| ○ | ○ | Article | Calibration of industrial robots with spherical joint using single wire encoder | Demands for affordable robot calibration are increasing recently due to collaborative robots and virtual manufacturing. This study proposes a method using a single wire encoder as an affordable device. Unlike previous studies focused on compensating errors from wire sagging and fixture itself, this method utilizes the alignment between spherical joint and wire end by finding minimum wire length. After the optimal joint angles #4 and #5 are found by grid search and polynomial least-square regression, closed-loop kine-matic chain and linear least square are utilized to find calibration parameters. With 576 datasets, the position error was reduced from 2.43 mm to 0.78 mm.(c) 2022 Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). Published by Elsevier Ltd. | ○ | ○ | Article | Cardiac Complications Associated with Eating Disorders in Children: A Multicenter Retrospective Study | Purpose: Eating disorders often result in somatic complications, including cardiac abnormalities. Cardiac abnormalities may involve any part of the heart, including the cardiac conduction system, and can lead to sudden cardiac death. The current study aimed to evaluate the incidence of cardiac complications in pediatric patients with eating disorders and their associated factors. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients aged 10-18 years who were diagnosed with DSM-V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder-V) eating disorders and underwent electrocardiography (ECG) and/or echocardiography between January 2015 and May 2020.Results: In total, 127 patients were included, of whom 113 (89.0%) were female. The median body mass index (BMI) was 15.05 +/- 3.69 kg/m2. Overall, 74 patients (58.3%) had ECG abnormalities, with sinus bradycardia being the most common abnormality (91.9%). Patients with ECG abnormalities had significantly lower BMI (14.35 +/- 2.78 kg/m2 vs. 16.06 +/- 4.55 kg/m2, p<0.001) than patients without ECG abnormalities, as well as lower phosphorus and higher cholesterol levels. Among the 46 patients who underwent echocardiographic evaluation, 23 (50.0%) had echocardiographic abnormalities, with pericardial effusion being the most common (60.9%). The median left ventricular mass (LVM) and ejection fraction were 67.97 +/- 21.25 g and 66.91 +/- 28.76%, respectively. LVM and BMI showed a positive correlation (r=0.604, p<0.001). After weight gain, the amount of pericardial effusion was reduced in 3 patients, and 30 patients presented with normal ECG findings. Conclusion: Cardiac abnormalities are relatively frequent in patients with eating disorders. Physicians should focus on this somatic complication and careful monitoring is required. | Choi, So Yoon; Lee, Kyung Jae; Kim, Soon Chul; Lee, Eun Hye; Lee, Yoo Min; Kim, Yu -Bin; Yi, Dae Yong; Kim, Ju Young; Kang, Ben; Jang, Hyo-Jeong; Hong, Suk Jin; Choi, You Jin; Kim, Hyun Jin | Kosin Univ, Gospel Hosp, Coll Med, Dept Pediat, Pusan, South Korea; Hallym Univ, Coll Med, Dept Pediat, Chunchon, South Korea; Jeonbuk Natl Univ Med Sch & Hosp, Dept Pediat, Jeonju, South Korea; Eulji Univ, Nowon Eulji Med Ctr, Dept Pediat, Seoul, South Korea; Soonchunhyang Univ, Bucheon Hosp, Coll Med, Dept Pediat, Bucheon, South Korea; Ajou Univ, Sch Med, Dept Pediat, Suwon, South Korea; Chung Ang Univ, Coll Med, Chung Ang Univ Hosp, Dept Pediat, Seoul, South Korea; Eulji Univ, Daejeon Eulji Med Ctr, Dept Pediat, Daejeon, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Pediat, Daegu, South Korea; Keimyung Univ, Dongsan Med Ctr, Sch Med, Dept Pediat, Daegu, South Korea; Daegu Catholic Univ, Sch Med, Dept Pediat, Daegu, South Korea; Inje Univ, Ilsan Paik Hosp, Dept Pediat, Goyang, South Korea; Chungnam Natl Univ, Coll Med, Chungnam Natl Univ Hosp, Dept Pediat, Daejeon, South Korea; Chungnam Natl Univ, Coll Med, Chungnam Natl Univ Hosp, Dept Pediat, 282 Munhwaro, Daejeon 35015, Guam, South Korea | ; 康, 奔/JMQ-0812-2023; Lee, Yun-Soo/AAA-7364-2022; Yi, Dae/G-1729-2014; Kim, Siwon/KHX-9078-2024; Kim, Youngmin/C-7926-2019; lee, dong/I-9385-2017 | 57207282105; 57022460500; 36087407700; 57188855950; 55588928200; 57212382905; 57190851975; 57202996384; 57194823199; 55355948500; 56573097000; 56063619400; 58975661600 | tai832@cnuh.co.kr; | PEDIATRIC GASTROENTEROLOGY HEPATOLOGY & NUTRITION | PEDIATR GASTROENTERO | 2234-8646 | 2234-8840 | 25 | 5 | ESCI | PEDIATRICS | 2022 | 1.9 | 0.37 | 2025-06-25 | 3 | 3 | Feeding and eating disorders; Cardiovascular diseases; Pericardial effusion; Bradycardia | LEFT-VENTRICULAR MASS; ANOREXIA-NERVOSA; MEDICAL COMPLICATIONS; QT INTERVAL; WEIGHT-LOSS; ADOLESCENTS; MORTALITY; PROLONGATION; SIZE; AGE | Bradycardia; Cardiovascular diseases; Feeding and eating disorders; Pericardial effusion | English | 2022 | 2022-09 | 10.5223/pghn.2022.25.5.432 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Case study: cost-effective image analysis method to study drought stress of soybean in early vegetative stage | There are many applications of image-based analysis for phenotyping agronomic traits. However, they are inappropriate or difficult to operate due to lack of time, equipment, and financial limits. In this report, we demonstrate fast and reliable phenotyping methods to screen drought tolerance in soybeans (Glycine max L.) using the green area of the canopy from the image sensor. Vertical images obtained from the commercial digital camera and processed on free software called Canopeo were used for initial screening for drought stress evaluation. As a result, this method positively correlated with the number of nodes, which is the indicator of the yield components. It also showed that the green area of the canopy has significantly been affected by drought, and varieties than the number of nodes. This simple method using the digital images obtained in a cost-effective manner would be useful for initial drought evaluations. | Kim, Jaeyoung; Yu, Ju-Kyung; Rodrogues, Renato; Kim, Yoonha; Park, Jieun; Jung, Ji-Hyeon; Kang, Sung Taeg; Kim, Kyung-Hwan; Baek, Jeongho; Lee, Eungyung; Chung, Yong Suk | Jeju Natl Univ, Dept Plant Resources & Environm, Jeju 63243, South Korea; Syngenta Crop Protect LLC, Seeds Res, Res Triangle Pk, Durham, NC 27709 USA; Univ Fed Goias, Inst Math & Stat, BR-74001970 Goiania, Go, Brazil; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Appl Biosci, Plant Biosci, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Dankook Univ, Dept Food Sci Biotechnol, Cheonan 31116, South Korea; Natl Inst Agr Sci, Rural Dev Adm RDA, Jeonju 54874, South Korea | Yu, Ju-Kyung/HCH-4393-2022; JIEUN, PARK/KBP-9718-2024; Chung, Yong/V-6909-2019 | 58060905400; 7405526081; 59454592400; 57224866763; 57225103839; 57226010747; 9736708500; 57202965738; 57202406016; 57226002785; 36983850100 | yschung@jejunu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF CROP SCIENCE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY | 1975-9479 | 2005-8276 | 25 | 1 | 0.52 | 2025-06-25 | 6 | 5 | Abiotic stress; Phenotyping platform; RGB image process; Screening method; Sensors for phenotyping | TEMPERATURE | Abiotic stress; Phenotyping platform; RGB image process; Screening method; Sensors for phenotyping | English | 2022 | 2022-01 | 10.1007/s12892-021-00110-8 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||
| ○ | Conference paper | Cauchy Integral Theorem and its Applications | Italian mathematicians Girolamo Cardano and Raphael Bombelli made the initial dis covery of complex numbers somewhere in the 16th century while attempting to solve a algebra icquestion. The relevance of complex analysis in mathematics, physics, and engineering is incre asing now after hundreds of years of growth, particularly in the areas of algebraic geometry, flu id dynamics, quantum mechanics, and other relatedtopics. This paper discusses three aspects of integration of complex functions, properties and valuation of complex line integral, and Cauchy's Theorem and its applications. It mainly gives a detailed definition of complex integrals, clarifies the properties of operations such as indefinite integrals and integral paths, and briefly lists several applications of Cauchy's theorem and proves them. Several theorems are proved from Cauchy's theorem, Local existence of primitives and Cauchy's theorem in a disc, and Cauchy's integral formulas. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd. | Du, Jun; Lu, Sicen; Yang, Tianyi | Hohai-Lille College, Hohai University, Nanjing, 211100, China; Department of Mathematics, Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 702701, South Korea; Department of Mathematics, Auburn University, Auburn, 36849, United States | 58040129900; 58040098900; 58040331500 | dujun@hhu.edu.cn;2019117405@knu.ac.kr;tzy0021@auburn.edu; | Journal of Physics: Conference Series | 1742-6588 | 2386 | 1 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | Algebra; Algebraic geometry; Bombelli; Cauchy integral theorems; Cauchy theorem; Complex analysis; Complex functions; Complex number; Function properties; ITS applications; Line integrals; Quantum theory | English | Final | 2022 | 10.1088/1742-6596/2386/1/012017 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||||||||
