| ○ | ○ | Article | Effects of Annealing on the Microstructure and Thermoelectric Properties of Half-Heusler MNiSn (M = Ti, Zr, Hf) | Half-Heusler MNiSn (M = Ti, Zr, Hf) shows a good thermoelectric performance in a medium temperature range of 500-1100 K. In this study, we investigate the effect of annealing on the microstructure and thermoelectric properties of half-Heusler Ti0.26Zr0.37Hf0.37NiSn. The Ti0.26Zr0.37Hf0.37NiSn composition which was designed to improve phonon scattering via mass difference and strain fluctuation. The samples were fabricated through arc melting and then annealed at 1173 K for 24-216 h. The as-cast sample showed a microstructure in which the Ti-rich and Ti-poor half-Heuslers were mixed with some secondary phases like Hf, Sn, and Ti6Sn5. The secondary phases disappeared, and the difference in the Ti fraction between the Ti-rich and Ti-poor half-Heuslers was reduced with increasing annealing time. In other words, the samples become homogeneous with annealing, leading to the reduction of the anti-site defects commonly observed in MNiSn alloys. This was confirmed by the increase of the band gap calculated from the Seebeck coefficient. The electrical conductivity decreased, and the Seebeck coefficient increased as the annealing time increased. This is attributed to the decrease of the carrier concentration caused by the reduction of the anti-site defects. The figure-of-merit value for the sample annealed for 216 h reached 0.74 at 773 K, showing an increase of approximately 20% compared with that of the as-cast sample. | ○ | ○ | Article | Experimental Rat Model of Bony Defects in the Facet Joint Maintained with Bone Wax for the Study of Spinal Pain | Purpose: Studies using experimental rat models for low back pain due to facet-joint defects are scarce. This study used a novel experimental rat model to determine whether bony defects induced by facetectomy could be maintained by bone wax, thus mimicking spondylolysis, and to analyze the effect of the facetectomy on rat behavior. Patients and Methods: Twelve 10-week-old male Wistar rats weighing 300-350 g were divided into group A (n = 6) that underwent unilateral facetectomy of the right L5-6 facet joint and group B (n = 6) that additionally applied water-soluble bone wax at the facetectomy site. The difference in the left and right stride length, detected by the footprint test, and change in the left and right facet joint area were compared before and 4 weeks after the experiment. Results: Even though the difference between the left and right stride lengths of groups A and B was not statistically significant, in contrast to group A, group B showed a shorter stride length on the right side (p = 0.22 and 0.46, in group A and group B, respectively). The right facet joint area, where the facetectomy was performed, was significantly smaller in group B 4 weeks after surgery, but not in group A (p = 0.50 and < 0.01, in group A and group B, respectively). Conclusion: Based on the results, we concluded that the bony defects, induced by facetectomy at the L5-6 facet joint, were maintained with bone wax. This study will provide an experimental model for bony defects in the facet joint. | Oh, Jinyoung; Jo, Daehyun; Park, Kicheol; Kang, Posoon; Shin, Youngsup | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Chilgok Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Anesthesiol & Pain Med, Daegu, South Korea; Jodaehyun Pain Ctr, Jeonju, South Korea; Catholic Univ Korea, St Marys Hosp, Clin Res Inst, Daejeon, South Korea; Konynang Univ Hosp, Dept Anesthesiol & Pain Med, Daejeon, South Korea; Chungnam Natl Univ, Coll Med, Dept Anesthesiol & Pain Med, 282 Munhwa Ro, Daejeon 35015, South Korea | Jo, Daehyun/KBC-1613-2024 | 57609999900; 55585656300; 55634916100; 57435401200; 59579284600 | ysshin@cnu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF PAIN RESEARCH | J PAIN RES | 1178-7090 | 15 | SCIE | CLINICAL NEUROLOGY | 2022 | 2.7 | 61.6 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | facet-joint defect; bone wax; Masson's trichrome stain; footprint test; spondylolysis; rat | LUMBAR FACETECTOMY; BACK-PAIN; SPONDYLOLYSIS; SPONDYLOLISTHESIS; REPAIR; REGENERATION; ADOLESCENTS; INSTABILITY; CHILDREN | Bone wax; Facet-joint defect; Footprint test; Masson’s trichrome stain; Rat; Spondylolysis | bone wax; animal behavior; animal experiment; animal model; animal tissue; Article; bone defect; controlled study; facetectomy; male; musculoskeletal system parameters; nonhuman; rat; spinal pain; spondylolysis; Wistar rat | English | 2022 | 2022 | 10.2147/jpr.s344810 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Ferromagnetic Layer Thickness Dependence of Magnetic Domain Structure