | 0.19 | 2025-06-25 | 1 | G-metric space; Generalized g-metric space | English | Final | 2022 | 10.5666/kmj.2022.62.4.773 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||
| ○ | Article | Genetic diversity analysis of Indonesian rice germplasm (Oryza sativa L.) with simple sequence repeat markers | The characterization of germplasm provides information on the regional rice genetic diversity and variety kinship classification. This study aimed to provide information on the agro-morphological traits and genetic diversity of fifty local rice varieties from Java and Borneo Island in Indonesia. The variability of thirteen agronomic traits showed the differentiation among the accessions, while the phenotypic traits were grouped into six clusters. The genotyping characterization was conducted using SSR (Simple Sequence Repeats) markers (22 microsatellites), and continued with genetic diversity and Polymorphism Information Content (PIC) analysis. The agro-morphological clustering based on Ward’s Hierarchical constructed six sub-clusters. The PC1 and PC2 had 86.3% of the total percentage. The UPGMA method was used to construct six different groupings, as the correlation between each group and its collecting source was significant. Furthermore, the UPGMA dendrogram clustered the 50 accessions into six main clusters, while the PIC showed a polymorphism value range of 0.41–0.74. RM162 located on chromosome 5, which was considered as the best marker for fifty-one genotypes. At the same time, the lowest PIC value of 0.41 was observed in RM431 located in chromosome 1. This classification can be helpful as a detailed information for plant breeders to characterize and select the germplasm, while conducting backcrosses between rice accessions. © 2022, Eesti Pollumajandusulikool. | ○ | Article | Genetic Diversity of Donkey (Equus asinus) by Mitochondrial DNA (mt-DNA) Analysis | Little research has been conducted on domestic donkeys compared with other livestock and companion animals in South Korea. There is no database that records the origins of domestic donkeys in South Korea, although most of the origins of Korean domestic donkeys are known to be in the northern areas (China, Mongolia). The present study conducted research to shed light on the phylogenetic characteristics and migratory route of domestic donkeys. This is the first mitochondrial DNA (mt-DNA) analysis of donkeys in South Korea. Mt-DNA base pairs of five Korean domestic donkeys were analyzed. A total of 16,670 base pairs and 38 related genes were observed in these donkeys. The result of an analysis of haplotype in CytB domain, revealed that there were 5 polymorphisms, 3 haplotypes, a haplotype diversity value of 0.800 and nucleotide diversity value of 0.00211 in domestic donkeys. As a result of analyzing the phylogenetic analysis based on these results, it is assumed that domestic donkeys were introduced to South Korea via China originated from the Somali wild ass breeds of northern region. © 2022, Unique Scientific Publishers. | ○ | ○ | Article | Genome-Wide Analysis of Cyclic Nucleotide-Gated Channel Genes Related to Pollen Development in Rice | In the angiosperm, pollen germinates and rapidly expands the pollen tube toward the ovule. This process is important for plant double fertilization and seed setting. It is well known that the tip-focused calcium gradient is essential for pollen germination and pollen tube growth. However, little is known about the Ca-2(+) channels that play a role in rice pollen germination and tube growth. Here, we divided the 16 cyclic nucleotide-gated channel (CNGC) genes from rice into five subgroups and found two subgroups (clades II and III) have pollen-preferential genes. Then, we performed a meta-expression analysis of all OsCNGC genes in anatomical samples and identified three pollen-preferred OsCNGCs (OsCNGC4, OsCNGC5, and OsCNGC8). The subcellular localization of these OsCNGC proteins is matched with their roles as ion channels on the plasma membrane. Unlike other OsCNGCs, these genes have a unique cis-acting element in the promoter. OsCNGC4 can act by forming a homomeric complex or a heteromeric complex with OsCNGC5 or OsCNGC8. In addition, it was suggested that they can form a multi-complex with Mildew Resistance Locus O (MLO) protein or other types of ion transporters, and that their expression