| ○ | Book chapter | CDSS Tests for Evaluation of Vibration Frequency in Liquefaction Resistance of Silica Sand | The frequency of ground motions during earthquakes is typically on the order of a few hertz. In the evaluation of the liquefaction resistance of soil in laboratory tests, it is necessary to consider various vibration frequencies generated by real earthquakes. The effect of vibration frequency has been studied by cyclic triaxial tests; however, it has rarely been investigated by cyclic direct simple shear (CDSS) tests, which are more similar to the cyclic loading conditions associated with earthquakes. In this study, a series of CDSS tests was performed on relative density of 40% of sand obtained from Nakdong River. Two different initial vertical effective stresses (σ′ v0, 100 and 200 kPa) and four different frequencies (f, 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, and 1 Hz) were applied to evaluate the effect of the vibration frequency on the liquefaction resistance of clean sand for both the undrained and drained conditions. For the undrained CDSS tests, the liquefaction resistance of the sand was observed to increase with f, regardless of σ′ v0. The maximum increase in the cyclic resistance was 15% when f was increased from 0.1 to 1 Hz. For the drained CDSS tests, with an increase in f, the rate of volumetric strain accumulation decreased and the shear modulus ratio increased. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022. | Nong, Zhen-Zhen; Park, Sung-Sik; Jiang, Peng-Ming | Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu, Zhenjiang, 212100, China; Kyungpook National University, Daegu, 702-701, South Korea; Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu, Zhenjiang, 212100, China | 57211377923; 36241850300; 27167537000 | zznong@foxmail.com; | Geotechnical, Geological and Earthquake Engineering | 1573-6059 | 52 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | Drained CDSS test; Sand liquefaction; Undrained CDSS test; Vibration frequency | English | Final | 2022 | 10.1007/978-3-031-11898-2_144 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||||||||||
| ○ | Review | Cervical Radiculopathy Caused by Spinal Epidural Arteriovenous Fistula (SEDAVF) Without Intradural Drainage: A Case Report and Literature Review | Spinal epidural arteriovenous fistula (SEDAVF) is a rare vascular malformation. Due to the mass effect of enlarged epidural veins and venous hypertension, progressive radiculopathy and myelopathy are likely to occur. A 33-year-old female presented with right upper extremity weakness for a month. The cause of this symptom was a SEDAVF, which was located near the C5-6-7 foramens and compressed the nerve roots. In the absence of intradural venous drainage, endovascular treatment is often difficult because of the large venous pouch. We performed endovascular trapping of the vertebral artery (VA) and loose packing of the coil material on the AVF to minimize mass effects. Immediately after embolization, the fistula was occluded, but a small new feeder vessel developed a day later. An n-butyl cyanoacrylate embolization was performed, and the fistula was successfully occluded. | ○ | ○ | Article | Change Detection Using Deep Learning Based Semantic Segmentation for Nuclear Activity Detection and Monitoring | Satellite imaging is an effective supplementary data source for detecting and verifying nuclear activity. It is also highly beneficial in regions with limited access and information, such as nuclear installations. Time series analysis, in particular, can identify the process of preparing for the conduction of a nuclear experiment, such as relocating equipment or changing facilities. Differences in the semantic segmentation findings of time series photos were employed in this work to detect changes in meaningful items connected to nuclear activity. Building, road, and small object datasets made of KOMPSAT 3/3A photos given by AIHub were used to train deep learning models such as U -Net, PSPNet, and Attention U -Net. To pick relevant models for targets, many model parameters were adjusted. The final change detection was carried out by including object information into the first change detection, which