| ○ | ○ | Article | Apigenin promotes antibacterial activity via regulation of nitric oxide and superoxide anion production | Apigenin is a naturally occurring flavone isolated from the medicinal herb,Aster yomena. The present study was designed to elucidate the apoptosis-like antibacterial mechanism of apigenin inEscherichia coli. Administration of apigenin resulted in a rapid increase in intracellular calcium accompanied by an increase in reactive nitrogen species (RNS) and nitric oxide (NO) levels. Furthermore, apigenin increases reactive oxygen species (ROS), superoxide anion (O-2(-)) which leftE. coliwith no ability to activate superoxide dismutase. Finally, we found that perturbance of the membrane lipid bilayer leading to glutathione oxidation and formation 8-hydroxy-2 '-deoxyguanosine occurred during the process and apoptosis-like death hallmarks were further observed. Furthermore, we applied the NO synthase inhibitor (l-NAME) and the O(2)(-)scavenger (Tiron) and observed attenuation in apoptotic markers under their presence. Taken together, these results suggest that apigenin induces bacterial apoptosis via activation of cellular oxidative pathways dependent on the production and accumulation of RNS/ROS. | Kim, Suhyun; Woo, Eun-Rhan; Lee, Dong Gun | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Life Sci, BK21 Plus KNU Creat BioRes Grp, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Chosun Univ, Coll Pharm, Gwangju, South Korea | Lee, Dong-Gun/IWD-9833-2023 | 57203864443; 7103371220; 55668060900 | dglee222@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF BASIC MICROBIOLOGY | J BASIC MICROB | 0233-111X | 1521-4028 | 60 | 10 | SCIE | MICROBIOLOGY | 2020 | 2.281 | 81.3 | 1.47 | 2025-06-25 | 40 | 40 | apigenin; apoptosis-like death; Escherichia coli; nitric oxide; phytochemical; superoxide anion | OXIDATIVE STRESS; PEROXYNITRITE; ANTIBIOTICS; METABOLISM; MECHANISMS; EXPOSURE; CELLS | apigenin; apoptosis-like death; Escherichia coli; nitric oxide; phytochemical; superoxide anion | 8-Hydroxy-2'-Deoxyguanosine; Anti-Bacterial Agents; Apigenin; Apoptosis; Calcium; DNA Fragmentation; Escherichia coli; Glutathione; Membrane Lipids; Nitric Oxide; Oxidation-Reduction; Superoxides; antiinfective agent; apigenin; calcium; glutathione; membrane lipid; nitric oxide; superoxide; apoptosis; DNA fragmentation; drug effect; Escherichia coli; metabolism; oxidation reduction reaction | English | 2020 | 2020-10 | 10.1002/jobm.202000432 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Enhancing the critical temperature of strained Niobium films | The study of the high critical temperature (T-c) of hydrogen compounds under high pressure has resulted in a considerable focus on Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer superconductors. Nb has the highestT(c)among the elemental metals at ambient pressure, so reviewing Nb films again is worthwhile. In this study, we investigated the factors that determine theT(c)of Nb films by strain introduction and carrier doping. We deposited Nb films of various thicknesses onto Si substrates and evaluated theT(c)variation with thickness. In-plane compressive strain in the (110) plane due to residual stress reduced theT(c). First-principles calculations showed that adjusting the density of states at the Fermi level is key for both strain-induced suppression and doping-induced enhancement of the NbTc. The application of hydrostatic pressure compensated for the intrinsic strain of the film and increased itsT(c), which could also be enhanced by increasing the hole concentration with an electric double-layer transistor. A liquid electrolyte should be used as a pressure medium for applying hydrostatic pressure to increase theT(c)of correlated materials, where this increase results from changes in material structure and carrier concentration. | Choi, Joonyoung; Kim, Young-Kyoung; Kim, Chang-Duk; Kim, Sooran; Jo, Younjung | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Phys, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Phys Educ, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57199099536; 57219092979; 57200982445; 55146733200; 13502586500 | sooran@knu.ac.kr;jophy@knu.ac.kr; | MATERIALS RESEARCH EXPRESS | MATER RES EXPRESS | 2053-1591 | 7 | 7 | SCIE | MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2020 | 1.62 | 81.3 | 0.22 | 2025-06-25 | 9 | 8 | Nb film; strain effect; density of state; critical temperature | SUPERCONDUCTING