| ○ | ○ | Article | Misdiagnosis of Primary Iliac Aneurysmo-Colonic Fistula as a Submucosal Tumor Leading to Delayed Treatment: A Case Report | An aortoenteric fistula (AEF) is an uncommon cause of gastrointestinal bleeding that requires prompt diagnosis and intervention owing to its high mortality rate. Moreover, iliac aneurysmo-colonic fistula is an exceptionally infrequent presentation. We report a unique case of a 71-year-old male presenting with hematochezia, later diagnosed with a primary fistula between a common iliac artery aneurysm and the sigmoid colon. Initially, the patient was misdiagnosed as having a gastrointestinal stromal tumor, leading to delayed and emergent surgical intervention due to massive bleeding 2 days later. This case is particularly notable for its rarity, misinterpretation of the initial diagnosis, complicated surgical procedures, and development of complications including ischemic myopathy. This case highlights the criticality of accurate diagnosis with a high index of suspicion, significance of consultation with a vascular surgeon for vascular abnormalities, and importance of considering ischemic time in the sequence of surgical treatments to ensure timely and appropriate management. | Lee, Sangho; Hwang, Deokbi; Yun, Woo-Sung; Huh, Seung; Kim, Hyung-Kee | Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Dept Surg, Div Vasc & Endovasc Surg, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Chilgok Hosp, Dept Surg, Div Vasc & Endovasc Surg, 807 Hoguk Ro, Daegu 41404, South Korea | Kim, Hyung-Kee/JBR-8125-2023 | 59152609900; 57194422879; 35070717000; 7101832929; 35169819900 | hkkim6260@knu.ac.kr; | VASCULAR AND ENDOVASCULAR SURGERY | VASC ENDOVASC SURG | 1538-5744 | 1938-9116 | 58 | 7 | SCIE | PERIPHERAL VASCULAR DISEASE;SURGERY | 2024 | 0.7 | 79.6 | 0 | 2025-05-07 | 0 | 0 | aortoenteric fistula; gastrointestinal bleeding; common iliac artery; sigmoid colon; fistula | aortoenteric fistula; common iliac artery; fistula; gastrointestinal bleeding; sigmoid colon | Aged; Colectomy; Colonic Diseases; Computed Tomography Angiography; Delayed Diagnosis; Diagnostic Errors; Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage; Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors; Humans; Iliac Aneurysm; Intestinal Fistula; Male; Predictive Value of Tests; Time Factors; Time-to-Treatment; Treatment Delay; Treatment Outcome; Vascular Fistula; epinephrine; piperacillin plus tazobactam; vancomycin; abdominal pain; abdominal surgery; aged; aortointestinal fistula; Article; case report; clinical article; colonoscopy; colostomy; computer assisted tomography; diagnostic error; endovascular aneurysm repair; follow up; gastrointestinal hemorrhage; gastrointestinal stromal tumor; heart rate; hematochezia; human; hyperlipidemia; hypertension; iliac artery aneurysm; internal iliac artery; laparoscopy; male; myopathy; neoplasm; Primary Iliac Aneurysmo-Colonic Fistula; saccular aneurysm; sigmoid; Submucosal Tumor; surgical technique; blood vessel fistula; colectomy; colon disease; complication; computed tomographic angiography; delayed diagnosis; diagnostic imaging; etiology; iliac artery aneurysm; intestine fistula; predictive value; surgery; therapy delay; time factor; time to treatment; treatment outcome | English | 2024 | 2024-10 | 10.1177/15385744241257597 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Pathologic fractures of the humerus during adjuvant pembrolizumab in patients with renal cell carcinoma after radical nephrectomy: A case report | Introduction and importance: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have noticeably enhanced oncologic outcomes associated with patient survival in different subtypes of metastatic cancer by enhancing cytotoxic T-cell activity. ICI-associated toxicities are often referred to as immune-related adverse events (irAEs) and occur in nearly every organ system. However, the effect of ICIs on the skeleton is poorly examined, and only a few case series have been published. Case presentation: A 37-year-old man who presented with pathologic fractures of the right proximal humerus during adjuvant pembrolizumab therapy following laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for