| ○ | ○ | Article | A Numerical Study on the Performance of a Magnesium-Based Automotive Cooling Fan with Bead Structure | This paper presents the numerical analysis of three types of magnesium-based, axial-flow automotive cooling fans. The numerical modeling is conducted for geometrically modified fan designs with and without bead structure. The effect of geometric modifications of the fan blades on the fan performances (P -Q curve), fan efficiency, and energy efficiency is investigated using unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) equations with the sliding mesh methodology. The baseline fan having no-beads is fabricated using 3D printing technology and tested to measure the flow velocity and volumetric flow rate which shows good agreement to the numerical results. Subsequently, fans with beads are further optimized to achieve a significant increase in fan performances. To investigate the fan vibrations, modal analysis is also carried out using magnesium-alloy AZ31 as the fan material. The modal analysis gives natural frequencies of all types of fans which are beyond the fan rotational frequency and seems satisfactory. | Hur, K. H.; Haider, B. A.; Sohn, C. | ○ | ○ | Article | Evaluation of bone grafting for treatment of low-grade chondrosarcoma of long bones | Objective To retrospectively analyze the biological compatibility and oncologic outcomes of autogenous, allogeneic, or combined bone grafting. Methods From April 2000 to December 2016, 37 patients with histologically confirmed low-grade intramedullary chondrosarcoma of the long bones at Kyungpook National University Hospital were enrolled in this retrospective study. All 37 patients underwent intralesional curettage (with or without cryotherapy) followed by bone grafting. Among the 24 patients who underwent cryotherapy, 13 were treated by prophylactic internal fixation (10 in the femur, 1 in the tibia, and 2 in the humerus). Thirteen patients underwent the same treatment without cryotherapy, whereas 12 did not undergo preventive internal fixation. Results A single intraoperative fracture was managed by plate fixation. One patient who underwent cryotherapy and internal fixation developed a fracture distal to the operation site 25 days after surgery, and this fracture was repaired with a long plate. None of the 37 patients showed any recurrence or metastasis. Conclusions Adequate intralesional curettage (with or without cryosurgery) combined with bone grafting using autogenous and allogeneic bone chips was effective for the treatment of low-grade intramedullary chondrosarcoma. Therefore, prophylactic internal fixation using a plate is recommended in the cryotherapy of definite cortical invasion in weight-bearing bones. | Zhang, Guofeng; Cheon, Sangho; Park, Ilhyung | Binzhou Med Univ, Dept Orthoped, Yantai Affiliated Hosp, Yantai, Peoples R China; Daegu Vet Hosp, Dept Orthoped, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Orthoped, Med Device, 1006 Global Plaza,80 Daehak Rd, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Robot Inst Pk, 1006 Global Plaza,80 Daehak Rd, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Guofeng, Zhang/J-9769-2016 | 57219376519; 57226420523; 35076285100 | ihparkmdrip@hotmail.com; | JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL RESEARCH | J INT MED RES | 0300-0605 | 1473-2300 | 49 | 7 | SCIE | MEDICINE, RESEARCH & EXPERIMENTAL;PHARMACOLOGY & PHARMACY | 2021 | 1.573 | 88.1 | 0 | 2025-07-30 | 2 | 1 | Low-grade chondrosarcoma; long bone; curettage; bone graft; cryosurgery; internal fixation | INTRALESIONAL CURETTAGE; CRYOSURGERY; RECURRENCE; ENCHONDROMA; DIAGNOSIS; OUTCOMES; SARCOMA; CEMENT; PHENOL; TUMORS | bone graft; cryosurgery; curettage; internal fixation; long bone; Low-grade chondrosarcoma | Bone Neoplasms; Bone Transplantation; Chondrosarcoma; Humans; Neoplasm Recurrence, Local; Retrospective Studies; Treatment Outcome; bone