PROPERTIES; TRANSITION-TEMPERATURE; INSULATOR-TRANSITION; THIN-FILMS; PRESSURE; HYDROGEN; HYDRIDE; PHASE; MGB2; NB | critical temperature; density of state; Nb film; strain effect | Calculations; Carrier concentration; Electrolytes; Hydraulics; Hydrostatic pressure; Semiconductor doping; Temperature; Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer; Correlated materials; Critical temperatures; Electric double-layer transistors; First-principles calculation; High critical temperature; In-plane compressive strain; Liquid electrolytes; Niobium | English | 2020 | 2020-07 | 10.1088/2053-1591/aba84a | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Nanopillar and nanohole fabrication via mixed lithography | We report a fabrication method for the production of nanopillar (NP) or nanohole (NH) arrays together with a micrometer-sized structure within a single layer. On a 200 mm silicon wafer, we produced 200-400 nm NP or NH arrays using electron beam lithography (EBL). The EBL patterns on a positive-tone EB resist-either a poly(methyl methacrylate) or chemically semi-amplified resist-were transferred to a hard mask oxide (HMO) layer using reactive-ion etching (RIE), as the first etching step. We used the HMO as an intermediate layer to connect the EB patterns to photolithography patterns. On the EB-patterned HMO layer, large-scale photolithography patterns were produced on a photoresist (PR), and transferred to the HMO layer using the second RIE step. After removing the PR, the mixed EB and photolithography patterns in the HMO layer were transferred to the target layer in the third RIE step. Our method offers an efficient way to combine nanometer-sized EBL patterns with high-throughput photolithography patterns in a single layer. | Baek, Seung Hee; Lee, Sunwoong; Bae, Ju-Hyun; Hong, Chang-Won; Park, Mae-Ja; Park, Hongsik; Baek, Moon-Chang; Nam, Sung-Wook | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Mol Med, Daegu 41405, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, ECRC, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Physiol, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Anat, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Nam, Sung-Wook/V-5519-2019 | 57203346671; 57215897149; 57225046295; 55567018400; 7404491223; 35366976200; 7006013097; 16167127700 | nams@knu.ac.kr; | MATERIALS RESEARCH EXPRESS | MATER RES EXPRESS | 2053-1591 | 7 | 3 | SCIE | MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2020 | 1.62 | 81.3 | 0.44 | 2025-06-25 | 10 | 10 | electron beam lithography; nanopillar; nanohole | HYDROGEN SILSESQUIOXANE; ELECTRON-BEAM; PARTICLE SEPARATION; RESIST; RESOLUTION | electron beam lithography; nanohole; nanopillar | Electron beam lithography; Electron beams; Esters; Fabrication; Photoresists; Reactive ion etching; Silicon wafers; Etching step; Fabrication method; High throughput; Intermediate layers; Nanoholes; NanoPillar; Positive tone; Single layer; Nanopillars | English | 2020 | 2020-03 | 10.1088/2053-1591/ab77ed | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Coupled GA-SA Optimization Algorithm and Application for Compressive Curved Damper Springs of Automotive Lockup Clutches | An efficient global optimization algorithm has been developed by combining GA (genetic algorithm) and SA (simulated annealing). It is observed that the coupled optimization algorithm can converge faster than each single algorithm. It is applied for the design optimization of damper coil springs that absorb the torsional impact and vibration imposed on the clutch of an automatic transmission. Additionally, an user friendly computer program is developed in order to design various types of torque converter damper springs automatically. Dynamic characteristics and torque capacity of damper springs varies according to a spring constant that depends on a wire diameter, a coil diameter, the number of turns, a coil length, etc. The torque variation according to the spring constant characteristics of a curved compressive coil spring is calculated and compared with that of a straight one using the coupled simulated annealing and genetic algorithm. | Rhim, Soeun; Kim, Cheol; Choi, Yonghwan | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Mech Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Hyundai Motor Co, Auto Transmission Engn Design Team, 150 Hyundaiyeonguso Ro, Hwaseong Si 18280, Gyeonggi, South Korea | 57215067677; 55508786300; 57201646364 | kimchul@knu.ac.kr; | INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY | INT J AUTO TECH-KOR | 1229-9138 | 1976-3832 | 21 | 3 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, MECHANICAL;TRANSPORTATION SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY | 2020 | 1.269 | 81.6 | 0.15 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | Simulated annealing; Genetic algorithm; Optimum design; Damper springs; Clutch | DESIGN | Clutch; Damper springs; Genetic algorithm; Optimum design; Simulated annealing | Clutches; Global optimization; Simulated annealing; Springs (components); Vibrations (mechanical); Automatic transmission; Design optimization; Dynamic characteristics; Efficient global optimization; GA (genetic algorithm); Optimization algorithms; Optimum designs; Torque variations; Genetic algorithms | English | 2020 | 2020-06 | 10.1007/s12239-020-0061-4 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | An Efficient Skewed Line Segmentation Technique for Cursive Script OCR | Segmentation of cursive text remains the challenging phase in the recognition of text. In OCR systems, the recognition accuracy of text is directly dependent on the quality of segmentation. In cursive text OCR systems, the segmentation of handwritten Urdu language text is a complex task because of the context sensitivity and diagonality of the text. This paper presents a line segmentation algorithm for Urdu handwritten and printed text and subsequently to ligatures. In the proposed technique, the counting pixel approach is employed for modified header and baseline detection, in which the system first removes the skewness of the text page, and then the page is converted into lines and ligatures. The algorithm is evaluated on manually generated Urdu printed and handwritten dataset. The proposed algorithm is tested separately on handwritten and printed text, showing 96.7% and 98.3% line accuracy, respectively. Furthermore, the proposed line segmentation algorithm correctly extracts the lines when tested on Arabic text. | Malik, Saud; Sajid, Ahthasham; Ahmad, Arshad; Almogren, Ahmad; Hayat, Bashir; Awais, Muhammad; Kim, Kyong Hoon | COMSATS Univ Islamabad, Attock Campus, Islamabad 43600, Pakistan; BUITEMS, Fac ICT, Dept Comp Sci, Quetta 87300, Baluchistan, Pakistan; Pak Austria Fachhsch Inst Appl Sci & Technol, Dept IT & Comp Sci, Khanpur Rd, Mang 22620, Haripur, Pakistan; King Saud Univ, Coll Comp Informat Sci, Dept Comp Sci, Riyadh 11633, Saudi Arabia; Inst Management Sci, Peshawar 25000, Pakistan; Univ Lancaster, Sch Comp & Commun, Lancaster LA1 4YW, England; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Comp Sci & Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Kim, Honghyok/LDF-5356-2024; Awais, Muhammad/U-2996-2019; Ahmad, Arshad/V-1863-2019; Almogren, Ahmad/F-1365-2014; Sajid, Ahthasham/AAD-1554-2019 | 57207793497; 57201090263; 57214747469; 8970033500; 57194435918; 59432672900; 15065463500 | yaarshad@gmail.com; | SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMMING | SCI PROGRAMMING-NETH | 1058-9244 | 1875-919X | 2020 | SCIE | COMPUTER SCIENCE, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING | 2020 | 1.025 | 81.9 | 0.67 | 2025-06-25 | 9 | 13 | WATER-FLOW ALGORITHM; TEXT | Optical character recognition; Arabic texts; Baseline detection; Context sensitivity; Cursive script; Handwritten dataset; Line segmentation; Printed texts; Recognition accuracy; Image segmentation | English | 2020 | 2020-12-04 | 10.1155/2020/8866041 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Imaging findings of renal telangiectasia in a Maltese dog | A 13-year-old neutered male Maltese dog presented with a three-month history of haematuria. The abdominal ultrasound and computed tomography revealed a large, multifocally-calcified left renal mass that was disrupting most of the renal parenchyma. Most of the areas of this mass did not show any contrast enhancement on the CT. After a nephrectomy, renal telangiectasia was diagnosed on the histopathology. Renal telangiectasia is a hereditary dysplastic blood vessel disease only previously reported in Pembroke Welsh Corgi. This is the first diagnostic imaging report of renal telangiectasia and the first report in a Maltese. Renal telangiectasia should be considered for the differential diagnosis of destructive renal masses with faint or no contrast enhancement on a CT, even in cases of unilateral renal involvement in Maltese dogs or those in non-corgi breeds. | Noh, Daji; Lee, Seoung-Woo; Jung, Donguk; Park, Jin-Kyu; Lee, Kija | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Dept Vet Diagnost