right renal cell carcinoma. Clinical discussion: ICIs are associated with various irAEs virtually affecting all host tissues, most of which have been described well by pharmacovigilance analyses. However, to date, very few studies have examined the effects of ICI on the skeleton. Conclusion: Urologic oncologists and urologists should be aware of the rare but potentially fatal bone side effects of ICIs. | Kang, Jun-Koo; Lee, Eun Hye; Lee, Jun Nyung; Kim, Tae-Hwan; Kwon, Tae Gyun; Chung, Jae-Wook | Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Dept Urol, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Biomed Res Inst, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Urol, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Joint Inst Regenerat Med, Daegu 41940, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Urol, 130 Dongdeok Ro, Daegu 41944, South Korea | 57979888100; 57189661699; 16301364600; 57797823600; 15073765400; 35204798500 | jeus119@hanmail.net; | INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SURGERY CASE REPORTS | INT J SURG CASE REP | 2210-2612 | 115 | ESCI | SURGERY | 2024 | 0.7 | 79.6 | 2.11 | 2025-05-07 | 2 | 2 | Pathologic fracture; Pembrolizumab; Renal cell carcinoma; Case report | Case report; Pathologic fracture; Pembrolizumab; Renal cell carcinoma | fluorodeoxyglucose f 18; hemoglobin; pazopanib; pembrolizumab; abdominal radiography; adult; arm pain; Article; blood analysis; bone marrow biopsy; bone scintiscanning; cancer adjuvant therapy; cancer grading; cancer patient; case report; clinical article; disease exacerbation; duration; fever; hemoglobin blood level; histopathology; hospital department; human; human tissue; humerus fracture; humerus metastasis; kidney tumor; laparoscopic radical nephrectomy; male; metastasis resection; multiple cycle treatment; pathologic fracture; platelet count; positron emission tomography; radical nephrectomy; renal cell carcinoma; sacrum cancer | English | 2024 | 2024-02 | 10.1016/j.ijscr.2024.109290 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||

| ○ | Article | The use of the bicipital groove as an intraoperative landmark for proximal humeral rotation during fracture fixation | Objectives: This study aimed to quantify the relationship between proximal humeral rotation and the lateral border of the bicipital groove on fluoroscopic imaging. Methods: A composite normal humerus with a marker placed on the lateral border of the bicipital groove was affixed to a custom rotation device at the proximal cut segment. Consecutive fluoroscopic images were captured from -60 degrees to 60 degrees in 5 degrees increments and from -15 degrees to 15 degrees in 1 degrees increments. The index value was calculated by taking the ratio of the distance from the medial boundary of the proximal humerus to the lateral border of the bicipital groove to the distance between the medial and lateral boundaries of the proximal humerus. The correlation between the humeral rotation and the index value was determined. Results: The index value showed a strong positive linear correlation position during internal rotation of the humerus across the entire range (r=0.998, P<0.001), as well as when the humerus was externally rotated, ranging from 15 degrees of internal rotation to 15 degrees of external rotation (r=0.991, P<0.001). Conclusion: The lateral border of the bicipital groove may serve as a useful intraoperative landmark for assessing proximal humeral rotation. This could potentially enhance the outcomes of humeral fracture repair and upper arm arthroplasty. | Lee, Hyun-Joo; Joung, Sanghyun; Kholinne, Erica; Lee, Suk-Joong; Yoon, Jong Pil; Tan, Jun; Jeon, In-Ho | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Orthopaed Surg, 130 Donguk Ro, Daegu 41944, South Korea; AIRS, Seoul, South Korea; Univ Trisakti, St Carolus Hosp, Fac Med, Dept Orthoped Surg, Jakarta, Indonesia; Gyeongsang Natl Univ, Changwon Hosp, Dept Orthopaed Surg, Chang Won, South Korea; Nantong Univ, Dept Hand Surg, Affiliated Hosp, Nantong, Peoples R China; Univ Ulsan, Sch Med, Asan Med Ctr, Dept Orthopaed Surg, Seoul, South Korea | Deslivia, Maria Florencia/IAQ-9858-2023; LEE, JIN/Q-3108-2018; Kholinne, Erica/AAI-7093-2020 | lidmania@daum.net; | EWHA MEDICAL JOURNAL | EWHA MED J | 2234-3180 | 2234-2591 | 47 | 2 | ESCI | MEDICINE, GENERAL & INTERNAL | 2024 | 0.2 | 79.7 | 0 | Humerus; Rotational alignment; Sawbone model; Bicipital groove; Estimation | SHAFT FRACTURE; STATE | English | 2024 | 2024-04 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | THE INTERNATIONAL COMPARISON OF MARITIME LOGISTICS EFFICIENCY FOR 29 MAJOR COASTAL COUNTRIES | Purpose : This paper examines integrated maritime logistics efficiency at the national level using DEA-CCR, BCC, and super-efficiency DEA(SEDEA). In addition, this paper investigates a difference between the selected 29 countries' maritime logistics efficiency and overall logistics performance as an ad-hoc analysis. Design/methodology/approach : Adopting the DEA and SE-DEA approach, this study evaluates the maritime logistics efficiency scores and rankings of 29 selected countries. The input variables are the number of container ports, the container fleet of control, and the level of seaport service. The output variables are container throughput and Liner Shipping Connectivity Index. As an ad-hoc analysis, we classify the countries by a 2x2 matrix based on the ranking of efficiency and LPI score to derive common characteristics. Main findings : Asian countries showed higher efficiency, and European countries showed higher LPI scores. These results might be derived from this difference in port development patterns. Additionally, the main cause of inefficiency in Europe and Japan might be attributed to the high fleet capacity of control. Originality/value : This paper empirically analyzes a new integrated model that could measure maritime transport and port, especially from a container shipping and port perspective. Consequently, this study may provide valuable implications for coastal countries to set more efficient directions for maritime logistics investment and policy. | Choi, Jeong-Won; Seo, Young-Joon; Kim, Changhee; Kim, Chang-Soo | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Int Trade, Daegu, South Korea; Incheon Natl Univ, Coll Business Adm, Incheon 22012, South Korea; Pusan Natl Univ, Dept Int Trade, Busan, South Korea | Kim, Chang/S-7927-2019; Seo, Young-Joon/AAY-6105-2021 | 58644952600; 59815505100; 57044921900; 57204212437 | chlwjddnjs73@knu.ac.kr;y.seo@knu.ac.kr;ckim@inu.ac.kr;kcs4194@pusan.ac.kr; | INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF TRANSPORT ECONOMICS | INT J TRANSP ECON | 0391-8440 | 51 | 1-2 | SSCI | ECONOMICS;TRANSPORTATION | 2024 | 0.5 | 80.1 | 0 | 2025-05-07 | 0 | 0 | Maritime Logistics; Efficiency; Data Envelopment Analysis; Port; Coastal Country | DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS; SUPER-EFFICIENCY; CONTAINER PORTS; DEA; COMPETITIVENESS; PERFORMANCE; SUSTAINABILITY; PRODUCTIVITY; ADAPTATION; MANAGEMENT | Coastal Country; Data Envelopment Analysis; Efficiency; Maritime Logistics; Port | Europe; Japan; container ship; data envelopment analysis; international comparison; logistics; maritime transportation; port development; shipping | English | 2024 | 2024-06 | 10.19272/202406702002 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Application of nickel hexacyanoferrate and manganese dioxide-polyacrylonitrile (NM-PAN) for the removal of Co²⁺, Sr²⁺ and Cs⁺ from radioactive wastewater | In this study, a nickel hexacyanoferrate and manganese dioxide-polyacrylonitrile (NM-PAN) composite was synthesized and used for the sorptive removal of Co2+, Sr2+, and Cs+ in radioactive laundry wastewater. Single- and multi-solute competitive sorptions onto NM-PAN were investigated. The Freundlich (Fr), Langmuir (Lang), Kargi-Ozm & imath;hci (K-O), Koble-Corrigan (K-C), and Langmuir-Freundlich (Lang-Fr) models satisfactorily predicted all the single sorption data. The sorption isotherms were nonlinearly favorable (Freundlich coefficient, NF = 0.385-0.426). Cs+ has the highest maximum sorption capacity ( q mL = 0.855 mmol g-1) for NM-PAN compared to Co2+ and Sr2+, wherein the primary mechanism was the physical process (mainly ion-exchange). The competition between the metal ions in the binary and ternary systems reduced the