in Ultrathin Symmetric Ta/Pt/Co/Pt/Ta Multilayers | To minimize the total film thickness and to make symmetric layer structures, the ultrathin symmetric Ta(1 nm)/Pt(1.7 nm)/Co(t)/Pt(1.7 nm)/Ta(1 nm) multilayers, where the Co thickness (t) was varied from 0.3 to 1.4 nm, were fabricated on Si substrate with a native oxide layer. The perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) was observed in the range of t = 0.3-0.9 nm. The coercive field of similar to 16 mT for t = 0.7 nm and the domain wall velocity of similar to 100 mu m/s for t <= 0.6 nm were comparable with those in previous reports. Surprisingly, as the Co thickness approached 0.9 nm, the domain wall velocity dropped dramatically to similar to 0.1 mu m/s, and the magnetic domain structure shifted from big-circular domains to small-bubble domains. A change from PMA to easy-plane magnetic anisotropy around t = 0.95 nm could be explained using the classic Kittel's model. Because of their good PMA, such ultrathin symmetric multilayers could be used in various spintronic applications. | Dho, Joonghoe | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Phys, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 6602898623 | jhdho@knu.ac.kr; | IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MAGNETICS | IEEE T MAGN | 0018-9464 | 1941-0069 | 58 | 10 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC;PHYSICS, APPLIED | 2022 | 2.1 | 61.6 | 0.32 | 2025-06-25 | 5 | 4 | Co/Pt multilayer; magnetic domain structure; magneto-optic Kerr effect (MOKE) microscopy; perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) | CO FILMS; CO/PT MULTILAYERS; ANISOTROPY; REVERSAL; FIELD; REORIENTATION; COERCIVITY; ROUGHNESS; ASYMMETRY; PT/CO | Co/Pt multilayer; magnetic domain structure; magneto-optic Kerr effect (MOKE) microscopy; perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) | Buffer layers; Cobalt; Domain walls; Magnetic anisotropy; Magnetic multilayers; Platinum; Co/Pt multilayer; Domain wall velocities; Magnetic-domain structures; Magnetic-field; MOKE microscopy; Nonhomogeneous medium; Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy; Symmetrics; Ultra-thin; Magnetic domains | English | 2022 | 2022-10 | 10.1109/tmag.2022.3199591 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Prevalence and characteristics of tonsillar human papillomavirus infection in tumor-free patients undergoing tonsillectomy | Objective: This study evaluated the prevalence and characteristics of tonsillar human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in tumor-free patients undergoing tonsillectomy. Methods: We prospectively enrolled healthy patients who underwent tonsillectomy for tumorfree tonsillar disease. Their tonsillar HPV infections were evaluated using CLART HPV2, and subsequent p16 immunohistochemistry was performed in patients with positive HPV infection. Moreover, the results of tonsillar HPV infection were analyzed according to sex, age, and indication of tonsillectomy. Results: A total of 362 patients were included. HPV test was positive in 8 patients, with an overall prevalence of 2.2%. All detected HPV types were high-risk, including HPV 16 in six patients, HPV 52 in one patient, and HPV 58 in one patient. P16 was negative in all 8 patients with HPV infection. The prevalence of tonsillar HPV infection in males and females was 2.4% (6/246) and 1.7% (2/116), respectively ( P > 0.999), and in pediatric and adult patients, 2.2% (5/228) and 2.2% (3/134), respectively ( P > 0.999). The prevalence showed a bimodal peak at 1st and 6th decades, with the prevalence of 2.6% (5/194) and 7.9% (3/38), respectively. The prevalence of tonsillar HPV infection in tonsillitis and non-tonsillitis groups were 0.0% (0/104) and 3.1% (8/258), respectively ( P = 0.111).Conclusion: The prevalence of tonsillar HPV infection in tumor-free patients was low, but all detected HPV infections were high-risk types. Our results support using a 9-valent vaccine which covers all high-risk HPV types found in this study (c) 2021 Japanese Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Inc. | ○ | ○ | Article | Ultrasonography for masses of the pharynx and larynx and assessment of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma | Objective: To evaluate the ultrasonography (US) characteristics of pharyngeal/laryngeal masses and the role of US in the assessment of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). Methods: This study enrolled patients who underwent US for evaluation of pharyngeal/laryngeal masses between 2018 and 2021. Characteristics of pharyngeal/laryngeal masses and subsite invasion in cases of LSCC were evaluated using US. Results: Forty-six patients with pharyngeal ( n = 