Imaging, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Dept Vet Clin Pathol, Daegu, South Korea; Jung Anim Clin, Daegu, South Korea | 57188552722; 57218827581; 57210602341; 35213723500; 35311016000 | leekj@knu.ac.kr; | VETERINARNI MEDICINA | VET MED-CZECH | 0375-8427 | 1805-9392 | 65 | 10 | SCIE | VETERINARY SCIENCES | 2020 | 0.565 | 81.9 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | canine; computed tomography; non-corgi breed; renal mass | CELL CARCINOMA; EXPRESSION; NEOPLASIA; CT | Canine; Computed tomography; Non-corgi breed; Renal mass | cefazolin; cefozol; ifran; iohexol; lactic acid; meloxicam; propofol; abdominal radiography; analgesia; anechoic chamber; animal model; Article; computer assisted tomography; differential diagnosis; dog; echography; follow up; histopathology; kidney parenchyma; kidney tumor; lung metastasis; male; nephrectomy; nonhuman; renal telangiectasia; retinal vascular disease; telangiectasia; thorax radiography; urea nitrogen blood level; urinalysis | English | 2020 | 2020 | 10.17221/87/2020-vetmed | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | In vitro pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics evaluation of marbofloxacin against Staphylococcus pseudintermedius | This study aimed at determining the in vitro antibacterial activity of a clinically achievable marbofloxacin (MAR) concentration against the clinical isolate S. pseudintermedius in an in vitro dynamic model simulating the in vivo pharmacokinetics of dogs. The in vitro PK/PD (pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic) model that mimics the single daily doses of MAR (half-life, 8 h) was simulated. An inoculum (10(8) cfu/ml) of clinical isolate S. pseudintermedius (MIC = 0.0625 mu g/ml) was exposed to monoexponentially decreasing concentrations of MAR with simulated AUC(24h)/MIC varied from 34.81 h to 696.15 h. Every two hours, the multiple sample colony forming units were determined. The result of this study demonstrated that the clinically achieved MAR concentrations at AUC(24h)/MIC ratios of 348.08 and 696.15 h produced a pronounced reduction in the bacterial counts and prevented the re-growth of the clinical isolate S. pseudintermedius. However, further study, considering the strains with different susceptibility levels, is recommended. | Quah, Yixian; Boby, Naila; Park, Seling-Chlin | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Dept Vet Pharmacol & Toxicol, Lab Vet Clin Pharmacol, Daegu, South Korea | ; Yixian, Quah/ABE-7629-2021; Park, Seung-Chun/AAV-3388-2021; Boby, Naila/GRE-8096-2022 | 55886933200; 57197787296; 7501832396 | parksch@knu.ac.kr; | VETERINARNI MEDICINA | VET MED-CZECH | 0375-8427 | 1805-9392 | 65 | 3 | SCIE | VETERINARY SCIENCES | 2020 | 0.565 | 81.9 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | dogs; clinical isolates; simulation; antimicrobial resistance | MUTANT PREVENTION CONCENTRATION; VETERINARY FLUOROQUINOLONES; STREPTOCOCCUS-PNEUMONIAE; SELECTION WINDOW; RESISTANCE; MODEL; ENROFLOXACIN; INFECTIONS; DIFLOXACIN; GUIDELINES | Antimicrobial resistance; Clinical isolates; Dogs; Simulation | antiinfective agent; marbofloxacin; antibacterial activity; antibiotic resistance; antibiotic sensitivity; antibiotic therapy; area under the curve; Article; bacterial count; bacterial strain; bacterium culture; bacterium isolation; broth dilution; colony forming unit; controlled study; drug screening; high performance liquid chromatography; inoculation; limit of detection; minimum inhibitory concentration; nonhuman; pharmacodynamics; pharmacokinetics; Staphylococcus pseudintermedius | English | 2020 | 2020 | 10.17221/82/2019-vetmed | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Political Change and Transitional Justice in Mongolia and North Korea: Determinants of Feature and Typological Connectivity | The current study examines the transitional justice experience in Mongolia and identifies possible points of reference for the North Korean situation. As transitional justice is a process with various potential features at different time points, the case of Mongolia is examined from a typological perspective, which is also useful to overcome the lack of comprehensive and systematic information. In terms of the implementation type of transitional justice, the Mongolian case was centered on victim relief, as the social atmosphere was regrettably complicit in ignoring or denying the wrongdoings of the past. Moreover, most of the variables for successful transitional justice were weak or