respective sorption capacities. Binary and ternary sorption models, such as the ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST) model coupled with single sorption models of IAST-Fr, IAST-K-O, IAST-K-C and IAST-Lang-Fr, were fitted to the experimental data; among these, the IAST-Freundlich model showed the most satisfactory prediction for the binary and ternary systems. The presence of cationic surfactants highly affected the sorption on NM-PAN due to the increase in distribution coefficients (Kd) of Co2+ and Cs+. | Al Masud, Md Abdullah; Shin, Won Sik | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Architecture Civil Environm & Energy Engn, 80 Daehakro, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Masud, Md Abdullah Al/JEF-1055-2023 | 59235218100; 23019870800 | wshin@knu.ac.kr; | MEMBRANE AND WATER TREATMENT | MEMBR WATER TREAT | 2005-8624 | 2092-7037 | 15 | 2 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, CHEMICAL;WATER RESOURCES | 2024 | 1.1 | 80.3 | 0 | 2025-05-07 | 1 | 0 | IAST; multi-solute sorption; NM-PAN; radioactive; wastewater | AQUEOUS-SOLUTION; ADSORPTION; CESIUM; SORPTION; STRONTIUM; COMPOSITE; COBALT; IONS; RADIONUCLIDES; EQUILIBRIUM | IAST; multi-solute sorption; NM–PAN; radioactive; wastewater | Cationic surfactants; Dyes; Ion exchange; Manganese oxide; Nickel compounds; Radioactivity; Sorption; Ternary systems; Cs +; Freundlich; Ideal adsorbed solution theory; Langmuirs; Multi solutes; Multi-solute sorption; Nickel hexacyanoferrate; NM–PAN; Radioactive; Solute sorption; Metal ions | English | 2024 | 2024-04 | 10.12989/mwt.2024.15.2.067 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Five- and 10-year survival in extramammary Paget's disease: A focus on wide local excision | AimThis study aimed to analyze extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD)-specific survival, overall survival, and recurrence rate (RR) in patients with EMPD in South Korea, with a focus on wide local excision. MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with EMPD from 1993 to 2020 at Kyungpook National University Hospital. We determined the survival and RRs after wide local excision. ResultsA total of 95 patients (66 males and 29 females; mean age 67.4 years) were included. The 5-year disease-specific survival and overall survival were 91.8% and 79.3%, respectively, whereas the 10-year rates were 81.6% and 64.7%, respectively. No significant sex differences were observed. Seventy-five patients (78.9%) underwent wide local excision. Mucosal involvement and lymphadenopathy were identified as the significant prognostic factors of disease-specific survival in multivariate analysis. The RR was 14.7% in patients who underwent wide local excision: seven local, two regional, and two distant metastases, with a mean recurrence-free interval of 42.3 months. ConclusionBased on the survival and RRs obtained, surgical treatment of EMPD with wide local excision provides fair curative resection. Practitioner pointsWide local excision can be a feasible treatment option for extramammary Paget's disease. | Ha, Dae-Lyong; Ha, Gi Ung; Kim, Jun Young; Han, Man-Hoon; Lee, Hyun Jung; Hong, Dae Gy; Lee, Jeong Eun; Chung, Ho Yun; Lee, Seok-Jong | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Dermatol, 130 Dongdeok Ro, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Pathol, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Obstet & Gynecol, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Radiat Oncol, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Plast & Reconstruct Surg, Daegu, South Korea | Lee, Joong/A-5417-2013 | 57201367090; 57783275400; 35310922800; 57194067936; 57202930844; 26656670100; 57206732333; 7404007181; 56013454400 | seokjong@knu.ac.kr; | ASIA-PACIFIC JOURNAL OF CLINICAL ONCOLOGY | ASIA-PAC J CLIN ONCO | 1743-7555 | 1743-7563 | 20 | 5 | SCIE | ONCOLOGY | 2024 | 1.6 | 80.5 | 0 | 2025-05-07 | 1 | 1 | extramammary Paget's disease; margin of excision; recurrence rate; Republic of Korea; survival rates | MOHS MICROGRAPHIC SURGERY; PROGNOSTIC-FACTOR; RECURRENCE; GENITALIA; VULVA | extramammary Paget's disease; margin of excision; recurrence rate; Republic of Korea; survival rates | Adult; Aged; Aged, 80 and over; Female; Humans; Male; Middle Aged; Neoplasm Recurrence, Local; Paget Disease, Extramammary; Prognosis; Republic of Korea; Retrospective Studies; Survival Rate; aminolevulinic acid; fluorouracil; imiquimod; ingenol mebutate; adult; aged; Article; cancer prognosis; cancer specific survival; chemoradiotherapy; controlled study; distant metastasis; female; human; human cell; human tissue; Korea; local metastasis; lymphadenopathy; major clinical study; male; medical record review; middle aged; mucosa; multivariate analysis; overall survival; Paget skin disease; photodynamic therapy; recurrence risk; regional metastasis; retrospective study; sex difference; university hospital; wide excision; epidemiology; mortality; Paget skin disease; pathology; prognosis; South Korea; surgery; survival rate; tumor recurrence; very elderly | English | 2024 | 2024-10 | 10.1111/ajco.13964 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | Article | Korea's Court Denies Japan's State Immunity Again | On November 23, 2023, the Seoul High Court issued a ruling excluding Japan’s state immunity and fully accepting the claims of Japanese military ‘comfort women’ victims, following the one made by the Seoul Central District Court to the same effect on January 8, 2021. The rulings of the Korean courts are groundbreaking, contributing to the establishment of customary international law by clearly declaring that state immunity does not apply when a sovereign act of the state constitutes a serious violation of human rights, and furthermore, when it constitutes a tort. The Korean courts’ rulings in turn reflect the international community’s legal judgment regarding Japanese military ‘comfort women’ over the past 30 years. The Japanese government did not respond to the lawsuits at all and condemned the rulings as violating international law, claiming state immunity. However, the Japanese government’s condemnation is just a self-contradiction, as it enacted an act embodying the customary international law that foreign countries are not exempt from jurisdiction over court proceedings in case of torts. © 2024, Asia-Pacific Journal, Inc. | ○ | ○ | Article | ACOUSTIC RADIATION BEAM PATTERNS OF DIFFERENT POLYGONAL PISTON SURFACES | Transducers are used in acoustic remote sensing and several other modern applications. The radiating surface geometry of a single acoustic transducer affects its beam pattern and has a cumulative effect on the overall performance of an array configuration. In addition, the transducers with polygon radiating surfaces provide more compact structure in an array than the circular pistons due to their flat surface edges. However, until now, the radiation patterns of acoustic polygonal pistons have not been exclusively studied and documented. In this study, the directional factors of acoustic pistons with polygonal surfaces of three to ten sides were derived analytically from the first principle using the Rayleigh integral. These directional factors were used to synthesise and characterise the radiation patterns of the piston sources in comparison with the baffled circular piston of an equivalent surface area. The rectangular, the triangular, and the rest of the polygons have the same performance with the circular piston when the surface diameter is not higher than 0.5 lambda, 0.28 lambda and 0.43 lambda, respectively. The main lobe of the acoustic emissions from the square is very close to that of the circular piston whose diameter is greater than a wavelength while that of the rectangle is wider. The results show that the radiating surface perimeter and symmetry are the two most critical factors affecting the beam characteristics of a piston source rather than the surface area or the number of sides. | ○ | ○ | Article | 'I Feel Like I'm with You; Therefore, I'm Having Fun': The Effects of Social Comparison and Belongingness on Continuous Play Intention for Online Games and Loyalty | Playing a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is no longer just a personal hobby, and the genre has evolved into a forum that encourages continual interaction among its users. To determine the motivation behind the user's participation