22) /laryngeal ( n = 24) masses were enrolled. The pathological results were benign and malignant in 7 (15.2%) and 39 (84.8%) patients, respectively. Malignant masses were significantly associated with US characteristics of heterogeneity ( P = 0.002), irregular/speculated margin ( P < 0.001), and increased internal vascularity ( P = 0.014) compared with benign masses. In patients with LSCC, the detection rate of US for subsites invasion, including that of the anterior commissure, paraglottic space, outer cortex of the thyroid cartilage, cricoid cartilage, and extralaryngeal soft tissue, was similar to that of computed tomography (CT). Although the difference was not statistically significant, US more frequently demonstrated invasion of the inner cortex of the thyroid cartilage than CT (40.9% vs. 22.7%; P = 0.195). US and CT had a concordance rate of 81% (18 of 22 patients) in determining the tumour stage of the lesions. Conclusion: US could facilitate differentiation between benign and malignant masses of the pharynx and larynx in selective patients and has a possible role in the assessment of LSCC. | ○ | ○ | Review | Review of washing machine-related deaths in South Korea | We reviewed data on washing machine-related deaths between 2008 and 2020 in South Korea to analyze the case characteristics, manners of death, and causes of death. Washing machine-related deaths are very rare, and only 23 incidents were identified over the study period. Of these cases, 19 (82.6%) were related to general pulsator-type top load washing machines; the other 4 (17.4%) were related to front-load washing machines. The pulsator-type top load washing machine-related deaths occurred in people aged between 40 and 93 years (mean age, 68 years), including 9 men (47.4%) and 10 women (52.6%). The manners of death among the incidents were suicide in 12 cases (63.2%), accident in 6 cases (31.6%), and unknown in 1 case (5.3%). A Medline search of the English literature currently does not yield results for washing machine-related suicidal deaths in adults. Of the 12 suicide cases, 4 were autopsied; suicidal death was determined by postmortem investigation or based on suicide notes. Washing machine-related suicidal deaths are presumed to have characteristics similar to those of bathtub suicidal deaths. The front-load washing machine-related deaths involved boys aged between 6 and 8 years, and all cases were concluded as accidents. The cause of death was hypoxia resulting from the children being accidentally trapped inside the washing machine while playing. Greater attention to vulnerable groups, especially children and older adults, is required to reduce the rate of washing machine-related accidental or suicidal deaths. | Kim, Dae Yoil; Lee, SangHan; Nho, Seon Mi; Kwon, Oh Young; Kim, Dong Ja | Gyeongbuk Prov Police Agcy, Sci Invest Dept, Andong, South Korea; Minist Natl Def, Criminal Invest Command, Def Inst Forens Sci, Dept Forens Med, Seoul, South Korea; Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agcy, Sci Invest Dept, Gwangju, South Korea; Seoul Metropolitan Police Agcy, Sci Invest Dept, Seoul, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Forens Med, Daegu 41944, South Korea | 57347091000; 57192515418; 57193539664; 57346448300; 57282881600 | dongja222@knu.ac.kr; | LEGAL MEDICINE | LEGAL MED-TOKYO | 1344-6223 | 54 | SCIE | MEDICINE, LEGAL | 2022 | 1.5 | 61.8 | 0.38 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | Death; Suicide; Drowning; Positional asphyxia; Hypoxia | POSITIONAL ASPHYXIA; SUICIDE | Death; Drowning; Hypoxia; Positional asphyxia; Suicide | Accidents; Adult; Aged; Aged, 80 and over; Cause of Death; Child; Female; Humans; Male; Middle Aged; Republic of Korea; Suicide; accident prevention; accidental death; adult; aged; Article; asphyxia; autopsy; cause of death; child; clinical article; drowning; female; human; hypoxia; male; Medline; middle aged; mortality rate; preschool child; retrospective study; risk reduction; school child; South Korea; suicide; washing machine related death; accident; cause of death; epidemiology; very elderly | English | 2022 | 2022-02 | 10.1016/j.legalmed.2021.101994 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Lipocalin2 as a potential antibacterial drug against Acinetobacter baumannii infection | Available antibiotics to treat Acinetobacter baumannii infection is limited due to increasing resistance and the emergence of multiple drug-resistant strains. Hence, discovering effective agents against A. baumannii to reduce the number of infection-related deaths is imperative. In search of novel and alternative antibiotics, the antibacterial function of lipocalin2 (Lcn2) was investigated to treat systemic