| ○ | ○ | Article | DEVELOPMENT OF CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORK MODEL FOR CLASSIFICATION OF CARDIOMEGALY X-RAY IMAGES | In this study, the effect of the input image format on the accuracy in deep learning (DL) was evaluated using tagged image file format (TIFF), PNG, and JPEG images converted from DICOM images. Based on the evaluation results, a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based DL model was proposed. The training and test data used in this study were chest X-ray images of patients diagnosed with normal heart or cardiomegaly conditions. CNN models, namely VGGNet, ResNet, InceptionNet (GoogleNet), DenseNet, and EfficientNet, were used to compare the results according to the types of input images, that is, images converted from DICOM images into TIFF, PNG, and JPEG images. The classification performance was validated by proposing a CNN model that can classify normal hearts and cardiomegaly in chest X-ray images. In this study, through medical imaging research using deep learning, it was demonstrated that the classification performance was unaffected even when the DICOM image was converted into any format and used as an input image. In addition, the proposed CNN model exhibited excellent performance in classifying normal hearts and cardiomegaly on X-ray images. This can be used in various studies that aim to apply DL to medical images by providing information according to the input image type and is also considered to aid in the selection of image type and learning parameters. The proposed model is expected to yield useful results for the classification of diseases in chest X-ray images. | Kim, Min-Jeong; Kim, Jung-Hun | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Biomed Engn, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Biomed Res Inst, Daegu, South Korea | 57911921300; 58567949800 | kmj5832@naver.com;fainal2@naver.com; | JOURNAL OF MECHANICS IN MEDICINE AND BIOLOGY | J MECH MED BIOL | 0219-5194 | 1793-6810 | 22 | 08 | SCIE | BIOPHYSICS;ENGINEERING, BIOMEDICAL | 2022 | 0.8 | 95.0 | 0.32 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 4 | Chest X-ray; cardiomegaly; convolutional neural network; classification; deep learning | cardiomegaly; Chest X-ray; classification; convolutional neural network; deep learning | Convolution; Deep learning; Image classification; Learning systems; Medical imaging; Neural network models; Patient monitoring; Cardiomegaly; Chest X-ray; Chest X-ray image; Convolutional neural network; Deep learning; Image file formats; Input image; JPEG image; Neural network model; X-ray image; Convolutional neural networks | English | 2022 | 2022-10 | 10.1142/s0219519422400206 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | IMPROVEMENT OF INCEPTIONV3 MODEL CLASSIFICATION PERFORMANCE USING CHEST X-RAY IMAGES | In this study, we attempted to confirm whether the InceptionV3 model, which shows excellent performance in lung disease classification using chest X-ray images, is suitable for cardiac disease classification. In addition, we proposed a method for improving classification accuracy by improving the structure of the existing InceptionV3 model. The deep learning model used in this study was a modified version of the fully-connected hierarchical structure of InceptionV3. The proposed InceptionV3 model structure was constructed to differentiate between a normal heart and hypertrophic heart. The data used for model training were trained after data augmentation on 1026 chest X-ray images of patients diagnosed with normal heart and cardiac hypertrophy at Kyungpook National University Hospital. The experiment showed a learning classification accuracy of 99.57% and loss of 1.42% for the original InceptionV3 model. The accuracy and loss of the modified InceptionV3 model were 99.81% and 0.92%, respectively. Its classification performance was evaluated based on precision, recall, and F1 score. For a normal heart, precision, recall and F1 score were 78%, 100% and 88%, respectively. For cardiomegaly, classification accuracy, recall and F1 score were 78%, 100% and 88%, respectively. Conversely, the modified model showed 100% precision, 92% recall and 96% F1 score. For cardiomegaly, classification accuracy, recall rate and F1 score were 95, 100 and 97%, respectively. In conclusion, better classification can be achieved if the chest X-ray images for a normal heart and cardiomegaly are classified using the proposed model. Hence, the reliability of the classification performance gradually increases. | Kim, Jung-Hun | Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Biomed Res Inst, Daegu, South Korea | 58567949800 | fainal2@naver.com; | JOURNAL OF MECHANICS IN MEDICINE AND BIOLOGY | J MECH MED BIOL | 0219-5194 | 1793-6810 | 22 | 08 | SCIE | BIOPHYSICS;ENGINEERING, BIOMEDICAL | 2022 | 0.8 | 95.0 | 0.56 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 7 | Deep learning; classification; InceptionV3; cardiomegaly; chest X-ray | cardiomegaly; chest X-ray; classification; Deep learning; InceptionV3 | Deep learning; Image classification; Image enhancement; Learning systems; Patient monitoring; Cardiomegaly; Chest X-ray; Chest X-ray image; Classification accuracy; Classification performance; Deep learning; Disease classification; F1 scores; Inceptionv3; Model classification; Heart | English | 2022 | 2022-10 | 10.1142/s0219519422400322 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | In Situ Photo-crosslinkable Biodegradable Tissue Adhesive for Wound Healing | Tissue adhesives are widely used in various medical fields for tissue bonding and wound closure. Existing glue-type tissue adhesives have disadvantages such as low biocompatibility or a long reaction time to achieve firm tissue adhesion. Herein we developed photocurable tissue adhesives by introducing photocrosslinkable methacrylate (MA) groups into biodegradable hyaluronic acid (HA) that enables strong tissue adhesion and wound sealing. The photocurable tissue adhesive formed a stable hydrogel layer with good tissue adhesion following short UV exposure (<5 s). By controlling the substitution rate of MA and polymer concentration, the mechanical properties and adhesion strength of the tissue adhesive could be easily manipulated. From the incisional wound animal model, the HA-based tissue adhesive used in this study showed better tissue adhesion and faster wound healing efficacy compared to commercial glues. Considering the high biocompatibility and biodegradability of HA, this photocurable adhesive would be useful in wound healing of various soft tissues. | Lee, Hyeseon; Seong, Keum-Yong; Kim, Sodam; Chandrasekharan, Ajeesh; Hwang, Dae Youn; Hahn, Young Ki; Baek, Moon-Chang; Lee, Jun; Yang, Seung Yun | Pusan Natl Univ, Dept Biomat Sci BK21 Four Program, Coll Nat Resources & Life Sci, Miryang 50463, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Convergence, Dept Biomed Convergence Sci & Technol, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Cell & Matrix Res Inst, Sch Med, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Mol Med, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Wonkwang Univ, Sch Dent, Dept Oral & Maxillofacial Surg, Coll Dent, Iksan 54538, South Korea | Yang, Seung/B-5974-2016; Chandrasekharan, Ajeesh/AAX-7946-2021 | 57211576277; 56473397700; 57204971170; 57205031602; 26325632700; 16052846700; 7006013097; 55121680500; 57571328800 | syang@pusan.ac.kr;omslee@wku.ac.kr; | POLYMER-KOREA | POLYM-KOREA | 0379-153X | 2234-8077 | 46 | 2 | SCIE | POLYMER SCIENCE | 2022 | 0.4 | 95.9 | 0.17 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | photo-crosslinking; hyaluronic acid; wound healing; tissue adhesive | HYDROGEL; GLUE | hyaluronic acid; photo-crosslinking; tissue adhesive; wound healing | Korean | 2022 | 2022-03 | 10.7317/pk.2022.46.2.216 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Influence of Blend Ratio on Long-Term Thermal Aging and Oil Resistance in Fluorosilicone/Silicone Rubber | In this study, fluorosilicone rubber (FVMQ) and silicone rubber (VMQ) blends were prepared depending on the blend ratio. The processability and compatibility, compression set, long-term heat resistance, and oil resistance of the blends were comprehensively evaluated. It was confirmed to have a similar crosslinking system and improve the processability of the blend with increasing ratio of VMQ by the moving-die rheometer and Mooney viscometer measurements. In addition, the compatibility of FVMQ and VMQ was found by using scanning electron microscopy. As the ratio of FVMQ increased, the elongation at break increased, and the oil resistance was affected by the correlation between the type of the test oil and blend ratio of FVMQ/VMQ. Therefore, the results of this study are applicable to the development and application of FVMQ/VMQ products for long-term thermal aging and oil resistance. | Park, Hae Youn; Kim, Tae Hee; Kim, Do Young; Seo, Kwan Ho; Kang, Dong Gug; Kim, Hye Young; Lee, Dong Yun | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Polymer Sci & Engn, 80 Daehak Ro, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Pyung Hwa Oil Seal Ind Co LTD, Res & Dev Institue, 42 Nongongjungang Ro 51 Gil, Daegu 42982, South Korea | , Do Young Kim/AAB-1459-2021; Kim, Tae/B-9921-2013 | 