transplantation; bone tumor; chondrosarcoma; diagnostic imaging; human; retrospective study; treatment outcome; tumor recurrence | English | 2021 | 2021-07 | 10.1177/03000605211025403 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Understanding the Working Habits of GH-SO Users on GitHub Commit Activity and Stack Overflow Post Activity | GitHub and Stack Overflow are often used together for software development. GH-SO users, who use both GitHub and Stack Overflow, contribute to the development of various software projects in GitHub and share their knowledge and experience on software development in Stack Overflow. To widely understand the interests and working habits of GH-SO users on software development, it is important to investigate how GH-SO users utilize GitHub and Stack Overflow. In this paper, we present an exploratory study on GitHub commit and Stack Overflow post activities of GH-SO users. Specifically, we investigate the working habits of GH-SO users on GitHub commit and Stack Overflow post activities. We randomly selected 19,756 of GH-SO users as our target sample and collected 2,819,483 and 2,147,317 of commit activity data and post activity data of the GH-SO users. We then categorized the collected commit and post activity datasets into specific categories on programming languages and statistically analyzed the categorized commit and post activity datasets. As the results of our analysis, we found the following: (1) The overall commit and post activities of the GH-SO users share some similarity. (2) The commit activities gradually change while the post activities drastically change over time. (3) The commit activities of the GH-SO users are broadly distributed while the post activities are narrowly distributed and the commit activity can be better predictor for post activity. (4) The commit activity of the GH-SO users tends to be performed prior post activity. We believe that our findings can contribute to finding the ways to better support commit and post activities of GitHub and Stack Overflow users. | Kim, Jungil; Lee, Eunjoo | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Software Technol Res Ctr, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Comp Sci & Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 55560317100; 23388933500 | 2009307043@knu.ac.kr;ejlee@knu.ac.kr; | INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING AND KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING | INT J SOFTW ENG KNOW | 0218-1940 | 1793-6403 | 31 | 10 | SCIE | COMPUTER SCIENCE, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE;COMPUTER SCIENCE, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING;ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC | 2021 | 1.007 | 88.2 | 0.23 | 2025-07-30 | 5 | 5 | Cross platform analysis; collaborative development; Q&A website; software development working habit; GitHub; stack overflow | RECOMMENDATION; COHESION | collaborative development; Cross platform analysis; GitHub; Q&A website; software development working habit; stack overflow | Collaborative development; Cross platform analyse; Cross-platform; Exploratory studies; Github; Knowledge and experience; Q&A website; Software development working habit; Software project; Stack overflow; Software design | English | 2021 | 2021-10 | 10.1142/s0218194021500467 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | POLYACETYLENES AND FLAVONOIDS ISOLATED FROM FLOWERS OF Carthamus tinctorius | A new acetylene, (8S)-deca-4,6-diyne-1,8-di-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4), and four known polyacetylenes (1-3 and 5), together with nine known flavonoids (6-14), were isolated from the flowers of Carthamus tinctorius L. The structures of the isolates were elucidated by using spectroscopic analysis, mainly 1D and 2D NMR, HR-MS, and comparison with literature data, as well as enzymatic hydrolysis and Mosher ' s esterification methods. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their anti-allergic effects by analyzing the inhibition of interleukin-2 (IL-2) expression in Jurkat T cells. Among them, 6-hydroxykaempferol 3,6-diglucoside (7) inhibited IL-2 production in activated T cells. | Thi Men Ngo; Thi Oanh Vu; Thao Quyen Cao; Min, Byung Sun; Kim, Jeong Ah | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Pharm, Res Inst Pharmaceut Sci, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Daegu Catholic Univ, Coll Pharm, Drug Res & Dev Ctr, Gyeonsan 38430, South Korea | Quyen, Cao/AAP-9678-2020 | 57196075221; 57208535085; 56937820500; 55663638200; 24722570900 | jkim6923@knu.ac.kr; | CHEMISTRY OF NATURAL COMPOUNDS | CHEM NAT COMPD+ | 0009-3130 | 1573-8388 | 57 | 4 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MEDICINAL;CHEMISTRY, ORGANIC | 2021 | 0.83 | 88.4 | 0.37 | 2025-07-30 | 5 | 5 | Carthamus tinctorius L.; acetylenes; flavonoids; Mosher's esterification; anti-allergic; interleukin-2 | CHEMICAL-CONSTITUENTS; GLYCOSIDES; PHARMACOLOGY; GLUCOSIDES; FLORETS | acetylenes; anti-allergic; Carthamus tinctorius L; flavonoids; interleukin-2; Mosher′s esterification | English | 2021 | 2021-07 | 10.1007/s10600-021-03439-2 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||

| ○ | Article | STUDY OF STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ANCIENT BRICKS WITH NEUTRON RADIOGRAPHY FACILITY AT BTRR | Neutron radiography (NR) has been applied successfully to investigate different types of building materials, rock samples, sculptures, statues or monuments for since long. The utilization of neutron imaging for non-invasive investigations of cultural heritage objects is demonstrated on the example of ancient bricks found in Mahasthangarh and Sonargaon, two key archaeological sites in Bangladesh. The visualization of the internal structure of different brick samples, by means of Neutron Radiography (NR), has been experimented using the BTRR research reactor in Bangladesh - the only neutron imaging facility available in Bangladesh for R & D purposes. Manufacturing building materials have become a very good option for business in developing countries like Bangladesh. Among the non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, neutron radiography is the most common procedure to identify light and organic materials, homogeneity, any inclusion or voids or cracks etc. inside the structure. The radiographic images in a dry condition for individual samples have been investigated. The image analysis was performed using ImageJ software and texture features were extracted using gray level co-occurrence matrix implemented by MATLAB for acquiring qualitative and quantitative information from this inspection technique at a high level of accuracy. The results obtained by neutron imaging provide the statement that the brick sample from Mahasthangarh is more homogeneous inside. | Barman, Robin; Saha, Sudipta; Hossain, Md Sayed; Das, Anik; Rabby, Md Kaosar Ahmmad; Al Mahmud, Abdullah; Chowdhury, Debasish | Bangladesh Atom Energy Commiss, Inst Nucl Sci & Technol, Dhaka 1349, Bangladesh; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Phys, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Bangladesh Atom Energy Commiss, Ctr Res Reactor, Dhaka 1349, Bangladesh | Chowdhury, Debasish/AFE-0487-2022 | robinapece@gmail.com;sudipta.sust@yahoo.com;sayedrj34@gmail.com;anikbuet83@gmail.com;kaosar167@hotmail.com;almahmudmiad@gmail.com;debasish.chowdhury@baec.gov.bd; | IMAGE ANALYSIS & STEREOLOGY | IMAGE ANAL STEREOL | 1580-3139 | 40 | 3 | SCIE | IMAGING SCIENCE & PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNOLOGY;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;MATHEMATICS, APPLIED | 2021 | 0.683 | 89.0 | 4 | Ancient Brick; Features Extraction; Neutron Radiography; Non-destructive Testing; Research Reactor | English | 2021 | 2021 | 10.105566/ias.2593 