infections of A. baumannii using a mouse neutropenia model. We observed a significant increase in serum Lcn2 levels upon bacterial injection into the mouse, and the administration of recombinant Lcn2 (rmLcn2) extended their survival. Such protective effects were also observed in rmLcn2-pretreated macrophages, where rmLcn2 reduced the survival of the pathogen inside the macrophages. The underlying molecular mechanism of Lcn2 protection was also investigated. We observed that pretreatment of the Raw-264.7 macrophages with rmLcn2 markedly altered the expression of tonB3, which encodes a component of the transporter for ferrisiderophores in A. baumannii. However, the expression of katG, the gene encoding catalase, remained unaffected. These indicate that Lcn2-mediated defense against the pathogen is related to nutritional immunity rather than reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Furthermore, the addition of rmLcn2 in infected mice diminished bacterial burden in multiple organs and enhanced the expression of tonB3 in the liver, spleen, and lungs of the infected mice. Increased survival rate due to rmLcn2 treatment declined when the infection model was established using lcn2-defective (lcn2(-/-)) mice, which indicated the necessity of endogenous Lcn2. Therefore, the antibacterial function of Lcn2 can be exploited to develop an alternative therapeutic agent against A. baumannii. | Lim, Daejin; Park, Su-Jin; Kim, Ha Young; Shin, Minsang; Song, Miryoung | Kangwon Natl Univ, Coll Biomed Sci, Div Biomed Convergence, Chunchon 24341, South Korea; Korea Res Inst Biosci & Biotechnol KRIBB, Funct Biomat Res Ctr, Jeongeup 56212, South Korea; Chonnam Natl Univ, Dept Microbiol, Med Sch, Gwangju 61469, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Microbiol, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Hankuk Univ Foreign Studies, Dept Biosci & Biotechnol, Yongin 17035, South Korea | 55634007200; 7501829452; 57556348200; 7401536650; 57770497300 | songm@hufs.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF MICROBIOLOGY | J MICROBIOL | 1225-8873 | 1976-3794 | 60 | 4 | SCIE | MICROBIOLOGY | 2022 | 3 | 61.9 | 0.31 | 2025-06-25 | 4 | 3 | lipocalin2; Acinetobacter baumannii; infection; sepsis | BACTERIAL-INFECTION; LIVER; MODEL | Acinetobacter baumannii; infection; lipocalin2; sepsis | Acinetobacter baumannii; Acinetobacter Infections; Anti-Bacterial Agents; Humans; Lung; Macrophages; antiinfective agent; Acinetobacter baumannii; Acinetobacter infection; human; lung; macrophage; microbiology | English | 2022 | 2022-04 | 10.1007/s12275-022-2007-1 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Economic policy uncertainty, social capital, and corporate cash holdings | This study examines the moderating effect of social capital on the association between economic policy uncertainty (EPU) and cash holdings. Using a sample of US-listed firms from 1990 to 2018, social capital is found to have a positive moderating effect on the association between EPU and cash holdings. Our finding is robust even if we use alternative measures of cash, EPU, and social capital. Based on these outcomes, we suggest that firms located in a county with a high level of social capital endure high EPU by raising cash easily. | Seo, Dongwook; Mun, Seongjae | Korea Adv Inst Sci & Technol, Coll Business, Sch Business & Technol Management, Daejeon, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Business Adm, 80 Daehak Ro, Daegu, South Korea | 57216871605; 57216877275 | forbelld@knu.ac.kr; | APPLIED ECONOMICS LETTERS | APPL ECON LETT | 1350-4851 | 1466-4291 | 29 | 18 | SSCI | ECONOMICS | 2022 | 1.6 | 62.0 | 0.55 | 2025-06-25 | 6 | 6 | Economic policy uncertainty; social capital; cash holdings; systematic channel | cash holdings; Economic policy uncertainty; social capital; systematic channel | United States; economic policy; finance; social capital; uncertainty analysis | English | 2022 | 2022-10-24 | 10.1080/13504851.2021.1958138 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Marginal and Internal Fit and Intaglio Surface Trueness of Temporary Crowns Fabricated with Stereolithography, Digital Light Processing, and Milling Technology | To evaluate the fit and trueness of temporary crowns fabricated with 3D printing vs milling technologies and to analyze any existing correlations between fit and trueness. Materials and Methods: Marginal and internal fit and trueness were evaluated. Groups were compared using Kruskal-Wallis H test (alpha =.05), and correlations were analyzed using Spearman rank correlation analysis (alpha =.0016). Results: Intaglio surface trueness was partially correlated with the marginal and internal fit (P <.0016). Conclusion: High