12804224400; 57447144000; 56802861000; 7201838965; 36875422200; 57219214776; 57211001605 | dongyunlee@knu.ac.kr; | POLYMER-KOREA | POLYM-KOREA | 0379-153X | 2234-8077 | 46 | 1 | SCIE | POLYMER SCIENCE | 2022 | 0.4 | 95.9 | 0.17 | 2025-06-25 | 1 | 2 | fluorosilicone; silicone; rubber blend; heat aging; oil resistance | SILICONE-RUBBER; SOLUBILITY; FLUORORUBBER | Fluorosilicone; Heat aging; Oil resistance; Rubber blend; Silicone | Korean | 2022 | 2022-01 | 10.7317/pk.2022.46.1.127 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Inhibition of TRPM7 suppresses migration and invasion of prostate cancer cells via inactivation of ERK1/2, Src and Akt pathway signaling | Background: Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer related death in males worldwide. Most patients show no response to androgen deprivation therapy in case of recurrence and proceed to advanced stage with metastasis. TRPM7 is reported to be upregulated in diverse types of tumors. Methods: We analyzed the expression of TRPM7 and related proteins by Western blotting analysis. We performed cell migration and invasion assay to analyze the relationship between tumor aggressiveness and TRPM7. In addition, we proceeded an animal study by using stable TRPM7 knockdown cell line in xenograft. Results: In our results, TRPM7 regulates prostate cancer cell biology including proliferation, migration and invasion through ERK1/2, PI3K J Akt and JNK signaling pathways. We produced stable TRPM7 knockdown prostate cancer cell line. To analyze the relationship between TRPM7 and tumorigenesis, we proceeded migration and invasion assay as well as xenograft model. TRPM7 down-regulated DU145 cells showed suppressed migratory and invasion ability, 0.65- and 0.05-fold, respectively. In addition, we confirmed that the anti-cancer effect of TRPM7 is mediated through inactivation of ERK1/2, Src and Akt signaling pathways by western blotting analysis. P-ERK1/2, p-Src, and p-Akt expressions were reduced to 0.66-, 0.68-, and 0.66-fold, respectively. Moreover, we treated ERIC, Akt and Src inhibitors to clarify the involvement of related each protein in migration and invasion ability, and we could observe that inhibitor treated cells showed suppressed migration and invasion ability. In vivo, TRPM7 knockdown cells projected decreased cell proliferation rate. Conclusions: Taken these results together, out study suggested TRPM7 might be an essential gene for prostate cancer metastasis by regulating prostate cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion ability. | Lee, Eun Hye; Lee, Jun Nyung; Park, Song; Chun, So Young; Yoon, Bo Hyun; Chung, Jae-Wook; Choi, Seock Hwan; Kim, Bum Soo; Kim, Hyun Tae; Kim, Tae Hwan; Yoo, Eun Sang; Lee, Sangkyu; Choi, Jae Young; Kwon, Tae Gyun; Ha, Yun-Sok | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Joint Inst Regenerat Med, Daegu 41571, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Urol, Daegu 41571, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Urol, Chilgok Hosp, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Daegu Gyeongbuk Inst Sci & Technol DGIST, Dept Brain & Cognit Sci, Core Prot Resources Ctr, Daegu 42988, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, BioMed Res Inst, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Urol, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Pharm, BK21 Plus KNU Multiom Based Creat Drug Res Team, Res Inst Pharmaceut Sci, Daegu 41571, South Korea; Yeungnam Univ, Dept Urol, Coll Med, Daegu 42415, South Korea | Kim, Tae/B-9921-2013; Kim, Soo-Yeon/ADR-9663-2022; Choi, Jae-Young/AAW-2795-2021 | 57189661699; 16301364600; 57139047900; 8688166900; 57218931150; 35204798500; 9742645500; 57202817150; 55739531300; 57797823600; 7006609239; 57209046767; 55722526800; 15073765400; 35487226400 | tgkwon@knu.ac.kr;yunsokha@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF MENS HEALTH | J MENS HEALTH | 1875-6867 | 1875-6859 | 18 | 7 | SCIE;SSCI | PUBLIC, ENVIRONMENTAL & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH | 2022 | 0.7 | 95.9 | 3.18 | 2025-06-25 | 17 | 18 | Prostate cancer therapy; Transient receptor potential cation channel-subfamily M member 7; Migration ability; Cell proliferation; Src signaling | SERUM-CALCIUM; ACTIVATION; PROLIFERATION; INCREASE | Cell proliferation; Migration ability; Prostate cancer therapy; Src signaling; Transient receptor potential cation channel-subfamily M member 7 | 2 (2 amino 3 methoxyphenyl)chromone; 2 morpholino 8 phenylchromone; bosutinib; mitogen activated protein kinase 1; mitogen activated protein kinase 3; protein kinase B; protein tyrosine kinase; small interfering RNA; transient