can be modulated by Ruptured Pollen tube (RUPO) encoding receptor-like kinase. These results shed light on understanding the regulatory mechanisms of pollen germination and pollen tube growth through calcium channels in rice. | Lee, Su-Kyoung; Lee, Soo-Min; Kim, Myung-Hee; Park, Soon-Ki; Jung, Ki-Hong | Kyung Hee Univ, Grad Sch Green Bio Sci, Yongin 17104, South Korea; Kyung Hee Univ, Crop Biotech Inst, Yongin 17104, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Appl Biosci, Daegu 41566, South Korea | ; Jung, Ki/L-5570-2019 | 57223132353; 57977018800; 57221718078; 8055974900; 56022522000 | khjung2010@khu.ac.kr; | PLANTS-BASEL | 2223-7747 | 11 | 22 | 1.1 | 2025-06-25 | 10 | 9 | Oryza sativa; CNGC; pollen germination; pollen tube growth; yeast two-hybrid | DEPENDENT PROTEIN-KINASE; CA2+ CHANNEL; CALCIUM-CHANNEL; TUBE GROWTH; EXPRESSION; CGMP; IDENTIFICATION; TRANSCRIPTION; GERMINATION; NEUROGRANIN | CNGC; Oryza sativa; pollen germination; pollen tube growth; yeast two-hybrid | English | 2022 | 2022-11 | 10.3390/plants11223145 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||
| ○ | Article | Genome-wide analysis of Solanum lycopersicum L. cyclophilins | Cyclophilins (CYPs) are highly conserved ubiquitous proteins belong to the peptidyl prolyl cis/trans isomerase (PPIase) superfamily. These proteins are present in a wide range of organisms; they contain a highly conserved peptidylprolyl cis/trans isomerase domain. A comprehensive database survey identified a total of 35 genes localized in all cellular compartments of Solanum lycopersicum L., but largely in the cytosol. Sequence alignment and conserved motif analyses of the SlCYP proteins revealed a highly conserved CLD motif. Evolutionary analysis predicted the clustering of a large number of gene pairs with high sequence similarity. Expression analysis using the RNA-Seq data showed that the majority of the SlCYP genes were highly expressed in mature leaves and blooming flowers, compared with their expression in other organs. This study provides a basis for the functional characterization of individual CYP genes in the future to elucidate their role(s) in protein refolding and long-distance signaling in tomatoes and in plant biology, in general. © 2022 Korean Society of Plant Biotechnology. | ○ | ○ | Article | Genotype and Phenotype Interaction between OsWKRYq6 and BLB after Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae Inoculation in the Field | Bacterial leaf blight (BLB) is an important and devastating rice disease caused by the pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae (Xoo). In particular, in recent years, the occurrence of abnormal climate and warming phenomena has produced a good environment for the occurrence of BLB, and the rice yield due to the occurrence of BLB continues to decrease. Currently, molecular breeding is applied by searching for resistant genes to development of BLB resistance cultivar. In addition, there are many methods for screening resistant genes, and among them, phenotype analysis in the field and applied research is rarely conducted. Due to recent rapid climate change, BLB is a major problem that has a more serious negative effect on rice yield. Therefore, we suggest OsWRKYq6 to be effectively used for breeding BLB-resistant cultivars by screening BLB-resistant genes. In this study, the BLB-resistant gene was screened using the lesion length, which most definitely changes to the phenotype when Xoo is infected. OsWRKYq6 was finally selected as a BLB resistance gene by analyzing the phenotype and genotype after inoculating Xoo in 120 Cheongcheong/Nagdong double haploid (CNDH) lines in the field. After Xoo inoculation, lesion length and yield were investigated, and 120 CNDH lines were divided from BLB-resistant and susceptible lines. Moreover, when the transcription level of OsWRKYq6 was analyzed in the resistant and susceptible lines after Xoo inoculation in the field, the expression level was regulated to a high level in the resistant line. In this study, we propose OsWRKYq6 as a transcription factor involved in BLB resistance. Currently, the differentiation of various races is proceeding rapidly due to rapid climate change. In addition, screening of transcription factor genes involved in BLB resistance in the field can be effectively applied to molecular breeding to develop