disadvantageous, as determined by the rapport de force and weak civil society after the passive, so-called "Democratic Revolution" in 1990. Albeit, the case of Mongolia represents a positive reference for a potential transition to democracy and transitional justice in North Korea, even though the current conditions do not satisfy the necessary requirements. Furthermore, the probability and mode of North Korea's transitional justice will unavoidably depend on its "transition to democracy" based on its civil society and dichotomous social differentiation in the late-communist stage. Therefore, this paper contradistinguishes the situations in Mongolia and North Korea to determine the likelihood of political change in North Korea and then identify the absent and distorted elements for any related transitional justice. | Heo, Man-ho | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Daegu, South Korea; Korea Inst Def Anal, Seoul, South Korea | 7005504107 | mhheo@knu.ac.kr; | PACIFIC FOCUS | PAC FOCUS | 1225-4657 | 1976-5118 | 35 | 3 | SSCI | AREA STUDIES;INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS | 2020 | 0.553 | 81.9 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | Mongolia; North Korea; transitional justice; transition to democracy; late‐ communist society; passive revolution; rapport de force | MODEL | late-communist society; Mongolia; North Korea; passive revolution; rapport de force; transition to democracy; transitional justice | English | 2020 | 2020-12 | 10.1111/pafo.12171 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||

| ○ | ○ | Article | Characteristics of amorphous transparent InGaZn6O9 electrodes prepared by RF-magnetron sputtering for fully transparent thin film transistors | We have investigated the properties of InGaZn(6)O(9)thin films fabricated by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering for the application to the electrodes in transparent thin film transistor (TTFT). The InGaZn(6)O(9)thin films have been prepared with varying working pressure and RF power. It has been found that the InGaZn(6)O(9)films have an amorphous structure and show a very smooth and featureless surface regardless of the deposition conditions. At optimized deposition condition, the InGaZn(6)O(9)film shows an average transmittance of about 83.54% in the visible region and the sheet resistance of about 91.6 omega/sq. The top gate InGaZnO4TTFT device embedded with InGaZn(6)O(9)electrode operates in enhanced mode with a threshold voltage of 1.1 V, a mobility of 3.48 cm(2)/Vs, an on-off ratio of > 10(4), and a sub-threshold slope of 0.9 V/decade. In addition, the optical transmittance of the TTFT device is observed about 85% at 550 nm wavelength. | Shin, Han Jae; Kim, Hak-Rin; Lee, Do Kyung | Gumi Elect & Informat Technol Res Inst, Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk D, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Daegu Catholic Univ, Sch Adv Mat Sci & Chem Engn, Gyongsan 38430, Gyeongsangbuk D, South Korea | ; Kim, Hak-Rin/T-1897-2019 | 36129210100; 7410124944; 55941000700 | rineey@knu.ac.kr;dokyung@cu.ac.kr; | MOLECULAR CRYSTALS AND LIQUID CRYSTALS | MOL CRYST LIQ CRYST | 1542-1406 | 1563-5287 | 705 | 1 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;CRYSTALLOGRAPHY;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2020 | 0.896 | 82.0 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | InGaZn(6)O(9)thin film; radio frequency magnetron sputtering; transparent electrode; transparent thin film transistor | OXIDE | InGaZn6O9 thin film; radio frequency magnetron sputtering; transparent electrode; transparent thin film transistor | Field effect transistors; Film preparation; Gallium compounds; Indium compounds; Magnetron sputtering; Thin film circuits; Thin film transistors; Threshold voltage; Transparent electrodes; Zinc compounds; Amorphous structures; Deposition conditions; Optimized deposition conditions; Radio frequency magnetron sputtering; rf-Magnetron sputtering; Subthreshold slope; Transparent thin film transistor; Working pressures; Thin films | English | 2020 | 2020-07-02 | 10.1080/15421406.2020.1741823 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Effect of trap-assisted tunneling on off-current property of a-InGaZnO thin-film transistors | We describe how the off-state current (I-off) property of amorphous InGaZnO (a-IGZO) thin-film transistors is caused by trap-assisted tunneling (TAT) by using a two-dimensional device simulation software application (Atlas 2 D, Silvaco). We