was obtained as the difference in semantic segmentation findings. The experiment findings demonstrated that the suggested approach could effectively identify altered pixels. Although the suggested approach is dependent on the accuracy of semantic segmentation findings, it is envisaged that as the dataset for the region of interest grows in the future, so will the relevant scope of the proposed method. | Song, Ahram; Lee, Changhui; Lee, Jinmin; Han, Youkyung | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Locat Based Informat Syst, Sangju, South Korea; Seoul Natl Univ Sci & Technol, Dept Civil Engn, Seoul, South Korea | 56496312900; 57339201100; 58095755500; 55457676600 | han602@seoultech.ac.kr; | KOREAN JOURNAL OF REMOTE SENSING | KOREAN J REMOTE SENS | 1225-6161 | 2287-9307 | 38 | 6 | ESCI | REMOTE SENSING | 2022 | 0.4 | 0.19 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | Nuclear activity; Change detection; Deep learning; Semantic segmentation; High spatial resolution satellite image | Change detection; Deep learning; High spatial resolution satellite image; Nuclear activity; Semantic segmentation | English | 2022 | 2022-12 | 10.7780/kjrs.2022.38.6.1.1 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||
| ○ | Article | Changes in Anti-Oxidation and Sugar Degradation Enzyme Activities of Ixeris dentata NAKAI Extract with Gamma Irradiation; [감마선 조사한 씀바귀(Ixeris dentata NAKAI) 추출물의 항산화 및 당분해 효소 활성 변화 비교] | This study was designed to investigate the effects of different doses of gamma irradiation on the anti-oxidative activities, sugar degradation enzyme activity, and extraction yields of Ilxeris dentata NAKAI. Physical techniques to identify irradiation, namely photostimulated luminescence, thermoluminescence and electron spin resonance, confirmed that Ilxeris dentata NAKAI was gamma-irradiated. The total phenolics content (TPC) was higher in extracts from irradiated Ilxeris dentata NAKAI than from non-irradiated (0 kGy) samples. The inhibition of DPPH radical scavenging activity by water extracts from 0 kGy and 10 kGy irradiated Ilxeris dentata NAKAI was very high at over 80% each. The inhibition of ABTS radical cation activity by the water extracts from 0 kGy and 10 kGy irradiated Ilxeris dentata NAKAI was also very high at over 99% each, at 200 μg/mL TPC concentration. The antioxidant protection factor (PF) in the water extract from 10 kGy irradiated Ilxeris dentata NAKAI showed a very high level of activity at 1.41∼3.06 PF at 50∼200 μg/mL TPC concentrations. The thiobarbituric acid reactive substances in the water extract from 10 kGy irradiated Ilxeris dentata NAKAI showed high levels of 85.22∼98.57% inhibition at 50∼200 μg/mL TPC concentration. The pancreatin α-amylase inhibitory activities were high at 38.52∼100.00% at 50∼200 μg/mL TPC concentrations of water extract with 10 kGy irradiation doses. These results suggest an enhancement of extraction yields of phenolic compounds and biological activities from Ilxeris dentata NAKAI by gamma ray irradiation at 10 kGy. Also, treatment by gamma-irradiation can be used to amplify the solubility of biologically active compounds in plants. © 2022 The Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition | Park, Hye-Jin; Jung, Hee-Young; Cho, Young-Je | School of Food science and Biotechnology; School of Applied Biosciences, Kyungpook National University, South Korea; School of Food science and Biotechnology | 7601567655; 7403029383; 55265396300 | yjcho@knu.ac.kr; | Journal of the Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition | 1226-3311 | 51 | 1 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | Antioxidant; Extracts; Gamma irradiation; Ilxeris dentata NAKAI; Sugar degradation enzyme | Korean | Final | 2022 | 10.3746/jkfn.2022.51.1.28 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||||||||