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | EFFECT OF THE ENEPIG PROCESS ON THE BONDING STRENGTH OF BiTe-BASED THERMOELECTRIC ELEMENTS | To improve the mechanical performance of BiTe-based thermoelectric modules, this study applies anti-diffusion layers that inhibit the generation of metal intercompounds and an electroless nickel/electrode palladium/mission gold (ENEPIG) plating layers to ensure a stable bonding interface. If a plated layer is formed only on BiTe-based thermoelectric, the diffusion of Cu in electrode substrates produces an intermetallic compound. Therefore, the ENEPIG process was applied on the Cu electrode substrate. The bonding strength highly increased from approximately 10.4 to 16.4 MPa when ENEPIG plating was conducted to the BiTe-based thermoelectric element. When ENEPIG plating was performed to both the BiTe-based thermoelectric element and the Cu electrode substrate, the bonding strength showed the highest value of approximately 17.6 MPa, suggesting that the ENEPIG process is effective in ensuring a highly reliable bonding interface of the BiTe-based thermoelectric module. | Kim, Subin; Bae, Sung Hwa; Son, Injoon | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Mat Sci & Met Engn, Daegu, South Korea; Kyushu Univ, Dept Mat Proc Engn, Grad Sch Engn, Fukuoka, Japan | 57221554860; 57210171283; 9942975800 | bae.seonghwa.233@s.kyushu-u.ac.jp;ijson@knu.ac.kr; | ARCHIVES OF METALLURGY AND MATERIALS | ARCH METALL MATER | 1733-3490 | 2300-1909 | 66 | 4 | SCIE | METALLURGY & METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING | 2021 | 0.633 | 89.2 | 0.09 | 2025-07-30 | 1 | 1 | thermoelectric; ENEPIG; bonding strength; BiTe; plating | INTERFACIAL REACTIONS; FABRICATION | BiTe; Bonding strength; ENePig; Plating; Thermoelectric | Electrodes; Substrates; Thermoelectric equipment; Thermoelectricity; Bonding interfaces; Bonding strength; Diffusion layers; Electrode substrates; Electroless nickel; Mechanical performance; Thermo-electric modules; Thermoelectric element; Copper | English | 2021 | 2021 | 10.24425/amm.2021.136407 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | ENHANCED ENERGETIC PERFORMANCE OF POLYVINYLIDENE FLUORIDE-COATED ZIRCONIUM PARTICLE | In this study, energetic behaviors of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-coated zirconium (Zr) powders were investigated using thennogravimetric analyzer-differential scanning calorimetry (TGA-DSC). PVDF-coated Zr powder had 1.5 times higher heat flow than ZrO2-passivated Zr powder. PVDF-coated Zr powder had a Zr-F compound formed on its surface by its strong chemical bond. This compound acted as an oxidation-protecting layer, providing an efficient combustion path to inner pure Zr particle while thermal oxidation was progressing at the same time. PVDF coating layers also made thermal reaction start at a lower temperature than ZrO2-passivated Zr powder. It was obtained that the surface PVDF coating layer evaporated at approximately 673 K, but the surface oxide layer fully reacted at approximately 923 K by DSC analysis. Hence, Zr powders showed enhanced energetic properties by the PVDF-coated process. | Heo, Won Young; Bae, Sung Hwa; Son, Injoon | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Mat Sci & Met Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyushu Univ, Dept Mat Proc Engn, Grad Sch Engn, Fukuoka, Japan | 57224984429; 57210171283; 9942975800 | bae.seonghwa.233@s.kyushu-u.ac.jp;ijson@knu.ac.kr; | ARCHIVES OF METALLURGY AND MATERIALS | ARCH METALL MATER | 1733-3490 | 2300-1909 | 66 | 3 | SCIE | METALLURGY & METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING | 2021 | 0.633 | 89.2 | 0 | 2025-07-30 | 0 | 0 | PVDF; Zirconium; Coating; Energetic Behaviors | ALUMINUM; NANOPARTICLES; STABILITY; COATINGS | Coating; Energetic Behaviors; PVDF; Zirconium | Coatings; Differential scanning calorimetry; Fluorine compounds; Powders; Thermooxidation; Efficient