intaglio surface trueness in the axial and occlusal regions may result in poor marginal fit. In the axial region, high intaglio surface trueness may adversely affect both the marginal and internal fit. | Son, KeunBaDa; Lee, Li-Min; Lee, Kyu-Bok | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Adv Dent Device Dev Inst, Grad Sch, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Dent Sci, Grad Sch, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Prosthodont, Grad Sch, Daegu, South Korea | SON, Keunbada/AAG-8089-2019; Son, Keunbada/AAG-8089-2019 | 57202916520; 57193811541; 15925571200 | kblee@knu.ac.kr; | INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF PROSTHODONTICS | INT J PROSTHODONT | 0893-2174 | 1942-4426 | 35 | 5 | SCIE | DENTISTRY, ORAL SURGERY & MEDICINE | 2022 | 2.3 | 62.1 | 0.96 | 2025-06-25 | 6 | 6 | Computer-Aided Design; Crowns; Dental Marginal Adaptation; Dental Prosthesis Design; Stereolithography; computer aided design; dental marginal adaptation; prosthesis design; stereolithography; tooth crown | English | 2022 | 2022 (SEP-OCT) | 10.11607/ijp.7764 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Assessment of Risk Impact on Road Project Using Deep Neural Network | Road construction projects are complex endeavors, likewise the associated risks. Thus, identifying and assessing the potential risks associated with road projects is crucial to achieving project success. However, these associated risks are complex and dynamic, and the traditional risk assessment methods cannot accurately assess the risks. Hence, this paper presents a neural network approach by developing a deep neural network (DNN) model for assessing risk impact on project schedule and cost performance of road projects. The proposed DNN model was used to assess and predict the risk impact on 207 road projects in the Republic of Korea (ROK), and the accuracy was compared with a baseline neural network (BNN) and random forest regressor (RFR) models. The results show that the DNN model outperformed the BNN and RFR models, given the lowest mean squared error (MSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) values. The theoretical contribution of this study is related to risk assessment theory and the integration of expert judgment into a DNN model for effective risk assessment of road projects. Also, this study provides the practitioners with a systematic approach to predict accurate project schedule and cost performance considering the significant risk factors while enabling proper allocation of contingency allowance to schedule and cost baselines to guarantee project success. | Isah, Muritala Adebayo; Kim, Byung-Soo | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Civil Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57221472794; 57013677400 | bskim65@knu.ac.kr; | KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING | KSCE J CIV ENG | 1226-7988 | 1976-3808 | 26 | 3 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, CIVIL | 2022 | 2.2 | 62.2 | 1.07 | 2025-06-25 | 13 | 13 | Risk impact; Artificial neural network; Deep neural network; Random forest regression; Schedule performance; Cost performance | CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS; MODELS | Artificial neural network; Cost performance; Deep neural network; Random forest regression; Risk impact; Schedule performance | Complex networks; Decision trees; Forecasting; Highway planning; Mean square error; Risk assessment; Roads and streets; Cost performance; Neural network model; Neural-networks; Project cost; Project success; Random forest regression; Random forests; Risks impacts; Road projects; Schedule performance; Deep neural networks | English | 2022 | 2022-03 | 10.1007/s12205-021-1312-2 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Comparison of static-fluid or excretory magnetic resonance urography with computed tomography urography for visualization of nondilated renal pelvises and ureters in healthy Beagles | OBJECTIVE To assess the usefulness of magnetic resonance urography (MRU) for the visualization of nondilated renal pelvises and ureters in dogs and to compare our findings for MRU versus CT urography (CTU). ANIMALS 9 healthy Beagles. PROCEDURES Dogs underwent CTU, static-fluid MRU, and excretory MRU, with >= 7 days between procedures. Contrast medium was administered IV during CTU and excretory MRU, whereas urine in the urinary tract was an intrinsic contrast medium for static-fluid MRU. For each procedure, furosemide (1 mg/kg, IV) was administered, and reconstructed dorsal plane images were acquired 3 minutes (n = 2) and 7 minutes (2) later. Images were scored for visualization of those structures and for image quality, diameters of