found thatI(off)can be increased by controlling the bandgap energy (E-G) and the effective mass of electron (m(e)) of a-IGZO transistors. Whenm(e)was increased from 0.32 to 0.38 m(o)(mass of a free electron), the point at whichI(off)started to increase in the region of negative gate voltage (V-GS) shifted from -4.7 to -7.4 V. In addition, whenE(G)was changed from 3.05 to 3.2 eV, the average value ofI(off)changed from 3.13 x 10(-13)to 2.4 x 10(-14)A. This implies thatE(G)andm(e)influence the increase inI(off)in a-IGZO TFTs because of the difficulty associated with TAT. | Park, Jihwan; Kim, Kyung; Park, Jun-Ik; Park, Jaehoon; Lang, Philippe; Choi, Muhan; Kim, Hyeok; Bae, Jin-Hyuk | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu, South Korea; Univ Paris Diderot Paris7, ITODYS, Paris, France; Univ Seoul, Dept Elect & Comp Engn, Seoul, South Korea; Hallym Univ, Dept Elect Engn, Chunchon, South Korea | lang, philippe/E-5192-2012 | 59880525700; 57984042900; 57210189987; 55717156300; 36181262200; 7402093793; 57191718658; 35326180700 | jhbae@ee.knu.ac.kr; | MOLECULAR CRYSTALS AND LIQUID CRYSTALS | MOL CRYST LIQ CRYST | 1542-1406 | 1563-5287 | 705 | 1 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;CRYSTALLOGRAPHY;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2020 | 0.896 | 82.0 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | Off-current; simulation; thin-film transistors; trap-assisted tunneling | Off-current; simulation; thin-film transistors; trap-assisted tunneling | Application programs; Electrons; Gallium compounds; Semiconducting indium compounds; Thin film circuits; Thin films; Zinc compounds; Amorphousingazno (a-igzo); Average values; Band gap energy; Effective mass; Negative gate voltages; Off-state current; Trap assisted tunneling; Two dimensional device simulation; Thin film transistors | English | 2020 | 2020-07-02 | 10.1080/15421406.2020.1741816 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Nocardioides jejuensis sp. nov., isolated from soil | A Gram-stain positive, asporogenous, aerobic, white -coloured bacterium, designated 18JY15-6(T), was isolated from soil from Jeju Island, Korea. Pairwise analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain 18JY15-6(T) indicated high similarity to Nocardioides phosphati DSM 104026(T) (97.4%), Marmoricola terrae KACC 17308(T) (96.7%) and Nocardioides jensenii KCTC 0074BP(T) (96.6%). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that strain 18JY15-6(T) formed a distinct lineage within the family Nocardioidaceae and is closely related to members of the genus Nocardioides. Genome sequencing of strain 18JY15-6(T) revealed 3221 total genes, including 3162 protein coding genes, 59 RNA and 31 pseudogenes. Growth was observed at 18-37 degrees C (optimal 30 degrees C) in R2A medium at pH 7.0. The major cellular fatty acids of strain 18JY15-6(T) were identified as C-16:0, C-18:1 omega 9c, C-18:0 10-methyl, tuberculostearic and C-17:0. The fatty acid profile of strain 18JY15-6(T) was more dissimilar when compared with M. terrae. The only respiratory quinone present was found to be MK-8(H-4). The major polar lipids are diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine. The results of phylogenetic, biochemical and chemotaxonomic characterisation allow the differentiation of strain 18JY15-6(T) from N. phosphati WYH11-7(T), M. terrae JOS5-1(T) and N. jensenii NBRC 14755(T) which supports the conclusion that this strain represents a novel species of the genus Nocardioides, for which we propose the name Nocardioides jejuensis sp. nov. The type strain of Nocardioides jejuensis is 18JY15-6(T) (= KCTC 49105(T) = JCM 33182(T)). | Jang, Jun Hwee; Maeng, Soohyun; Jung, Hee-Young; Kim, Myung Kyum; Subramani, Gayathri | Seoul Womens Univ, Coll Nat Sci, Dept Bio & Environm Technol, Seoul 01797, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Agr & Life Sci, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Subramani, Gayathri/AGF-7052-2022; Kim, Jung Oh/JDC-5061-2023 | 57201467227; 57205512087; 7403029383; 35080583500; 57205424880 | biotech@swu.ac.kr;drgaya@swu.ac.kr; | ANTONIE VAN LEEUWENHOEK INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF GENERAL AND MOLECULAR MICROBIOLOGY | ANTON LEEUW INT J G | 0003-6072 | 1572-9699 | 113 | 3 | SCIE | MICROBIOLOGY | 2020 | 2.271 | 82.0 | 0.13 | 2025-06-25 | 3 | 3 | Nocardioidaceae; Nocardioides; New species; Genome; 16S rRNA gene | TERRAE SP NOV.; MARMORICOLA; BACTERIUM; SEQUENCES; DATABASE; GENUS | 16S rRNA