| ○ | Conference paper | Changes in audio intensity perception according to touch recognition in a virtual environment | This paper presents the changes in audio intensity perception according to touch recognition in a virtual environment. To investigate the audio intensity perception in a virtual environment, an experiment in which a subject comes into contact with a touch object in a virtual reality space was modeled using Unity, one of the popular development platforms. As tools for the experiment, a headset and controllers of Oculus were used for a subject to experience audio and haptic feedback in the virtual reality space. In the experiment, subjects were asked to estimate the intensity perception of audio feedback given by the headset depending on whether or not they noticed contact with a virtual object via haptic feedback and visual information. In the end, the answers from the subjects were analyzed statistically, and then the effect of touch feedbacks on audio intensity perception was discussed. © ICA 2022.All rights reserved | Won, Hong-In; Kim, Byeong Hak; Lee, Jun Ha; Merchel, Sebastian; Altinsoy, M. | ○ | ○ | Article | Changes in Long-Term Functional Independence in Patients with Moderate and Severe Ischemic Stroke: Comparison of the Responsiveness of the Modified Barthel Index and the Functional Independence Measure | This study investigated the long-term functional changes in patients with moderate-to-severe ischemic stroke. In addition, we investigated whether there was a difference between the modified Barthel Index (MBI) and Functional Independence Measure (FIM) according to severity. To evaluate the changes in the long-term functional independence of the subjects, six evaluations were conducted over 2 years, and the evaluation was performed using MBI and FIM. A total of 798 participants participated in this study, of which 673 were classified as moderate and 125 as severe. During the first 3 months, the moderate group showed greater recovery than the severe group. The period of significant change in the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was up to 6 months after onset in the moderate group, and up to 3 months after onset in the severe group. In the severe group, MBI evaluation showed significant changes up to 6 months after onset, whereas FIM showed significant changes up to 18-24 months. Our results showed that functional recovery of patients with ischemic stroke in the 3 months after onset was greater in the moderate group than in the severe group. FIM is more appropriate than MBI for evaluating the functional status of patients with severe stroke. | Lee, Eun Young; Sohn, Min Kyun; Lee, Jong Min; Kim, Deog Young; Shin, Yong Il; Oh, Gyung Jae; Lee, Yang Soo; Lee, So Young; Song, Min Keun; Han, Jun Hee; Ahn, Jeong Hoon; Lee, Young Hoon; Chang, Won Hyuk; Choi, Soo Mi; Lee, Seon Kui; Joo, Min Cheol; Kim, Yun Hee | Wonkwang Univ, Sch Med, Dept Rehabil Med, Inst Brain Sci Res, Iksan 54538, South Korea; Chungnam Natl Univ, Coll Med, Dept Rehabil Med, Daejeon 35015, South Korea; Konkuk Univ, Sch Med, Dept Rehabil Med, Seoul 05030, South Korea; Yonsei Univ, Coll Med, Dept & Res Inst Rehabil Med, Seoul 03722, South Korea; Pusan Natl Univ, Sch Med, Yangsan Hosp, Dept Rehabil Med, Yangsan 50612, South Korea; Wonkwang Univ, Sch Med, Dept Prevent Med, Iksan 54538, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Dept Rehabil Med, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Jeju Natl Univ, Sch Med, Jeju Natl Univ Hosp, Dept Rehabil Med, Jeju 63241, South Korea; Chunnam Natl Univ, Med Sch, Dept Phys & Rehabil Med, Kwangju 61469, South Korea; Hallym Univ, Dept Stat, Chunchon 24252, South Korea; Ewha Womans Univ, Dept Hlth Convergence, Seoul 03760, South Korea; Sungkyunkwan Univ, Sch Med, Samsung Med Ctr, Ctr Prevent & Rehabil,Dept Phys & Rehabil Med, Seoul 06351, South Korea; Korea Ctr Dis Control & Prevent, Ctr Dis, Div Chron Dis Prevent, Cheongju 28159, South Korea; Wonkwang Univ, Sch Med, Inst Wonkwang Med Sci, Dept Rehabil Med, Iksan 54538, South Korea; Sungkyunkwan Univ, SAIHST, Dept Hlth Sci & Technol, Seoul 06351, South Korea | Ahn, Jeonghoon/CAA-1956-2022; Kim, Yun-Hee/GVS-6426-2022; kim, deog young/Q-8498-2019 | 57224970900; 7101840459; 57202882113; 55375583000; 55890990500; 7007056685; 57202952463; 57202327370; 55375416600; 57192890252; 8855402200; 55716155400; 35301717900; 57253230100; 57216396953; 56982599700; 57020121600 | mcjoo68@wku.ac.kr;yun1225.kim@samsung.com; | INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH AND PUBLIC HEALTH | 1660-4601 | 19 | 15 | 1.35 | 2025-06-25 | 16 | 15 | functional independence measure; independence; modified Barthel Index; severity; stroke | COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT; TIME-COURSE; RECOVERY; REHABILITATION; PREDICTORS; DISCHARGE; LENGTH; LEVEL | functional independence measure; independence; modified Barthel Index; severity; stroke | Activities of Daily Living; Functional Status; Humans; Ischemic Stroke; Stroke; Stroke Rehabilitation; cardiovascular disease; comparative study; disease prevalence; health services; hospital sector; adult; aged; Article; Barthel