renal pelvises and ureters were measured, and results were compared across imaging techniques. RESULTS Excretory MRU and CTU allowed good visualization of the renal pelvises and ureters, whereas static-fluid MRU provided lower visualization of the ureters. Distention of the renal pelvises and ureters was good in excretory MRU and CTU. Distention of the ureters in static-fluid MRU was insufficient compared with that in CTU and excretory MRU. Distinct artifacts were not observed in CTU and excretory MRU images. Static-fluid MRU images had several mild motion artifacts. | Lee, Sang-Kwon; Hyeong, Seongjae; Kim, Soyeon; Jeon, Chang-Yeop; Lim, Kyung-Seob; Jin, Yeung Bae; Choi, Jihye | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Daegu, South Korea; Chonnam Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Gwangju, South Korea; Chonnam Natl Univ, BK21 Plus Project Team, Gwangju, South Korea; Korea Res Inst Biosci & Biotechnol KRIBB, Natl Primate Res Ctr NPRC, Cheongju, South Korea; Korea Res Inst Biosci & Biotechnol KRIBB, Futurist Anim Resource & Res Ctr FARRC, Cheongju, South Korea; Gyeongsang Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Jinju, South Korea; Seoul Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Dept Vet Med Imaging, Seoul, South Korea | 56494541400; 57458342300; 56643583100; 56522472100; 36470521900; 35344928700; 7501393193 | imsono@snu.ac.kr; | AMERICAN JOURNAL OF VETERINARY RESEARCH | AM J VET RES | 0002-9645 | 1943-5681 | 83 | 3 | SCIE | VETERINARY SCIENCES | 2022 | 1 | 62.2 | 0.22 | 2025-06-25 | 1 | 1 | MR UROGRAPHY; CT UROGRAPHY; ANTEGRADE PYELOGRAPHY; ECTOPIC URETERS; DIAGNOSIS; INJECTION | Animals; Contrast Media; Dogs; Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy; Ureter; Urography; alfaxalone; cefazolin; contrast medium; furosemide; abdominal radiography; Article; beagle; biochemical analysis; blood pressure measurement; breathing rate; catheterization; computed tomography urography; computer assisted tomography; contrast to noise ratio; excretory magnetic resonance urography; genetic heterogeneity; glomerulus filtration rate; image reconstruction; intravenous urography; kidney pelvis; nondilated renal pelvis; nonhuman; nuclear magnetic resonance imaging; patient monitoring; prospective study; urinalysis; urography; animal; diagnostic imaging; dog; nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy; procedures; ureter; urography; veterinary medicine | English | 2022 | 2022-03 | 10.2460/ajvr.21.03.0041 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Coping as a Mediator of the Relationship between Stress and Anxiety in Caregivers of Patients with Acute Stroke | According to Lazarus and Folkman's theory, stress and coping affect an individual's anxiety, which is an adaptive outcome. This study examined the mediation effects of stress-coping strategies on the relationship between stress and anxiety in caregivers of patients with acute stroke. A cross-sectional descriptive design was used to analyze a total of 131 caregivers caring for patients with acute stroke at a university hospital. The Caregivers Stress Scale, Ways of Coping Questionnaire, and Korean Beck Anxiety Inventory were used to quantify the participants' responses. Our results revealed that emotion-focused coping (beta = .56, p < .001) partially mediated the relationship between stress and anxiety (Z = 3.30, p < .001), suggesting its ability to exacerbate anxiety in the short term by acting as a mediator between stress and anxiety. Developing appropriate coping strategies for caregivers of patients with acute stroke is therefore critical for reducing their anxiety. | Lee, Yoonmi; Song, Yeoungsuk | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Daegu, South Korea | ; Song, Yeoungsuk/MSZ-3096-2025 | 57224358209; 55494171100 | asansong@knu.ac.kr; | CLINICAL NURSING RESEARCH | CLIN NURS RES | 1054-7738 | 1552-3799 | 31 | 1 | SCIE;SSCI | NURSING | 2022 | 1.7 | 62.2 | 0.98 | 2025-06-25 | 8 | 6 | caregivers; stress; coping; anxiety; stroke | SPOUSAL CAREGIVERS; 1ST YEAR; SURVIVORS; DEPRESSION; STRATEGIES; SYMPTOMS; STYLES; BURDEN | anxiety; caregivers; coping; stress; stroke | Adaptation, Psychological; Anxiety; Caregivers; Cross-Sectional Studies; Humans; Stress, Psychological; Stroke; anxiety; caregiver; cerebrovascular accident; coping behavior; cross-sectional study; human; mental stress | English | 2022 | 2022-01 | 10.1177/10547738211021223 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Delay Analysis Selection Model for a Construction Project | The decision to use static, dynamic, additive, or subtractive delay analysis is critical because making the wrong decision may have serious undesired consequences. As a response