gene; Genome; New species; Nocardioidaceae; Nocardioides | DNA, Bacterial; Genome, Bacterial; Genomics; Phylogeny; Propionibacterium; RNA, Ribosomal, 16S; Soil Microbiology; Whole Genome Sequencing; bacterial DNA; RNA 16S; bacterial genome; classification; genetics; genomics; isolation and purification; microbiology; phylogeny; procedures; Propionibacterium; whole genome sequencing | English | 2020 | 2020-03 | 10.1007/s10482-019-01343-y | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Structural modification of poly(4-vinylphenol) insulators in pentacene transistors by using dimethyl ketone | We demonstrate a dimethyl ketone treatment for structural modification of cross-linked poly(4-vinylphenol) (c-PVP) gate insulator in pentacene thin-film transistors (TFTs). Here, the dimethyl ketone treatment was performed immediately after spin-coating the insulator solution, followed by thermal annealing for cross-linking of PVP molecules. It is found that the dimethyl ketone treatment lowered the surface energy of the PVP gate insulator and made the PVP film thinner. The results of X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy analyses showed that the dimethyl ketone-treated c-PVP insulator contributes to enhancing the crystallinity of pentacene semiconductor films and reducing the density of lamellar grains and bulk phase crystallites in pentacene films. Consequently, the performance improvement of the pentacene TFT is achieved by structurally modifying the c-PVP gate insulator through the dimethyl ketone treatment. | Kwon, Jin-Hyuk; Choi, Ji-Hoon; Lee, Hyeonju; Bae, Jin-Hyuk; Park, Jaehoon | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu, South Korea; Hallym Univ, Dept Elect Engn, Chunchon, South Korea | 7202469243; 57212089295; 57040032800; 35326180700; 55717156300 | jhbae@ee.knu.ac.kr;jaypark@hallym.ac.kr; | MOLECULAR CRYSTALS AND LIQUID CRYSTALS | MOL CRYST LIQ CRYST | 1542-1406 | 1563-5287 | 704 | 1 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;CRYSTALLOGRAPHY;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2020 | 0.896 | 82.0 | 0.07 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | Organic semiconductor; polymeric insulator; surface treatment; thin-film transistor | Organic semiconductor; polymeric insulator; surface treatment; thin-film transistor | Atomic force microscopy; Crystallinity; Crystallites; Thin film transistors; Thin films; Lamellar grains; Pentacene film; Pentacene thin film transistors; Pentacene transistors; Poly(4-vinylphenol); Semiconductor films; Structural modifications; Thermal-annealing; Acetone | English | 2020 | 2020-06-12 | 10.1080/15421406.2020.1741815 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Characterization of hydrocoptisonine metabolites in human liver microsomes using a high-resolution quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer | Hydrocoptisonine is a new compound that has been isolated from the rhizomes ofCoptis chinensis, which belongs to the Ranunculaceae family of Chinese medicines. Although studies onC. chinensishave been reported, the metabolic pathway of hydrocoptisonine in human liver microsomes (HLMs) remains unelucidated. We identified 13 metabolites in HLMs, including six Phase I metabolites and seven glucuronide conjugates, using a high-resolution quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer. The major metabolic pathway was theO-demethylation and mono-hydroxylation of hydrocoptisonine in HLMs. Notably, M3 metabolite wasO-demethylated in dioxolane structures (cyclohexa-3,5-diene-1,2-dione), which was mediated by cytochrome P450 1A2. The locations of hydroxylation and hydroxyl-glucuronidation were identified by analyzing the signature fragments generated as a result of tandem mass spectrometry, indicating hydroxylation at an aliphatic chain or aromatic ring. We determined whether the hydroxylation and glucuronidation occurred in an aromatic moiety (M5 and M12) or an aliphatic moiety (M6 and M13), respectively, based on signature fragments of the metabolites. | Choi, Su Min; Kim, Younah; Lee, Jaeick; Kim, Ju-Hyun; Lee, Taeho; Min, Byung Sun; Kim, Jeong Ah; Lee, Sangkyu | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Pharmaceut Sci Res Inst, Coll Pharm, Plus KNU Multiomicsbased Creat Drug Res Team BK21, Daegu, South Korea; Korea Inst Sci & Technol, Doping Control Ctr, Seoul, South Korea; Yeungnam Univ, Coll Pharm, Gyongsan, South Korea; Daegu Catholic Univ, Coll Pharm Drug Res & Dev Ctr, Gyongsan, South Korea | 57212768203; 