resistant cultivars in preparation for rapid climate change. | Du, Xiao-Xuan; Park, Jae-Ryoung; Wang, Xiao-Han; Jan, Rahmatullah; Lee, Gang-Seob; Kim, Kyung-Min | Natl Acad Agr Sci, Biosafety Div, Rural Dev Adm, Jeonju 54874, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coastal Agr Res Inst, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Agr & Life Sci, Sch Appl Biosci, Div Plant Biosci, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Natl Inst Crop Sci, Rural Dev Adm, Natl Inst Crop Sci, Wonju 55365, South Korea; Rural Dev Adm, Natl Inst Agr Sci, Natl Agrobiodivers Ctr, Jeonju 54875, South Korea | Kim, Kyung-Min Kim/C-7007-2014; Wang, Xiaohan/GOV-4111-2022; Jan, Rahmatullah/AIC-3439-2022 | 57209098077; 57211205505; 57219099428; 57201981969; 25927158200; 34868260300 | haobingshuaike@hotmail.com;icd92@naver.com;wang@knu.ac.kr;rehmatbot@yahoo.com;kangslee@korea.kr;kkm@knu.ac.kr; | PLANTS-BASEL | 2223-7747 | 11 | 3 | 0.98 | 2025-06-25 | 6 | 8 | bacterial leaf blight; quantitative trait locus; rice; resistant; field | QUANTITATIVE TRAIT LOCI; BACTERIAL LEAF-BLIGHT; DISEASE RESISTANCE; CLIMATE-CHANGE; PLANT-DISEASE; RICE; GENE; IDENTIFICATION; GENOMES; QTL | Bacterial leaf blight; Field; Quantitative trait locus; Resistant; Rice | English | 2022 | 2022-02 | 10.3390/plants11030287 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||
| ○ | Article | Giant lipoma of the tongue: A case report and review of the literature | This report presents the case of a 49-year-old man who presented with giant masses that had recently grown on the bilateral sides of the tongue. A clinical examination revealed rubbery yellowish lesions protruding from the tongue. A panoramic radiograph showed an enlarged soft tissue shadow of the tongue. Computed tomography showed welldefined circumscribed mass exhibiting a homogeneous low density on the bilateral sides of the tongue. On magnetic resonance images, the masses showed a high signal intensity on T1-weighted images and iso-signal intensity with partially hyperintense margin on fat-suppressed T2-weighted images. Surgical excision was performed, and a histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of lipoma. The patient recovered well with no sign of recurrence. A giant lipoma is defined as a lipoma larger than 5 cm in diameter. A literature review of giant lipomas of the tongue is also presented herein. © 2022. by Korean Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology This is an Open Access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0) which permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited | Yoon, Yeong-Ah; Kwon, Young-Eun; Choi, So-Young; Choi, Karp-Shik; An, Chang-Hyeon; An, Seo-Young | Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, School of Dentistry, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea; 7 Promise Dental Clinic, Daegu, South Korea; Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dentistry, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea; Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, School of Dentistry, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea; Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, School of Dentistry, IHBR, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea; Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, School of Dentistry, IHBR, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea | 57224362386; 57193750002; 57202918688; 55338954100; 17134437600; 55258203200 | syan@knu.ac.kr; | Imaging Science in Dentistry | IMAGNG SCI DENT | 2233-7822 | 2233-7830 | 51 | 1 | ESCI | DENTISTRY, ORAL SURGERY & MEDICINE | 2022 | 1.8 | 0.7 | 2025-06-25 | 5 | Lipoma; Magnetic resonance imaging; Tomography; Tongue; X-ray computed | English | Final | 2022 | 10.5624/isd.20210140 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Green synthesis of zero-valent iron nanoparticles by Cleistocalyx operculatus leaf extract using microfluidic device for degradation of the Rhodamine B dye | Environmental pollution, in particular, the wastewater from the textile and dyeing production process is causing serious issues for the ecosystem and humans. It has been well-demonstrated that zero-valent iron nanoparticles (nZVI) are one of the most promising materials in the treatment of environmental pollutants. In this work, the Cleistocalyx operculatus