combustions; Energetic behavior; Energetic properties; Lower temperatures; Polyvinylidene fluorides; Surface oxide layer; Thermogravimetric analyzers; Zirconium particles; Zirconium compounds | English | 2021 | 2021 | 10.24425/amm.2021.136369 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | HEAT TREATMENT EFFECT ON PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF STAINLESS STEEL / INCONEL BONDED BY DIRECTED ENERGY DEPOSITION | In this study, stainless steel 316L and Inconel 625 alloy powders were additively manufactured by using directed energy deposition process. And heat treatment effect on hardness and microstructures of the bonded stainless steel 316L/Inconel 625 sample was investigated. The microstructures shows there are no secondary phases and big inclusions near interfacial region between stainless steel 316L and Inconel 625 except several small cracks. The results of TEM and Vickers Hardness show the interfacial area have a few tens of micrometers in thickness. Interestingly, as the heat treatment temperature increases, the cracks in the stainless steel region does not change in morphology while both hardness values of stainless steel 316L and Inconel 625 decrease. These results can be used for designing pipes and valves with surface treatment of Inconel material based on stainless steel 316L material using the directed energy deposition. | Eom, Yeong Seong; Kim, Kyung Tae; Kim, Dong Won; Yu, Ji Hun; Sim, Chul Yong; An, Seung Jun; Park, Yong-Ha; Son, Injoon | Korea Inst Mat Sci, 797 Changwon Daero, Chang Won, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, 80 Daehakro, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Insstek, Daejeon, South Korea; Samsung Heavy Ind, Geoje Si, South Korea | 57214523925; 56984373000; 59111698600; 35182216700; 57226156319; 57226152650; 57214692733; 9942975800 | ktkim@kims.re.kr;ijson@knu.ac.kr; | ARCHIVES OF METALLURGY AND MATERIALS | ARCH METALL MATER | 1733-3490 | 2300-1909 | 66 | 4 | SCIE | METALLURGY & METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING | 2021 | 0.633 | 89.2 | 0.09 | 2025-07-30 | 1 | 1 | Directed Energy Deposition; Interface; Physical properties; Heat treatment | Directed energy Deposition; Heat treatment; Interface; Physical properties | Deposition; Heat treatment; Microstructure; Morphology; Surface treatment; Thickness measurement; Vickers hardness; Hardness values; Heat treatment temperature; Heat-treatment effects; Inconel 625 alloys; Interfacial areas; Interfacial region; Secondary phasis; Stainless steel 316L; Austenitic stainless steel | English | 2021 | 2021 | 10.24425/amm.2021.136423 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Sn-Pd-Ni ELECTROPLATING ON Bi2Te3-BASED THERMOELECTRIC ELEMENTS FOR DIRECT THERMOCOMPRESSION BONDING AND CREATION OF A RELIABLE BONDING INTERFACE | The Sn-Ag-Cu-based solder paste screen-printing method has primarily been used to fabricate Bi2Te3-based thermoelec-tric (TE) modules, as Sn-based solder alloys have a low melting temperature (approximately 220 degrees C) and good wettability with Cu electrodes. However, this process may result in uneven solder thickness when the printing pressure is not constant. Therefore, we suggested a novel direct-bonding method between the Bi2Te3-based TE elements and the Cu electrode by electroplating a 100 mu m Sn/ 1.3 mu m Pd/ 3.5 mu m Ni bonding layer onto the Bi2Te3-based TE elements. It was determined that there is a problem with the amount of precipitation and composition depending on the pH change, and that the results may vary depending on the composition of Pd. Thus, double plating layers were formed, Ni/Pd, which were widely commercialized. The Sn/Pd/Ni electroplat-ing was highly reliable, resulting in a bonding strength of 8 MPa between the thermoelectric and Cu electrode components, while the Pd and Ni electroplated layer acted as a diffusion barrier between the Sn layer and