index; cohort analysis; comparative study; disease course; disease duration; disease severity; female; Functional Independence Measure; functional status; human; ischemic stroke; longitudinal study; major clinical study; male; National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale; prospective study; young adult; brain ischemia; cerebrovascular accident; daily life activity; stroke rehabilitation | English | 2022 | 2022-08 | 10.3390/ijerph19159612 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Changes in Microbial Community Structure in Response to Gummosis in Peach Tree Bark | Peach gummosis disease has been identified as a serious challenge in Korean agriculture and has developed to become a major cause of agricultural productivity losses. However, treatments for gummosis have not been systemically established and studies of the microbiome closely related to this plant disease are lacking. Therefore, we analyzed the bacterial and fungal communities in the bark and rhizosphere soil of healthy peach trees and those with gummosis. Through high-throughput sequencing, we obtained unprecedented insights into the bacterial and fungal dynamics of each group, including their diversity and taxonomic classification, as well as network analyses. We found that the presence of gummosis drives a significantly higher alpha diversity in the bark bacterial community. Peach gummosis bark mycobiomes included greater numbers of opportunistic pathogens such as Ascochyta, Botryosphaeria, Saccharomyces, Nectriaceae NA, Trametes, and Valsaceae NA. However, the microbiome also included bacteria beneficial to plant growth and the production of polysaccharides-namely, 1174-901-12, Catenibacterium, Cutibacterium, Friedmanniella, Methylobacterium-Methylorubrum, Pseudomonas, Rhodobacter, and Sphingomonas. Furthermore, we confirmed that gummosis induced a more complex structure in the bark microbiome network. We conclude that the findings of this study provide a valuable aid in profiling the overall peach tree microbial ecosystem, which can be utilized to develop precise biomarkers for the early diagnosis of gummosis. | Jo, YoungJae; Jung, Da-Ryung; Park, Tae-Hyung; Lee, Dokyung; Park, Min-Kyu; Lim, Kyeongmo; Shin, Jae-Ho | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Appl Biosci, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Integrat Biotechnol, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, NGS Core Facil, Daehak Ro 80, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57214743390; 57221116102; 57224855198; 57961974700; 7404490480; 57805008000; 57224125922 | jhshin@knu.ac.kr; | PLANTS-BASEL | 2223-7747 | 11 | 21 | 1.1 | 2025-06-25 | 8 | 9 | peach gummosis; microbiome; mycobiome; agroecosystem; plant-microbe interactions | RHIZOSPHERE MICROBIOME; LASIODIPLODIA-THEOBROMAE; BOTRYOSPHAERIA-DOTHIDEA; CHEMICAL CONTROL; FUNGAL GUMMOSIS; RESISTANCE; DISEASE; PROVINCE; RESIN | agroecosystem; microbiome; mycobiome; peach gummosis; plant-microbe interactions | English | 2022 | 2022-11 | 10.3390/plants11212834 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Changes of Mineralogical Characteristics of Precipitates in Acid Mine Drainage of the Dalsung Mine and Related Changes of Trace Elements | Various iron minerals that precipitate in acid mine drainage have a great influence on the concentration change and mobility of trace elements in the drainage during phase transition to other minerals as well as the precipitation process. This study investigated the change of mineral properties and the behaviors of trace elements influenced by pH and time for the precipitates collected from the acid mine drainage treatment system of the Dalsung mine, where schwertmannite is mainly precipitated. However, the main mineral precipitated in the drainage was goethite, suggesting schwetmannite has already undergone a phase transition to goethite to some extent, and it was observed that at higher pH, the peak width at half maximum of XRD peak was narrower. This can be interpreted as the transformation of small amount of amorphous schwctmannite to goethite or an increase in the crystallinity of goethite, and it showed that the higher the pH, the greater this change was. The concentration of Fe was also greatly affected by the pH values, and as the pH increased, the concentration of Fe in the drainage decreased. With increasing time, the Fe concentration increased and then decreased, which can he interpreted to indicate the dissolution of