leaf extract was employed as a green reductant for the synthesis of the nZVIs nanoparticles from iron ions precursor. Notably, a microfluidic device was also used as micro-reactor for the synthesis process of the nanoparticles, making it easy to control and optimise the morphologies and sizes of nZVI. The morphology and crystallinity of nZVI were characterised by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The nZVIs prepared in a microfluidic reactor using Cleistocalyx operculatus leaf extract as reductant were in plate-like structure with the thickness of around 5 nm and the diameter in range of hundred nanometers. The removal efficiency of Rhodamin B (RhB) dye by the prepared nZVI was determined by ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. The results showed that the nZVI revealed high removal performance toward RhB with removal efficiency of higher than 90% after 30 min of treatment. The effects of dye's concentration, time, and pH solution on the treatment performance of RhB were also studied. | Van Hoang, Nguyen; Nguyen-Thi, Le; Kim, Gyu Man; Dang, Trung-Dung; Ngoc Toan, Vu; La, Duong Duc | Inst New Technol, Hanoi, Vietnam; Hanoi Univ Sci & Technol, Hanoi, Vietnam; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Daegu, South Korea; Inst Chem & Mat, 17, Hoang Sam, Hanoi, Vietnam | La, Duong/I-8174-2019; Van Hoang, Nguyen/ABF-5601-2021 | 57214761056; 57222085292; 55664733000; 42461268600; 57205433167; 57193129002 | dung.dangtrung@hust.edu.vn;vntoanchem@gmail.com;duc.duong.la@gmail.com; | ADVANCES IN NATURAL SCIENCES-NANOSCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY | ADV NAT SCI-NANOSCI | 2043-6254 | 2043-6262 | 13 | 4 | ESCI | MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;NANOSCIENCE & NANOTECHNOLOGY;PHYSICS, APPLIED | 2022 | 2.1 | 0.35 | 2025-06-25 | 4 | 5 | zero-valent iron nanoparticles; green synthesis; Cleistocalyx operculatus; dye degradation; microfluidic device | REMOVAL; WATER | Cleistocalyx operculatus; dye degradation; green synthesis; microfluidic device; zero-valent iron nanoparticles | Crystallinity; Efficiency; Fluidic devices; Iron; Metal ions; Microfluidics; Pollution; Rhodium compounds; Scanning electron microscopy; Synthesis (chemical); Cleistocalyx operculatus; Dye degradation; Environmental pollutions; Green synthesis; Leaf extracts; Microfluidics devices; Reductants; Removal efficiencies; Rhodamine B dye; Zero-valent iron nanoparticles; Nanoparticles | English | 2022 | 2022-12-01 | 10.1088/2043-6262/aca023 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Proceedings Paper | GridShift: A Faster Mode-seeking Algorithm for Image Segmentation and Object Tracking | In machine learning and computer vision, mean shift (MS) qualifies as one of the most popular mode-seeking algorithms used for clustering and image segmentation. It iteratively moves each data point to the weighted mean of its neighborhood data points. The computational cost required to find the neighbors of each data point is quadratic to the number of data points. Consequently, the vanilla MS appears to be very slow for large-scale datasets. To address this issue, we propose a mode-seeking algorithm called GridShift, with significant speedup and principally based on MS. To accelerate, GridShift employs a grid-based approach for neighbor search, which is linear in the number of data points. In addition, GridShift moves the active grid cells (grid cells associated with at least one data point) in place of data points towards the higher density, a step that provides more speedup. The runtime of GridShift is linear in the number of active grid cells and exponential in the number of features. Therefore, it is ideal for large-scale low-dimensional applications such as object tracking and image segmentation. Through extensive experiments, we showcase the superior performance of GridShift compared to other MS-based as well as state-of-the-art algorithms in terms of accuracy and runtime on benchmark datasets for image segmentation. Finally, we provide a new object-tracking algorithm based on GridShift and show promising results for object tracking compared to CamShift and meanshift++. | Kumar, Abhishek; Ajani, Oladayo S.; Das, Swagatam; Mallipeddi, Rammohan | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Artificial Intelligence, Daegu 37224, South Korea; Indian