receptor potential channel M7; aged; animal experiment; animal model; animal tissue; Article; body mass; cancer staging; carcinogenesis; cell invasion; cell migration; cell proliferation; controlled study; DU145 cell line; gene knockdown; gene silencing; Gleason score; human; human cell; human tissue; in vivo study; major clinical study; male; migration inhibition; mouse; nonhuman; prostate cancer; protein expression; tumor invasion; tumor xenograft; Western blotting | English | 2022 | 2022-07 | 10.31083/j.jomh1807144 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Long-term protective effect of tadalafil on spermatogenesis following testicular ischemia-reperfusion injury in a rat model | Background: Testicular torsion is a urologic emergency that can lead to testicular atrophy and infertility owing to ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term protective effect of tadalafil, a phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction, on spermatogenesis in a rat testicular model of IRI. Methods: Forty-eight adolescent Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into six groups of 8 each (A-F). Sham operation was performed on group A. Group B underwent surgical 720 degrees torsion of the left testis without any medication. Groups C, D, E and F underwent surgical torsion and administration of tadalafil at varying doses (0.3 and 1.0 mg/kg) and durations (single or daily administration for four weeks). After three hours of torsion, detorsion was performed on all groups except group A. Four weeks after the operation, both testes were evaluated for spermatogenesis using the Johnsen scoring system. To evaluate the protective effect of tadalafil against oxidative stress induced by WI, the malondialdehyde and superoxide dismutase levels of both testes were analyzed four hours after detorsion using the same experimental protocol as for groups A, B, and C. Results: Experimental groups treated with high-dose tadalafil showed higher Johnsen scores for spermatogenesis than the low-dose groups. Groups that received daily tadalafil administration for four weeks showed higher Johnsen scores than those receiving single doses. Furthermore, histopathologic findings and molecular markers related to oxidative stress were markedly improved following tadalafil administration. Conclusions: Tadalafil alleviated the oxidative stress and long-term deterioration of spermatogenesis in a rat testicular model of IRI by restoring the antioxidant status. | Kim, Bomi; Lee, EunHye; Yoon, BoHyun; Chun, So Young; Chung, Jae-Wook; Ha, Yun-Sok; Kim, Bum Soo; Yoon, Ghil Suk; Choi, Jae Young; Song, Phil Hyun; Kwon, Tae Gyun; Lee, Jun Nyung | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Biomed Sci, Grad Sch Educ, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Joint Inst Regenerat Med, Daegu 41404, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, BioMed Res Inst, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Urol, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Pathol, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Yeungnam Univ, Coll Med, Dept Urol, Daegu 38541, South Korea | Choi, Jae-Young/AAW-2795-2021; Kim, Soo-Yeon/ADR-9663-2022 | 57218929773; 57189661699; 57218931150; 8688166900; 35204798500; 35487226400; 57202817150; 57204691355; 55722526800; 8644562400; 15073765400; 16301364600 | tgkwon@knu.ac.kr;ljnlover@gmail.com; | JOURNAL OF MENS HEALTH | J MENS HEALTH | 1875-6867 | 1875-6859 | 18 | 6 | SCIE;SSCI | PUBLIC, ENVIRONMENTAL & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH | 2022 | 0.7 | 95.9 | 0.35 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | Spermatic cord torsion; Ischemia-reperfusion injury; Phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors; Animal model; Spermatogenesis | TORSION/DETORSION DAMAGE; CONTRALATERAL TESTIS; LIPID-PEROXIDATION; TORSION-DETORSION; SPERMATIC CORD; CELL; INHIBITORS; SILDENAFIL; APOPTOSIS; VARDENAFIL | Animal model; Ischemia-reperfusion injury; Phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors; Spermatic cord torsion; Spermatogenesis | malonaldehyde; molecular marker; superoxide dismutase; tadalafil; adolescent; animal experiment; animal model; animal tissue; Article; controlled study; dose response; drug megadose; enzyme linked immunosorbent assay; histopathology; lipid peroxidation assay; low drug dose; male; nonhuman; oxidative stress; protection; rat; reperfusion injury; seminiferous tubule; sham procedure; single drug dose; spermatogenesis; Sprague Dawley rat; testis atrophy; testis injury; testis tissue; testis torsion | English | 2022 | 2022-06 | 10.31083/j.jomh1806129 