the Bi2Te3 TE. This process of electroplating Sn/Pd/Ni onto the Bi2Te3 TE elements presents a novel method for the fabrication of TE modules without using the conventional Sn-alloy-paste screen-printing method. | Kang, Seok Jun; Bae, Sung Hwa; Son, Injoon | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Mat Sci & Met Engn, Daegu, South Korea; Kyushu Univ, Dept Mat Proc Engn, Grad Sch Engn, Fukuoka, Japan | 57226134246; 57210171283; 9942975800 | bae.seonghwa.233@s.kyushu-u.ac.jp;ijson@knu.ac.kr; | ARCHIVES OF METALLURGY AND MATERIALS | ARCH METALL MATER | 1733-3490 | 2300-1909 | 66 | 4 | SCIE | METALLURGY & METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING | 2021 | 0.633 | 89.2 | 0.09 | 2025-07-30 | 1 | 1 | Tin Electroplating; Thermoelectric Module; Thermocompression Bonding; Bi2Te3; Direct Bonding | PERFORMANCE; FABRICATION; FIGURE | Bi2Te3; Direct Bonding; Thermocompression Bonding; Thermoelectric Module; Tin electroplating | Bismuth compounds; Copper; Diffusion barriers; Electrodes; Electroplating; Nickel; Palladium; Screen printing; Tellurium; Ternary alloys; Bonding interfaces; Bonding strength; Electroplated layers; Low melting temperatures; Ni electroplating; Screen printing methods; Thermo compression bonding; Thermoelectric element; Tin alloys | English | 2021 | 2021 | 10.24425/amm.2021.136406 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Circulating RNA Profiling in Postreperfusion Plasma From Kidney Transplant Recipients | Background. Ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI) is inevitable in kidney transplantation (KT) and may lead to impaired tubular epithelial cell function and reduce graft function and survival. Renal IRI is a complex cellular and molecular event; therefore, investigating the genetic or molecular pathways associated with the early phase of KT would improve our understanding of IRI in KT. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a critical role in various pathologic events associated Methods. We compared the expression profile of miRNAs extracted from 2 blood plasma samples, 1 from periphery and the other form gonadal veins immediately after reperfusion, in a total 5 cases of KT. Results. We observed that the total RNA yield was higher in postreperfusion plasma and that a subset of miRNAs was upregulated (miR-let-7a-3p, miR-143-3p, and miR-214-3p) or downregulated (let-7d-3p, let-7d-3p, miR-1246, miR-1260b, miR-1290, and miR-130b-3p) in postreperfusion plasma. Gene ontology analyses revealed that these subsets target different biological functions. Twenty-four predicted genes were commonly targeted by the upregulated miRNAs, and gene ontology enrichment and pathway analyses revealed that these were associated with various cellular activities such as signal transduction or with components such as exosomes and Conclusion. | ○ | ○ | Article | Environmental Factors Associated with the Eukaryotic Microbial Community and Microalgal Groups in the Mountain Marshes of South Korea | The diversity indices of eukaryotic microalgal groups in the Jeonglyeongchi, Waegok, and Wangdeungjae marshes of Mount Jiri, Korea, were measured using Illumina MiSeq and culture-based analyses. Waegok marsh had the highest species richness, with a Chao1 value of 828.00, and the highest levels of species diversity, with Shannon and Simpson index values of 6.36 and 0.94, respectively, while Wangdeungjae marsh had the lowest values at 2.97 and 0.75, respectively. The predominant species in all communities were Phagocata sibirica ( Jeonglyeongchi, 68.64%), Aedes albopictus (Waegok, 34.77%), Chaetonotus cf. (Waegok, 24.43%), Eimeria sp. (Wangdeungjae, 26.17%), and Eumonhystera cf. (Wangdeungjae, 22.27%). Relative abundances of the microalgal groups Bacillariophyta (diatoms) and Chlorophyta (green algae) in each marsh were respectively: Jeonglyeongchi 1.38% and 0.49%, Waegok 7.0% and 0.3%, and Wangdeungjae 10.41% and 