Stat Inst Kolkata, Elect & Commun Sci Unit, Kolkata 700108, India | Mallipeddi, Rammohan/AAL-5306-2020; Kumar, Abhishek/ABA-5251-2021; Das, Swagatam/AAG-6753-2019; AJANI, Oladayo/HIR-9607-2022 | 57206266703; 57465126000; 24729258600; 25639919900 | abhishek.kumar.eee13@itbhu.ac.in;oladayosolomon@gmail.com;swagatamdas19@yahoo.co.in;mallipeddi.ram@gmail.com; | 2022 IEEE/CVF CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER VISION AND PATTERN RECOGNITION (CVPR) | 1063-6919 | 0.91 | 2025-06-25 | 8 | 10 | MEAN-SHIFT | grouping and shape analysis; Motion and tracking; Segmentation; Self- & semi- & meta- & unsupervised learning | Benchmarking; Clustering algorithms; Computer vision; Iterative methods; Large dataset; Learning algorithms; Machine learning; Motion analysis; Tracking (position); Datapoints; Grouping and shape analyse; Images segmentations; Mean shift; Mode seeking; Motion and tracking; Object Tracking; Segmentation; Self- & semi- & meta- & unsupervised learning; Shape-analysis; Image segmentation | English | 2022 | 2022 | 10.1109/cvpr52688.2022.00796 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||||
| ○ | Article | Growth and Photosynthetic Characteristics of Sesame Seedlings with Gibberellin-Producing Rhodobacter sphaeroides SIR03 and Biochar | The use of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) with biochar is apprised to be a promising bio-fertilizer for improving the soil fertility and plant growth and development. The current study aimed to identify a potential plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium alongside biochar to improve sesame seedling productivity. Our results revealed that among the nine isolates, SIR01, SIR03, and SIR07 significantly improved the growth and biomass of sesame and Waito-C rice seedlings. The increase in growth of Waito-C rice seedlings through isolate SIR01, SIR03, and SIR07, suggests their ability to produce phytohormones such as GA4, GA9, GA24, and GA34. Furthermore, the application of isolate SIR03 and biochar together revealed a synergistic increase in sesame seedling growth and biomass (fresh and dry weight) compared with their individual applications. This may be explained by enhancement of photosynthetic rate, chlorophyll fluorescence, stomatal conductance, and transpiration rate by the combined SIR03 and biochar treatment. This suggests that co-inoculation with SIR03 alongside the application of biochar can be considered an eco-friendly, low-cost bio-fertilizer to potentially improve sesame seedling growth and development. © 2022 by the authors. | Kang, Sang-Mo; Imran, Muhammad; Shaffique, Shifa; Kwon, Eun-Hae; Park, Yong-Sung; Lee, In-Jung | Department of Applied Biosciences, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 41566, South Korea; Department of Applied Biosciences, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 41566, South Korea; Department of Applied Biosciences, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 41566, South Korea; Department of Applied Biosciences, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 41566, South Korea; Department of Applied Biosciences, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 41566, South Korea; Department of Applied Biosciences, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 41566, South Korea | 56189696900; 58282433800; 57203898867; 57224398710; 57195726535; 16425830900 | ijlee@knu.ac.kr; | International Journal of Plant Biology | 2037-0156 | 13 | 3 | 1.11 | 2025-06-25 | 10 | biochar; GA production; PGPR; sesame seedling | English | Final | 2022 | 10.3390/ijpb13030022 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||||||||
| ○ | Proceedings Paper | GuardedErase: Extending SSD Lifetimes by Protecting Weak Wordlines | 3D NAND flash memory enables the continuous growth in the flash capacity by vertically stacking wordlines (WLs). However, as the number of WLs in a flash block increases, 3D NAND flash memory exhibits strong process variability among different WLs, which makes it difficult for an SSD to fully utilize the maximum endurance of flash blocks, thus reducing the SSD lifetime. In this paper, we propose a new system-level block erase scheme, called GuardedErase, for extending the lifetime of a 3D flash block. The key feature of GuardedErase is that when a block is erased, a WL of the block can be