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Solvent-free UV-curable Adhesives for a Protective Film by Double Cross-linking | Products such as mobile and display are mostly shipped with a protective film in order to prevent the product from external impacts or scratches. If pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) for a protective film are solvent-or thermosetting types, it may cause non-uniform adhesive force or remain residue on a surface as the PSA film is removed. In this research, we studied on UV-curable adhesive formulation with a high cohesive property made through formation of cross-linking by adding various cross-linkers and metal chelates and found a correlation between formulation and adhesive properties. It was confirmed that the PSA having double cross-linking structure exhibited low peel strength, high shear strength/holding time and was smoothly removable from a surface without residues. As a result of analysis of the UV curing behavior utilizing the rheometer, additionally, the adhesive formulation is quickly cured under UV irradiation, which is suitable for high-speed adhesive process. | Jang, Dong Gyu; Lee, Bae Hwa; Ryu, Seong Ho; Lee, Gang-Young; Park, Dong Hyup; Yoon, Keun-Byoung | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Polymer Sci & Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Soongsil Univ, Dept Safety & Hlth Convergence Engn, Seoul 06978, South Korea; Korea Conform Labs, Appl Polymer Res Ctr, Incheon 21594, South Korea | 57731689500; 58658023800; 58657144800; 58657500000; 37023380900; 7401607550 | kicm8805@kcl.re.kr;kbyoon@knu.ac.kr; | POLYMER-KOREA | POLYM-KOREA | 0379-153X | 2234-8077 | 46 | 3 | SCIE | POLYMER SCIENCE | 2022 | 0.4 | 95.9 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | pressure-sensitive adhesive; UV-curable; solvent-free; residue-free; cohesive | PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVES; PERFORMANCE | cohesive; pressure-sensitive adhesive; residue-free; solvent-free; UV-curable | English | 2022 | 2022-05 | 10.7317/pk.2022.46.3.348 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Comparison of Electromagnetic Performance according to Winding Configuration for Modular Dual 3-Phase Permanent Magnet Machines | A new winding structure for modular dual 3-phase permanent magnet machine, which makes it possible to reduce mutual coupling between two-winding sets of inverters and interference between phases that belong to the same inverter has been proposed in this study. The modular dual 3-phase system with overlapping winding technique has been widely employed in large-scale machine applications such as wind power production; however, its drawbacks include large torque ripple, long end-winding, and large magnetic mutual interference. To address these problems, a new modular dual 3-phase winding can be achieved by replacing adjacent redundant coils in one of the same phase coils with nonoverlapping winding. For clarity, three dual 3-phase machines are selected to examine their differences. The first is 32-poles/96-slots adopting a conventional overlapping modular winding ('Conv-1'), the second is 32-poles/36-slots based on the conventional nonoverlapping winding ('Conv-2'), and the other is 32-poles/36-slots adopting the proposed modular winding configuration ('Proposed'). The validity of the proposed structure is confirmed from simulation results obtained using finite element analysis. | Seo, Jangho | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Automot Engn, Sangju 37224, South Korea | 12791073600 | j.seo@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF MAGNETICS | J MAGN | 1226-1750 | 2233-6656 | 27 | 2 | SCIE | MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;PHYSICS, APPLIED;PHYSICS, CONDENSED MATTER | 2022 | 0.5 | 96.1 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | Dual 3-phase; permanent magnet; wind power generation; winding | Dual 3-phase; permanent magnet; wind power generation; winding | English | 2022 | 2022-06 | 10.4283/jmag.2022.27.2.147 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | Article | Influence of weight ratio of conductive additive to binder in an electrode on the capacity of Li-ion battery | Changes in the charge and discharge capacity of a lithium-ion battery are investigated by varying the percentage weight composition ratios of conductive additive to polymeric binder in an electrode of a lithium-ion battery. The cathode is made of active material (LiMn2O4), binder (PVDF), and conductive additive (carbon black). To investigate the effect of inactive material composition on battery performance experimentally, the weight