4.72%. Illumina MiSeq analyses revealed 34 types of diatoms and 13 types of green algae. Only one diatom (Nitzschia dissipata) and five green algae (Neochloris sp., Chlamydomonas sp., Chlorococcum sp., Chlorella vulgaris, Scenedesmus sp.) were identified by a culture-based analysis. Thus, Illumina MiSeq analysis can be considered an efficient tool for analyzing microbial communities. Overall, our results described the environmental factors associated with geographically isolated mountain marshes and their respective microbial and microalgal communities. | Kim, Young-Saeng; Yun, Hyun-Sik; Lee, Jea Hack; Kim, Han-Soon; Yoon, Ho-Sung | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Res Inst Ulleung Do & Dok Do, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Biol, Coll Nat Sci, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Life Sci, BK21 FOUR KNU Creat BioRes Grp, Daegu, South Korea | 35798433500; 57215320824; 57229705300; 7410135359; 7402990205 | kyslhh1228@hanmail.net;kimhsu@knu.ac.kr;hsy@knu.ac.kr; | POLISH JOURNAL OF MICROBIOLOGY | POL J MICROBIOL | 1733-1331 | 2544-4646 | 70 | 2 | SCIE | MICROBIOLOGY | 2021 | 2.019 | 89.4 | 0.08 | 2025-07-30 | 1 | 1 | environmental sample; Illumina MiSeq; Mount Jiri marshes; microbial community; microalgal community | SOIL DEVELOPMENT; PRODUCER DIVERSITY; DISSOLVED-OXYGEN; RESOURCE CONTROL; DNA EXTRACTION; CONSUMER; NITROGEN; CULTURES; PLATYHELMINTHES; PHYTOPLANKTON | environmental sample; Illumina MiSeq; microalgal community; microbial community; Mount Jiri marshes | Biodiversity; Environment; Eukaryota; Microalgae; Microbiota; Republic of Korea; Wetlands; biodiversity; classification; environment; eukaryote; microalga; microflora; physiology; South Korea; wetland | English | 2021 | 2021 | 10.33073/pjm-2021-019 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | The Role of Dexmedetomidine in Hepatic Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury Via a Nitric Oxide-Dependent Mechanism in Rats | Background. Dexmedetomidine is known to protect against ischemia-reperfusion (IR) in various organs; however, the mechanisms of dexmedetomidine in the liver remain unclear. We investigated whether dexmedetomidine preconditioning leads to hepatic protection and whether nitric oxide was associated with this protective mechanism by employing N-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME), a nitrous oxide synthase inhibitor. Methods. Experiment 1 included 24 rats in 4 groups: sham, IR, 30 mu g/kg of dexmedetomidine, and 50 mu g/kg of dexmedetomidine. Experiment 2 included 36 rats in 6 groups: IR, 50 mu g/kg of dexmedetomidine, 10 mg/kg of L-NAME, 10 mg/kg of L-NAME + 50 mu g/kg of dexmedetomidine, 30 of mg/kg L-NAME, and 30 mg/kg of L-NAME + 50 mu g/kg of dexmedetomidine. All drugs were administered intraperitoneally. The levels of serum transaminases, malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, nuclear factor-kappa B, and c-Jun N-terminal kinase were measured 6 hours after hepatic surgery. Results. Dexmedetomidine demonstrated a dose-dependent decrease in serum transaminase levels. The 50-mu g/kg dexmedetomidine group showed a significant decrease in malondialdehyde levels (P =.002), increase in superoxide dismutase levels (P =.002), and a significantly lower level of phosphorylated tumor necrosis factor-alpha, nuclear factor-kappa B, and c-Jun N-terminal kinase (P =.002, respectively) compared with the IR injury group. These protective effects of dexmedetomidine were partially reversed by pretreatment with L-NAME (P <.01 for 20 and 30 mg/kg of L-NAME). Conclusion. In hepatic IR injury, dexmedetomidine might protect the liver via antioxidative and anti-inflammatory responses, and nitric oxide production could play a role in these protective mechanisms. | Lee, Jeong Eun; Jung, Hoon; Cho, Jin Duck; Choi, Eun Kyung; Kim, Hyun Ah; Jeon, Younghoon; Park, Sung-Sik; Kim, Sioh; Lim, Dong