57211893872; 7601483869; 55720031300; 57204032003; 55663638200; 24722570900; 57209046767 | jkim6923@knu.ac.kr;sangkyu@knu.ac.kr; | XENOBIOTICA | XENOBIOTICA | 0049-8254 | 1366-5928 | 50 | 12 | SCIE | PHARMACOLOGY & PHARMACY;TOXICOLOGY | 2020 | 1.908 | 82.1 | 0.08 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | CYPs; hydrocoptisonine; human liver microsomes; O-demethylation; UGT | IN-VITRO METABOLITES; RAT; BERBERINE | CYPs; human liver microsomes; hydrocoptisonine; O-demethylation; UGT | Cytochrome P-450 CYP1A2; Drugs, Chinese Herbal; Glucuronides; Humans; Hydroxylation; Metabolic Networks and Pathways; Microsomes, Liver; Tandem Mass Spectrometry; hydrocoptisonine; protoberberine derivative; unclassified drug; CYP1A2 protein, human; cytochrome P450 1A2; glucuronide; herbaceous agent; Article; drug determination; drug glucuronidation; drug hydroxylation; drug metabolism; human; human cell; liver microsome; phenotype; quadrupole mass spectrometry; tandem mass spectrometry; hydroxylation; liver microsome; metabolism | English | 2020 | 2020-12-01 | 10.1080/00498254.2020.1795304 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Characterization of osthenol metabolism in vivo and its pharmacokinetics | Osthenol, a prenylated coumarin, is a C8-prenylated derivative of umbelliferone isolated from the root of Angelica koreana and Angelica dahurica, an intermediate and is known as a major metabolite of desmethyl-osthole. The various pharmacological effects of osthenol have been reported. In previous studies, we investigated five hydroxylated metabolites by cytochromes P450 (CYP) and glucuronide conjugates of osthenol by uridine diphosphate-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs). However, osthenol have very few studies have been reported on its pharmacokinetic (PK) profiling, we reported the PK parameters in mouse of osthenol through this study. After oral (5 and 20 mg/kg) and intravenous (5 mg/kg) administration, the concentration of osthenol in plasma was determined by LC-MS/MS. The quantitative method was validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, and precision. When 5 and 20 mg/kg of osthenol were orally administered, the bioavailability (BA) was found to be very low at 0.43 and 0.02%, respectively. In fact, osthenol was mostly metabolized to a two-Phase II conjugates, a sulfonyl and glucuronyl-osthenol, in the blood, which was determined by LC-HR/MS analysis of the blood sample. Because osthenol is rapidly metabolized to two conjugates by first-pass effect the BA of osthenol is low after oral administration. | Cho, Piljoung; Choi, Su Min; Kim, Younah; Lee, Doo Hyun; Noh, Yeeun; Kim, Sujeong; Kim, Ju-Hyun; Lee, Taeho; Lee, Sangkyu | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Plus KNU Multiom Based Creat Drug Res Teaam BK21, Coll Pharm, Pharmaceut Sci Res Inst, Daegu, South Korea; Yeungnam Univ, Coll Pharm, Gyongsan, South Korea | Lee, Si/ABH-1408-2020 | 57202163312; 57212768203; 57211893872; 55628709200; 57212761538; 57835349400; 55720031300; 57204032003; 57209046767 | sangkyu@knu.ac.kr;tlee@knu.ac.kr; | XENOBIOTICA | XENOBIOTICA | 0049-8254 | 1366-5928 | 50 | 7 | SCIE | PHARMACOLOGY & PHARMACY;TOXICOLOGY | 2020 | 1.908 | 82.1 | 0.23 | 2025-06-25 | 4 | 4 | Osthenol; pharmacokinetics; sulfonation; glucuronidation; first-pass effect; bioavailability | bioavailability; first-pass effect; glucuronidation; Osthenol; pharmacokinetics; sulfonation | Administration, Oral; Angelica; Animals; Chromatography, Liquid; Coumarins; Glucuronosyltransferase; Male; Mice; Tandem Mass Spectrometry; coumarin derivative; drug metabolite; glucuronyl osthenol; osthenol; sulfonyl osthenol; umbelliferone derivative; unclassified drug; coumarin derivative; glucuronosyltransferase; osthenol; Angelica; Angelica dahurica; Angelica koreana; animal experiment; area under the curve; Article; conjugate; controlled study; drug bioavailability; drug blood level; drug glucuronidation; drug half life; drug metabolism; first pass effect; liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry; male; maximum plasma concentration; mean residence time; measurement accuracy; measurement precision; metabolic fingerprinting; mouse; nonhuman; plasma concentration-time curve; quantitative analysis; sulfonation; time to maximum plasma concentration; animal; liquid chromatography; oral drug administration; tandem mass spectrometry | English | 2020 | 2020-07-02 | 10.1080/00498254.2019.1705427 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