percentage of active material in the cathode is fixed at 85 wt% and five different ratios of PVDF/carbon black are assessed by varying conductive additive from 1.5 wt% to 13.5 wt% and binder from 13.5 wt% to 1.5 wt% while fabricating lithium-ion batteries. To study particles' cohesive behaviours between inactive materials in the electrode, various SEM images are taken and analysed for five different compositions of carbon black and PVDF. As a result, the improved battery performance is observed at the ratios of 7.5 wt%-10.5 wt% carbon black and 7.5 wt%-4.5 wt% PVDF. | Lee, Jung-hoon; Kim, Cheol | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Mech Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | arlenjh.lee@gmail.com;kimchul@knu.ac.kr; | INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MATERIALS & PRODUCT TECHNOLOGY | INT J MATER PROD TEC | 0268-1900 | 1741-5209 | 65 | 2 | SCIE | MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2022 | 0.5 | 96.1 | 1 | binder material; conductive additive; electrode composition; inactive material; lithium-ion battery | ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES; CATHODE MATERIALS; LIFEPO4 CATHODE; ACTIVE MATERIAL; LITHIUM; COMPOSITE; PERFORMANCE; DISSOLUTION; PARTICLES; OXIDES | English | 2022 | 2022 | 10.1504/ijmpt.2022.124727 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||
| ○ | Article | Robust Design Optimization of a Permanent Magnet Motor from the System-Level Design Perspective | From the system-level design perspective, a robust design optimization method for a permanent magnetic motor is proposed to enhance the dynamic performance of a drive system while maintaining its steady performance. To achieve the goal, an elaborate numerical model for the whole drive system is first constructed by incorporating a control circuit simulator into a finite element analysis tool, and then the influence of motor parameter variations on transient system responses is investigated by means of the method of Taguchi experimental planning. A conventionally customized motor is optimized by the univariate dimension reduction method to ensure the robustness of system performances against manufacturing tolerances. Finally, a comparative performance analysis between two motor drive systems is provided to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method. | Mun, Jaegyeong; Choi, K. | ○ | ○ | Article | Effect of Solution Temperature on Electrodeposition Behavior of Zn-Ni Alloy from Alkaline Zincate Solution | Zn-Ni alloys were electrodeposited on a Cu electrode at 10-5000 A.m(-2) and 5 x 10(4) C.m(-2) in an unagitated zincate solution at 293,313, and 333 K. The effect of solution temperature on the electrodeposition behavior of Zn-Ni alloys from alkaline zincate solutions was investigated. The transition current density at which the deposition behavior shifted from a normal to anomalous codeposition was almost similar at 293 and 313 K but increased at 333 K. The transition current density increased at 333 K due to the enhanced hydrogen evolution and Ni deposition. The current efficiency for alloy deposition increased with solution temperature in both normal (10-50 A.m(-2)) and anomalous (500 A.m(-2)) codepositions region. In a normal codeposition region, Ni deposition and hydrogen evolution mainly occurred, and the current efficiency increased with solution temperature due to a larger promotion effect of increase in solution temperature on the Ni deposition. In an anomalous codeposition region at 500 A.m(-2), Zn deposition and hydrogen evolution mainly occurred, and Zn seems to proceed under a mixed rate-determining process of the charge transfer and diffusion of Zn ions. The current efficiency increased with solution temperature since the diffusion of Zn ions was accelerated. The Ni content in the deposited films increased with solution temperature at all the current densities, since Ni deposition was more accelerated than Zn deposition with increasing solution temperature in the region where the charge transfer process was rate-limiting. The gamma phase of the deposited films increased with increasing solution temperature. | Bae, Sung Hwa; Oue, Satoshi; Taninouchi, Yu-ki; Son, Injoon; Nakano, Hiroaki | Kyushu Univ, Grad Sch Engn, Fukuoka, Japan; Kyushu Univ, Fac Engn, Fukuoka, Japan; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Mat Sci & Met, Daegu, South Korea | 57210171283; 6602167690; 12040525600; 9942975800; 35399160700 | nakano@zaiko.kyushu-u.ac.jp; | TETSU TO HAGANE-JOURNAL OF THE IRON AND STEEL INSTITUTE OF JAPAN | TETSU TO HAGANE | 0021-1575 | 1883-2954 | 108 | 2 | SCIE | METALLURGY & METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING | 2022 | 0.3 | 96.8 | 0.68 | 2025-06-25 | 7 | 7 | zincate; zinc-nickel alloy; electrodeposition; solution temperature; anomalous codeposition; polarization curve; current density; transition current; current efficiency; charge transfer | ANOMALOUS TYPE ELECTRODEPOSITION; NICKEL ALLOY; CONNECTING RELIABILITY; DEPOSITION BEHAVIOR; MICRO STRUCTURE; CURRENT-DENSITY; COATINGS; SULFATE; ADDITIVES; MECHANISM | Anomalous codeposition; Charge transfer; Current density; Current efficiency; Electrodeposition; Polarization curve; Solution temperature; Transition current; Zinc-nickel alloy; Zincate | Binary alloys; Current density; Efficiency; Electrodeposition; Electrodes; Hydrogen; Nickel alloys; Zinc alloys; Alkalines; Anomalous codeposition; Current efficiency; Electro-deposition behaviors; Hydrogen-evolution; Polarization curves; Solution temperature; Transition currents; Zinc-nickel alloys; Zincate; Charge transfer | Japanese | 2022 | 2022-02 | 10.2355/tetsutohagane.tetsu-2021-092 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Some Results on Noetherian Warfield Domains | Let R be a domain. In this paper, we show that if R is one-dimensional, then R is a Noetherian Warfield domain if and only if every maximal ideal of R is 2-generated and for every maximal ideal M of R, M is divisorial in the ring (M : M). We also prove that a Noetherian domain R is a Noetherian Warfield domain if and only if for every maximal ideal M of R, M-2 can be generated by two elements. Finally, we give a sufficient condition under which all ideals of R are strongly Gorenstein projective. | Hu, Kui; Lim, Jung Wook; Zhou, Dechuan | Southwest Univ Sci & Technol, Coll Sci, Mianyang 621010, Sichuan, Peoples R China; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Nat Sci, Dept Math, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 55557444100; 35766755400; 56739669900 | hukui200418@163.com;jwlim@knu.ac.kr;dechuan11119@sina.com; | ALGEBRA COLLOQUIUM | ALGEBR COLLOQ | 1005-3867 | 0219-1733 | 29 | 01 | SCIE | MATHEMATICS, APPLIED;MATHEMATICS | 2022 | 0.3 | 96.8 | 0.25 | 2025-06-25 | 1 | 1 | strongly Gorenstein projective module; Noetherian Warfield domain; strongly Gorenstein Dedekind domain | Noetherian Warfield domain; Strongly Gorenstein Dedekind domain; Strongly Gorenstein projective module | English | 2022 | 2022-03 | 10.1142/s1005386722000062 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Synergistic Effect of Brightener and Solution Temperature on the Electrodeposition Behavior of Zn-Ni Alloy from Alkaline Zincate Solution | Zn-Ni alloys were electrodeposited on a Cu electrode at 10-5000 A.m(-2), 5 x 10(4) C.m(-2), and 293, 313 and 333 K in unagitated zincate solutions containing the reaction product of epichlorohydrin and imidazole (IME) as a brightener. The synergistic effect of IEM and solution temperature on the deposition behavior of Zn-Ni alloy was investigated. The transition current density, at which the deposition behavior shifted from the normal type to anomalous ones, decreased with IME at 293 K, but didn't change regardless of IME addition at 313 and 333 K. The suppression effect of IME on the Zn and Ni depositions during alloy deposition was observed at 293 K, while at 313 and 333 K, the suppression effect was decreased on the Zn deposition but was maintained on the Ni deposition. Therefore, Ni content in deposits significantly decreased with IME as temperature increased. The current efficiency for Zn deposition significantly decreased with IME at 293 K, while the degree of decrease was small at 313 and 333 K. The content of C in deposits was highest at 293 K, and decreased with increasing solution temperature, indicating that the adsorption ability of IME on the cathode decreases with increasing temperature. As a result, the suppression effect of IME on the Zn deposition seems to decrease with increasing temperature. The gloss of deposited films was highest at 293 K. This is attributed to adsorption ability of IME being large at 293 K and deposited films with fine crystals becoming smooth. | Bae, Sung Hwa; Oue, Satoshi; Taninouchi, Yu-ki; Son, Injoon; Nakano, Hiroaki | Kyushu Univ, Grad Sch Engn, Fukuoka, Japan; Kyushu Univ, Fac Engn, Fukuoka, Japan; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Mat Sci & Met, Daegu, South Korea | 57210171283; 6602167690; 12040525600; 9942975800; 35399160700 | nakano@zaiko.kyushu-u.ac.jp; | TETSU TO HAGANE-JOURNAL OF THE IRON AND STEEL INSTITUTE OF JAPAN | TETSU TO HAGANE | 0021-1575 | 1883-2954 | 108 | 4 | SCIE | METALLURGY & METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING | 2022 | 0.3 | 96.8 | 0.39 | 2025-06-25 | 4 | 4 | zincate; zinc-nickel alloy; electrode-position; brightener; anomalous code-position; polarization curve; current density; transition current; current efficiency; solution temperature | COATINGS; MECHANISM; DEPOSITION; SULFATE; ADDITIVES; BATH | anomalous codeposition; brightener; current density; current efficiency; electrode-position; polarization curve; solution temperature; transition current; zinc-nickel alloy; zincate | Efficiency; Electrodes; Nickel alloys; Temperature; Zinc alloys; Anomalous codeposition; Brightener; Current efficiency; Electro-deposition; Imidazol; Polarization curves; Solution temperature; Transition currents; Zinc-nickel alloys; Zincate; Deposits | Japanese | 2022 | 2022-04 | 10.2355/tetsutohagane.tetsu-2021-105 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||

Our analysis reveals that, although they can efficiently pro-cess concurrent queries, the GPU DBMSes we consider still should address various performance concerns including n-way joins, aggregates, and selec-tive scans. | An, Junyoung; Suh, Young-Kyoon; Tak, Byungchul | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Comp Sci & Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57224010954; 55443739900; 6506911621 | jyan@knu.ac.kr;yksuh@knu.ac.kr;bctak@knu.ac.kr; | IEICE TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION AND SYSTEMS | IEICE T INF SYST | 0916-8532 | 1745-1361 | E105D | 11 | SCIE | COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION SYSTEMS;COMPUTER SCIENCE, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING | 2022 | 0.7 | 96.8 | 0.07 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 1 | GPU DBMSes; performance evaluation; TPC-H | GPU DBMSes; performance evaluation; TPC-H | Empirical analysis; GPU DBMSe; GPU-accelerated; Performance; Performance characteristics; Performances evaluation; TPC-H; Graphics processing unit | English | 2022 | 2022-11 | 10.1587/transinf.2022edl8008 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Accurate BER Approximation for SIM with BPSK and Multiple Transmit Apertures over Strong Atmospheric Turbulence | In this letter, we derive a novel and accurate closed-form bit error rate (BER) approximation of the optical wireless communications (OWC) systems for the sub-carrier intensity modulation (SIM) employing binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) with multiple transmit and single receive apertures over strong atmospheric turbulence channels, which makes it possible to effectively investigate and predict the BER performance for various system configurations. Furthermore, we also derive a concise asymptotic BER formula to quantitatively evaluate the asymptotically achievable error performance (i.e., asymptotic diversity and combining gains) in the high signal-to-noise (SNR) regimes. Some numerical results are provided to corroborate the accuracy and effectiveness of our theoretical expressions. | Kang, Jinkyu; Jeong, Seongah; Lee, Hoojin | Myongji Univ, Dept Informat & Commun Engn, Gyeonggi Do, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu, South Korea; Hansung Univ, Div IT Convergence Engn, Seoul, South Korea | Kang, Joonhyuk/C-1771-2011; Jeong, Seongah/I-2863-2017; Jeong, Seongah/ABW-7285-2022 | 56283062100; 55210226900; 57215913990 | hjlee@hansung.ac.kr; | IEICE TRANSACTIONS ON FUNDAMENTALS OF ELECTRONICS COMMUNICATIONS AND COMPUTER SCIENCES | IEICE T FUND ELECTR | 0916-8508 | 1745-1337 | E105A | 2 | SCIE | COMPUTER SCIENCE, HARDWARE & ARCHITECTURE;COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION SYSTEMS;ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC | 2022 | 0.5 | 96.9 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | subcarrier intensity modulation; multiple transmit apertures; bit error rate (BER); strong atmospheric turbulence | SPACE OPTICAL COMMUNICATION; PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS; TIME DIVERSITY; FSO LINK; CHANNEL | bit error rate (BER); multiple transmit apertures; strong atmospheric turbulence; subcarrier intensity modulation | Asymptotic analysis; Atmospheric turbulence; Bit error rate; Chirp modulation; Gas turbines; Multicarrier modulation; Optical communication; Optical signal processing; Phase shift; Signal modulation; Bit error rate; Bit-error rate; Intensity modulations; Multiple transmit; Multiple transmit aperture; Phase-shift keying; Rate approximation; Strong atmospheric turbulence; Sub-carriers; Subcarrier intensity modulation; Binary phase shift keying | English | 2022 | 2022-02 | 10.1587/transfun.2021eal2017 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