schwertmannite and precipitation of goethite. This mineral change probably resulted in the rapid increase of the concentration of S at initial stage, but its concentration was stabilized later. The concentration of S is also related to the stability of schwctmannite, showing a high concentration at a low pH at which schwertmannite is stable and a low concentration at a high pH at which goethite is stable. The trace elements present as cations in the drainage also showed a close relationship with the pH, generally the lower the pH, the higher the concentration, due to the solubility changes by the pH, and the precipitation and the changes in mineral surface charge at high pH. On the other hand, in the case of As, existing as an anion, although it showed a high concentration at low pH, its concentration increased with time at all pH values, which is probably related to the concentration of Fe which can be coprecipitated in the drainage, and the increase of As concentration with time is also considered to be related to the decrease in schwertmannite rather than the mineral surface charge. | Yoon, Young Jin; Kim, Yeongkyoo; Lee, Seong-joo | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Earth Syst Sci, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57223310857; 7410207179; 48961279800 | ygkim@knu.ac.kr; | ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGY | ECON ENVIRON GEOL | 1225-7281 | 2288-7962 | 55 | 5 | ESCI | GEOLOGY | 2022 | 0.3 | 0.12 | 2025-06-25 | 1 | 1 | acid mine drainage; schwertmannite; goethite; trace elements; mineral precipitation | SCHWERTMANNITE TRANSFORMATION; IRON; GOETHITE; ADSORPTION; ATTENUATION; DIMENSIONS; BEHAVIOR; SORPTION; CD(II); PB(II) | acid mine drainage; goethite; mineral precipitation; schwertmannite; trace elements | Korean | 2022 | 2022-10 | 10.9719/eeg.2022.55.5.531 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | Article | Characteristics of Basepaper Blended with Bamboo Organosolv Pulps and Wood Kraft Pulps for Air Filter Application | Air pollution is a major environmental issue; thus, air purification apparatus fitted with various types of filter have become popular to remove suspended particulate matter, dirts and toxic materials to create a clean environment. Polypropylene is the most popular types of filter materials; however, is not easily reusable, which can lead environmental pollution during incineration process. In this regards, applications of cellulosic fibers to air filter materials could be an alternative way to alleviate these issues. In this study, sheets of paper blended with bamboo pulps from an organosolv pulping and kraft pulps were produced in a pilot-scale papermachine and investigated as a base paper to fabricate a potential air filter architecture. The air resistance of the blended paper was less than one second regardless of the grammage and mixing ratios of bamboo and kraft pulps, indicating the resulting base paper could be used an air filter material. © 2022 Korean Technical Assoc. of the Pulp and Paper Industry. | ○ | Article | Characteristics of Lignocellulosic-Based Porous Materials with Drying Methods | Cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) with hydrophilicity, and biodegradability can be used as raw materials for producing porous materials such as aerogels. The aerogels from CNFs are mainly produced through processes involving freeze-drying methods, but such methods are expensive, time-consuming, and suitable for a small-scale production. Therefore, to produce CNFs in a scalable production, a new production method capable of lowering the production cost with a short-drying time is required. In this study, lignocellulose comprising short fiber length and higher residual lignin content was used as a raw material to produce aerogels. A cross-linking agent and a catalyst were added to the lignocellulose suspension. After the reaction was completed, the sample was ice-templated and dried using several drying methods. Among the drying methods applied in this study, the oven-drying is a suitable method to make a cylinder-type aerogel in terms of drying time and strength properties. The drying time of the porous material oven-dried at 105°C was faster than freeze-drying, as well as it developed more tensile and compressive strengths than other drying methods. In addition, the aerogels deformed by an external force, produce excellent recovery ability when submerged in water. © 2022 Korean Technical Assoc. of the Pulp and Paper Industry.