of MMORPG, we suggest social comparison and self-expansion theories. Specifically, this study proposes a research model that comprehensively identifies the effects of psychological motives (social comparison motive and belongingness) and immersive gaming behaviors (social presence and flow experience) on behavioral factors (continuous play intention and loyalty). We analyzed 274 valid survey questionnaire responses. Our findings contribute to a growing body of literature that identifies the motives of users to play MMORPGs by applying social comparison and self-expansion theories to understand the factors that influence people to play MMORPGs. | ○ | ○ | Article | Anthroponics: Application and effects on growth of parsley, rhipsalis, coriander, and basil fed with urine fertiliser | Urine has emerged as a promising nutrient-rich waste stream suitable for plant fertigation. Biological nitrification in a membrane bioreactor offers an effective method for producing liquid fertiliser from urine, extracting essential nutrients into a final product. Despite the increasing interest in hydroponics and urban horticulture, research exploring the efficacy of urine-derived fertilisers remains scarce. This study employed three growing systems, including nutrient film technique open channels in outdoor setup, pot-drench under glasshouse conditions, and deep-water culture (DWC) under laboratory conditions to investigate the efficiency of urinederived fertiliser compared to commercial fertilisers. The results demonstrated comparable growth responses in parsley, rhipsalis, coriander, and basil, as demonstrated by the analysis of several parameters including biomass, stem numbers and length, and nutritional composition in shoots and roots. In conclusion, urine-derived fertilisers showed promising potential as a sustainable alternative to synthetic fertilisers, laying the foundation for the development of a circular economy of nutrients in agriculture. | Sohn, Weonjung; El Saliby, Ibrahim; Merenda, Andrea; Phuntsho, Sherub; Freguia, Stefano; Guan, Jing; Gao, Li; Lee, Sungyun; Shon, Ho Kyong | Univ Technol, Ctr Technol Water & Wastewater, Sch Civil & Environm Engn, Sydney, NSW 2007, Australia; Bot Gardens & Centennial Parklands, Mrs Macquarie Rd, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia; Univ Melbourne, Fac Engn & Informat Technol, Dept Chem Engn, Melbourne, Vic 3010, Australia; Beijing Origin Water Membrane Technol Co Ltd, Beijing 101400, Peoples R China; South East Water, Frankston, Vic 3199, Australia; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Environm & Safety Engn, 2559 Gyeongsang daero, Sangju 37224, South Korea | ; PHUNTSHO, SHERUB/H-1064-2014; Shon, Ho/P-7057-2015; Merenda, Andrea/ABC-2070-2020 | 57221444267; 28067616700; 57190618579; 23971296800; 14524564100; 57206567847; 55446429400; 36438267000; 6701629946 | Hokyong.Shon-1@uts.edu.au; | DESALINATION AND WATER TREATMENT | DESALIN WATER TREAT | 1944-3994 | 1944-3986 | 320 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, CHEMICAL;WATER RESOURCES | 2024 | 1 | 81.4 | 0.39 | 2025-05-07 | 2 | 2 | Source-separated urine; Nutrient recovery; Anthroponic; Hydroponic; Fertiliser; Circular economy | NITRITE; WATER; TOXICITY | Anthroponic; Circular economy; Fertiliser; Hydroponic; Nutrient recovery; Source-separated urine | bioreactor; economics; fertilizer application; hydrophone; nitrification; urine | English | 2024 | 2024-10 | 10.1016/j.dwt.2024.100682 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Biochars and modified-biochars for toxic-metal/metalloid ions sorption in various mixed solution systems: A review on kinetic and isotherm models | Both biochars (BCs) and modified-biochars (MBCs) for toxic-metal/metalloid ions (TMIs) removal from water have caught much attention owing to their exceptional properties such as eco-friendly, low-carbon emission and cost-effective. However, reviews on the exploration of theoretical models of BCs and MBCs in various systems are unobtainable. To give a summary of theoretical models on BCs and MBCs for TMIs removal in various solution systems, this review will center on some typical kinetic and isotherm equations of BCs and MBCs