to this problem, a delay analysis selection (DAS) model was developed that identifies the most appropriate type of delay analysis for a target case. The model constitutes the first step of a two-step process to perform delay analysis. It involves a case-base that is populated by 3,776 possible cases developed by using combinations of 26 attributes that were found in the literature to influence the selection of the most appropriate type of delay analysis. The 26 attributes were organized in 7 categories. The weights of the attributes and the categories were calculated using the entropy method. The DAS model finds the best match between a target case and one of the cases stored in the case-base by performing weighted case similarity assessment. The type of delay analysis that is indicated in the matched case is adopted for use in the target case. This study is the first attempt to automate the selection of the most appropriate type of delay analysis. Once the most suitable type of delay analysis is identified in the first step, it is immediately performed in the second step. | Yang, Juneseok; Arditi, David; Lee, Dong-Eun; Mutis, Ivan | IIT, Dept Civil Architectural & Environm Engn, Chicago, IL 60616 USA; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Architecture Civil Environm & Energy, Daegu, South Korea | ; Arditi, David/AAF-4608-2021 | 57287207300; 35614735000; 56605563300; 8844144500 | arditi@iit.edu; | KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING | KSCE J CIV ENG | 1226-7988 | 1976-3808 | 26 | 12 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, CIVIL | 2022 | 2.2 | 62.2 | 0.25 | 2025-06-25 | 3 | 3 | Delay analysis; Delay claims; Construction projects; Decision support system; Similarity assessment; Litigation of delay-related disputes | COST OVERRUNS; TIME; SYSTEM | Construction projects; Decision support system; Delay analysis; Delay claims; Litigation of delay-related disputes; Similarity assessment | Artificial intelligence; Laws and legislation; Case base; Construction projects; Delay analysis; Delay claim; Entropy methods; Litigation of delay-related dispute; Selection model; Similarity assessment; Static dynamics; Two-step process; Decision support systems | English | 2022 | 2022-12 | 10.1007/s12205-022-2394-1 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Determining via the Kano Model the Importance of Quality Characteristics in Construction Management | Given the recent changes in the construction environment, construction management (CM) companies have used various methods to recognize, measure, and improve the importance of quality for customer satisfaction to ensure competitiveness in attracting customers. The present study examined the validity of the evaluation rule and determined the weight and weighting factor of each quality characteristic in the Kano model regarding CM. The quality characteristics and customer satisfaction level of the Kano model were utilized to assess the importance of each item, and the results were used to derive the CM work guidelines quality that can maximize customer satisfaction. Besides, based on previous studies, the validity of the determined CM work quality was evaluated through a questionnaire, which modifies the Kano model via the Delphi technique, and interviews with practitioners. This process determined the CM work quality that requires intensive management by selecting the one with high importance, depending on recognition by the project owner. The results of this study demonstrated that the proposed Kano model is effective in determining the importance of CM work quality for assessing the satisfaction level of the owner. | Cho, Jin-Ho; Kim, Byung-Soo | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Civil Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57469331000; 57013677400 | bskim65@knu.ac.kr; | KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING | KSCE J CIV ENG | 1226-7988 | 1976-3808 | 26 | 6 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, CIVIL | 2022 | 2.2 | 62.2 | 0.49 | 2025-06-25 | 5 | 6 | Kano model; Timko customer satisfaction coefficient (CSC); Improvement ratio (IR); Construction management; Work quality | Construction management; Improvement ratio (IR); Kano model; Timko customer satisfaction coefficient (CSC); Work quality | Customer satisfaction; Quality control; Sales; Surveys; Construction environment; Construction management; Customers' satisfaction; Environment constructions; Improvement ratio; Kano model; Quality characteristic; Timko customer satisfaction coefficient; Work quality; Project management | English | 2022 | 2022-06 | 10.1007/s12205-022-1830-6 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