selectively erased by one of two erase modes, the low-stress erase mode or the normal erase mode. When a WL is erased by the low -stress erase mode, the lifetime of the WL can be significantly extended although it may not store data. By supporting two erase modes at the WL level, Guarded-Erase enables an FTL to exploit the new endurance-capacity trade-off relationship at the SSD level. We have implemented the GuardedErase-aware FTL, called long FTL, which extends the SSD lifetime with a negligible impact on the overall I/O performance. Experimental results using various workloads show that long FTL can improve the SSD lifetime on average by 21% over an existing FTL with little degradation on the SSD performance. | Hong, Duwon; Kim, Myungsuk; Cho, Geonhee; Lee, Dusol; Kim, Jihong | Seoul Natl Univ, Seoul, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Daegu, South Korea | PROCEEDINGS OF THE 20TH USENIX CONFERENCE ON FILE AND STORAGE TECHNOLOGIES, FAST 2022 | 23 | English | 2022 | 2022 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| ○ | Article | h-almost Ricci Solitons on Generalized Sasakian-space-forms | The aim of this article is to study the h-almost Ricci solitons and h-almost gradient Ricci solitons on generalized Sasakian-space-forms. First, we consider h-almost Ricci soliton with the potential vector field V as a contact vector field on generalized Sasakian-space-form of dimension greater than three. Next, we study h-almost gradient Ricci solitons on a three-dimensional quasi-Sasakian generalized Sasakian-space-form. In both the cases, several interesting results are obtained © Kyungpook Mathematical Journal | Prakasha, Doddabhadrappla Gowda; Ravindranatha, Amruthalakshmi Malleshrao; Chaubey, Sudhakar Kumar; Veeresha, Pundikala; Suh, Young Jin | Department of Mathematics, Davangere University, Shivagangothri Campus, Davangere, 577 007, India; Department of Mathematics, Davangere University, Shivagangothri Campus, Davangere, 577 007, India; Section of Mathematics, Department of Information Technology, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, P. | ○ | Article | Health Monitoring for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles Using Fault Tree Analysis | As an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) operates over a long period of time in the sea, continuous online monitoring of the vehicle is crucial. By monitoring the health status of the AUV, it is possible not only to avoid a serious damage or even loss of the vehicle, but also to effectively manage the missions being carried out. This paper presents an online health monitoring technique for AUVs using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). The use of both information about the reliability and performance of subsystems can be highlighted as the main contribution from this work. The whole system is divided into several subsystems for which a fault tree is designed. Then, the system health is evaluated using the given fault tree by considering not only the performance of each component, but also the weighting factors, reliability, and fault status of various parts in each subsystem. In order to determine the health status of the AUV in real-time, the fault tree is structurally analyzed using the information mentioned above. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated using a set of simulations. © ICROS 2022. | Byun, Sungil; Lee, Dongik | School of Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Kyungpook National University, South Korea; School of Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Kyungpook National University, South Korea | 55885212200; 55698910600 | dilee@knu.ac.kr; | Journal of Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems | 1976-5622 | 28 | 5 | 0.09 | 2025-06-25 | 1 | autonomous underwater vehicle; failure; fault tree analysis; performance analysis; reliability | Autonomous underwater vehicles; Autonomous vehicles; Fault tree analysis; Health; Information use; Reliability analysis; Autonomous underwater vehicles]; Fault tree analyses (FTA); Fault-trees; Health monitoring; Health monitoring technique; Health status; On-line health monitoring; Online monitoring; Performance; Performances analysis; Vehicle performance | Korean | Final | 2022 | 10.5302/j.icros.2022.22.0021 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