for TMIs sorption in a single, mixed, mixed metal ions/organic substance solutions. Typically, two-parameter and threeparameter kinetic and isotherm equations of BCs and MBCs for TMIs sorption were stressed. The comparisons of these models in various solution systems were drawn. It was found that P-2nd-O kinetic model, Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models are the dominating adsorption manners for TMIs in various MSSs. Especially, only the kinetic models of Cu(II), Pb(II), Cr(VI) and Cd(II) sorption, as well as the isotherms of Cu(II) and Cd(II) sorption on BCs and MBCs were reported in these MSSs. We hope such a summary will be favorable for the accurately selecting of optimal models to explain the sorption processes in different metal-solution systems. | Liu, Chen; Yan, Xin; Zhang, He-Xin; Yang, Jian-ming; Yoon, Keun-Byoung | Anhui Univ Technol, Sch Mat Sci & Engn, Maanshan 243032, Anhui, Peoples R China; Anhui Univ Technol, Sch Chem & Chem Engn, Maanshan 243032, Anhui, Peoples R China; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Polymer Sci & Engn, Daegu, South Korea | Hexin, Zhang/ACI-3911-2022; Yang, Jianming/H-3147-2018; Yan, Xin/T-3621-2019 | 58606037500; 57222030771; 25633288200; 57192669382; 7401607550 | hxzhang@ahut.edu.cn;jianming1072@163.com;kbyoon@knu.ac.kr; | DESALINATION AND WATER TREATMENT | DESALIN WATER TREAT | 1944-3994 | 1944-3986 | 319 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, CHEMICAL;WATER RESOURCES | 2024 | 1 | 81.4 | 1.18 | 2025-05-07 | 6 | 7 | Biochar; Modified biochar; Kinetic model; Isotherm model; Sorption; Metal/metalloid ions | ZINC(II) METAL-IONS; AQUEOUS-SOLUTION; COMPETITIVE ADSORPTION; ACTIVATED CARBON; HEAVY-METALS; MAGNETIC BIOCHAR; COPPER IONS; NANOPARTICLES ADSORPTION; HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM; BIOSORPTIVE REMOVAL | Biochar; Isotherm model; Kinetic model; Metal/metalloid ions; Modified biochar; Sorption | accuracy assessment; biochar; cost-benefit analysis; ionic composition; isotherm; metalloid; pollutant removal; reaction kinetics; sorption; theoretical study | English | 2024 | 2024-07 | 10.1016/j.dwt.2024.100404 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Determination for minimum symbol-pair and RT weights via torsional degrees of repeated-root cyclic codes | There are various metrics for researching error-correcting codes. Especially, high density data storage system gives the existence of inconsistency for the reading and writing process. The symbol-pair metric is motivated for outputs that have overlapping pairs of symbols in a certain channel. The Rosenbloom-Tsfasman (RT) metric is introduced since there exists a problem that is related to transmission over several parallel communication channels with some channels not available for the transmission. In this paper, we determine the minimum symbol-pair weight and RT weight of repeated-root cyclic codes over R = IF(p)m[u]/?u(4)? of length n = p(k). For the determination, we explicitly present third torsional degree for all different types of cyclic codes over R of length n. | Kim, Boran | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Teachers Coll, Dept Math Educ, 80 Daehakro, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 56909090000 | bkim21@knu.ac.kr; | APPLICABLE ALGEBRA IN ENGINEERING COMMUNICATION AND COMPUTING | APPL ALGEBR ENG COMM | 0938-1279 | 1432-0622 | 35 | 4 | SCIE | COMPUTER SCIENCE, INTERDISCIPLINARY APPLICATIONS;COMPUTER SCIENCE, THEORY & METHODS;MATHEMATICS, APPLIED | 2024 | 0.6 | 81.8 | 0 | 2025-05-07 | 2 | 0 | Cyclic code; Torsional degree; Symbol-pair weight; RT weight | CONSTACYCLIC CODES; GALOIS RINGS; LINEAR CODES; LENGTH P(K); CLASSIFICATION; CONSTRUCTION | Cyclic code; Primary 94B15; RT weight; Secondary 94B05; Symbol-pair weight; Torsional degree | Codes (symbols); Transmissions; Cyclic code; Data storage systems; Error correcting code; High density data storage; Repeated-root cyclic codes; Rosenbloom-Tsfasman metric; Rosenbloom–tsfasman weight; Symbol-pair weight; Torsional degree; Writing process; Digital storage | English | 2024 | 2024-07 | 10.1007/s00200-023-00605-7 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