Gun; Kwak, Kyung-Hwa | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Anesthesiol & Pain Med, Daegu, South Korea; Yeungnam Univ, Dept Anesthesiol & Pain Med, Coll Med, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Dent, Dept Anesthesiol & Pain Med, Daegu, South Korea | Kim, Hyung-Ho/HZM-2707-2023 | 57224846206; 55967121200; 22936861300; 56783515900; 57257448800; 21645921000; 57210251038; 7601585407; 55420302000; 22937974700 | kwakkh@knu.ac.kr; | TRANSPLANTATION PROCEEDINGS | TRANSPL P | 0041-1345 | 1873-2623 | 53 | 6 | SCIE | IMMUNOLOGY;SURGERY;TRANSPLANTATION | 2021 | 1.014 | 89.4 | 1.15 | 2025-07-30 | 9 | 10 | INFLAMMATORY RESPONSES; LIVER; ISCHEMIA/REPERFUSION; RELAXATION; PROTECTS | Animals; Dexmedetomidine; Liver; NG-Nitroarginine Methyl Ester; Nitric Oxide; Rats; Reperfusion Injury; alanine aminotransferase; aspartate aminotransferase; dexmedetomidine; immunoglobulin enhancer binding protein; malonaldehyde; n(g) nitroarginine methyl ester; nitric oxide; stress activated protein kinase; superoxide dismutase; tumor necrosis factor; dexmedetomidine; n(g) nitroarginine methyl ester; nitric oxide; alanine aminotransferase blood level; animal experiment; animal model; animal tissue; antiinflammatory activity; antioxidant activity; Article; aspartate aminotransferase blood level; controlled study; dose response; drug dose comparison; drug efficacy; drug mechanism; hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury; ischemic preconditioning; liver protection; nonhuman; protein blood level; protein phosphorylation; rat; animal; liver; reperfusion injury | English | 2021 | 2021 (JUL-AUG) | 10.1016/j.transproceed.2021.05.008 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Absolute Depth Estimation Based on a Sharpness-assessment Algorithm for a Camera with an Asymmetric Aperture | Methods for absolute depth estimation have received lots of interest, and most algorithms are concerned about how to minimize the difference between an input defocused image and an estimated defocused image. These approaches may increase the complexity of the algorithms to calculate the defocused image from the estimation of the focused image. In this paper, we present a new method to recover depth of scene based on a sharpness-assessment algorithm. The proposed algorithm estimates the depth of scene by calculating the sharpness of deconvolved images with a specific point-spread function (PSF). While most depth estimation studies evaluate depth of the scene only behind a focal plane, the proposed method evaluates a broad depth range both nearer and farther than the focal plane. This is accomplished using an asymmetric aperture, so the PSF at a position nearer than the focal plane is different from that at a position farther than the focal plane. From the image taken with a focal plane of 160 cm, the depth of object over the broad range from 60 to 350 cm is estimated at 10 cm resolution. With an asymmetric aperture, we demonstrate the feasibility of the sharpness-assessment algorithm to recover absolute depth of scene from a single defocused image. | Kim, Beomjun; Heo, Daerak; Moon, Woonchan; Hahn, Joonku | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect & Elect Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57216150371; 57197871664; 56340460500; 10142501600 | jhahn@knu.ac.kr; | CURRENT OPTICS AND PHOTONICS | CURR OPT PHOTONICS | 2508-7266 | 2508-7274 | 5 | 5 | SCIE | OPTICS | 2021 | 0.879 | 89.6 | 0.09 | 2025-07-30 | 1 | 1 | Coded aperture; Depth estimation; Image reconstruction | DEFOCUS | Coded aperture; Depth estimation; Image reconstruction | Computational complexity; Focusing; Optical transfer function; Coded apertures; Depth Estimation; Depth range; Focal Plane; Images reconstruction; Point-Spread function; Scene-based; Image reconstruction | English | 2021 | 2021-10 | 10.3807/copp.2021.5.5.514 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
