| ○ | ○ | Article | Area and Thickness Scaling of NbOx-Based Threshold Switches for Oscillation Neurons | The reversible transition between the on and off states of threshold switches under a constant pulse generates voltage oscillation, which can be exploited for compact neuron element in neuromorphic systems. Because the transition voltages play an important role in the oscillation behavior, area and thickness scaling analysis of NbOx-based devices is performed to identify the underlying mechanism. The threshold voltage (V-th) is sensitive to the device area, indicating that the on state of the device is achieved by the local formation of a conductive phase. On the other hand, the area-independent hold voltage (V-hold) becomes smaller due to the higher compliance current and increased temperature ambient, which implies that spontaneous dissolution of the phase is retarded. Through HSPICE simulation, we reveal that the greater difference between V-hold and V-th enables a high degree of freedom of oscillation frequency modulation. | Kim, Hyun Wook; Kang, Heebum; Hong, Eunryeong; Woo, Jiyong | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect & Elect Engn, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57557016000; 57232405900; 57556070800; 53985749100 | jiyong.woo@knu.ac.kr; | IEEE JOURNAL OF THE ELECTRON DEVICES SOCIETY | IEEE J ELECTRON DEVI | 2168-6734 | 10 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC | 2022 | 2.3 | 58.7 | 0.58 | 2025-06-25 | 8 | 7 | Threshold switching; NbOx; voltage oscillation; neuromorphic neuron | NbOx; neuromorphic neuron; Threshold switching; voltage oscillation | Degrees of freedom (mechanics); Neurons; SPICE; Threshold voltage; Area scaling; Nbox; Neuromorphic; Neuromorphic neuron.; On state; Reversible transitions; Thickness scaling; Threshold switches; Threshold switching; Voltage oscillation; Temperature measurement | English | 2022 | 2022 | 10.1109/jeds.2022.3169745 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Classification of Transmission Modes through a Narrow Slot in a Thick Conducting Screen | This paper examines electromagnetic energy transmission through a narrow slot in a thick conducting plate when a plane wave is incident to the slot. The slot in the thick plate creates a waveguide structure. From the perspective of cutoff frequency, the transmission characteristics are classified into three modes. The transmission cavity resonance (TCR) mode in the range above the cutoff depends on the plate thickness, and peak transmission cross-sections (TCSs) appear periodically along the plate thickness, known as Fabry-Perot resonance. The near-cutoff resonance transmission (NCRT) mode depends on the slot length and plate thickness, and the maximum TCS appears only once as a slot length resonance (or transverse resonance). The peak TCS for the NCRT mode occurs with a thin plate thickness, which produces slot length resonance. The non-transmission cavity (NTC) mode is a non-transmission and non-resonance mode and is not propagated. All the maximum TCSs for the TCR and NCRT modes occur in parallel resonance. The analysis results show that the classification of the three transmission modes through the thick plate slot is effectively explained by the TCS and aperture impedance. | Kim, Ki-Chai; Park, Gyeong-Sik; Min, Gyeong-Jun; Cho, Young-Ki | Yeungnam Univ, Dept Elect Engn, Gyongsan, South Korea; SL Co, Gyongsan, South Korea; Daegu Gyeongbuk Med Innovat Fdn DGMIF, Med Device Dev Ctr, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu, South Korea | 7409319315; 57346145100; 56537879100; 7404469777 | kckim@ynu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE | J ELECTROMAGN ENG SC | 2671-7255 | 2671-7263 | 22 | 4 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC | 2022 | 2.3 | 58.7 | 0.1 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 1 | Narrow Slot; Resonance Transmission; Thick Plate; Transmission Cross-Section | ELECTROMAGNETIC TRANSMISSION; SCATTERING; APERTURES; LIGHT | Narrow slot; Resonance transmission; Thick plate; Transmission cross-section. | English | 2022 | 2022-07 | 10.26866/jees.2022.4.r.117 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Copper ferrocyanide chemically immobilized onto a polyvinylidene fluoride hollow-fibre membrane surface for the removal of aqueous cesium | A method of chemically bonding copper ferrocynide (CuFC) to the surface of a PVDF hollow-fibre membrane (PVDF-CuFC) was designed and the resulting PVDF-CuFC was applied to the effective removal of aqueous cesium (Cs). In order to chemically immobilize CuFC on the surface of the PVDF hollow-fibre membrane, carboxyl groups were introduced onto the membrane surface (PVDF-COOH) to peptide bond with amine groups from CuFC. The introduction of the carboxyl group onto the surface of the PVDF hollow-fibre membrane was confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), while the immobilization of CuFC was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersed spectroscopy, FT-IR, and thermogravimetric analysis. The PVDF-CuFC showed higher Cs adsorption kinetics and adsorption capacity than PVDF-COOH. Moreover, as the initial pH increased, the amount of Cs adsorption by PVDF-CuFC also increased. However, the amount of Cs adsorption at pH 10 was slightly less. The applicability of PVDF-CuFC as a filter type adsorbent for the treatment of a Cs-contaminated water source is demonstrated by continuous filtration experiments. | Lee, Hyun-Kyu; Choi, Sang-June | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Res Inst Adv Energy Technol, 80 Daehak Ro, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Architectural Civil Environm & Energy Engn, Daegu, South Korea | 36465457300; 56605563600 | sjchoi@knu.ac.kr; | ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY | ENVIRON TECHNOL | 0959-3330 | 1479-487X | 43 | 15 | SCIE | ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES | 2022 | 2.8 | 58.7 | 0.54 | 2025-06-25 | 8 | 8 | Metal ferrocyanide; chemical modification; adsorption; membrane filtration; selectivity | HEXACYANOFERRATE; CS+ | adsorption; chemical modification; membrane filtration; Metal ferrocyanide; selectivity | Adsorption; Cesium; Ferrocyanides; Fluorocarbon Polymers; Kinetics; Polyvinyls; Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared; Water; Water Pollutants, Chemical; Cesium; Chemical bonds; Chemical modification; Chemicals removal (water treatment); Copper; Copper compounds; Cyanides; Fibers; Fluorine compounds; Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy; Membranes; Microfiltration; Scanning electron microscopy; Thermogravimetric analysis; Water filtration; Water pollution; cesium; chemical compound; copper ferrocyanide; polyvinylidene fluoride; unclassified drug; cupric ferrocyanide; ferrocyanide; fluorocarbon; polyvinyl derivative; polyvinylidene fluoride; water; Carboxyl groups; Cesium adsorption; Copper ferrocyanides; Membrane filtrations; Membrane surface; Metal ferrocyanides; P.V.D.F; Polyvinylidene fluoride hollow fiber membranes; PVDF hollow fiber membranes; Selectivity; adsorption; cesium; copper; fluoride; FTIR spectroscopy; membrane; peptide; reaction kinetics; scanning electron microscopy; adsorption kinetics; aqueous solution; Article; Barrett Joyner Halenda method; Brunauer Emmett Teller method; chemical immobilization; chemical procedures; energy dispersive X ray spectroscopy; filtration; Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy; Freundlich isotherm; heavy metal removal; immobilization; Langmuir isotherm; pH; scanning electron microscopy; surface modification; thermogravimetry; adsorption; chemistry; infrared spectroscopy; kinetics; water pollutant; Adsorption | English | 2022 | 2022-07-03 | 10.1080/09593330.2021.1871659 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Design of 24-40 GHz Ultra-Wideband Circularly Polarized Monopole Antenna with a Defected Ground Plane | A new design method for an ultra-wideband circularly polarized microstrip-fed monopole antenna with a ground defect is proposed in this paper. To achieve ultra-wideband circular polarization performance, a parallelogram-shaped ground defect is employed in the bottom layer. The analysis of the ultra-wideband axial ratio (AR) and the impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is performed both in the top and bottom layers. A semi-circular aperture is designed to achieve impedance matching in the 24-40 GHz frequency range. Then, the AR bandwidth is discussed considering the surface current distribution produced by the parallelogram-shaped ground defect to rote current in each orthogonal phase. A prototype of the proposed circularly polarized antenna with a 50% ultra-wide bandwidth (from 24 to 40 GHz), a 10-dB return loss, and a 3-dB AR was fabricated and measured. A 6-dBic right-hand circular polarization gain was also achieved. | Park, Ju Seong; Hong, Ji Hun; Kim, Kang Wook | Hanwha Syst, Yongin, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu, South Korea | 57741645500; 57211543326; 57204432422 | acckidi@naver.com;kkmc@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE | J ELECTROMAGN ENG SC | 2671-7255 | 2671-7263 | 22 | 3 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC | 2022 | 2.3 | 58.7 | 0.61 | 2025-06-25 | 6 | 6 | Axial Ratio; Circular Polarization; Monopole Antenna; Ultra-Wideband Width | APERTURE ANTENNA; ARRAY; GAIN | Axial ratio; Circular polarization; Monopole antenna; Ultra-wideband width | English | 2022 | 2022-05 | 10.26866/jees.2022.3.r.100 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Investigation of Proton Irradiation-Enhanced Device Performances in AlGaN/GaN HEMTs | We have studied the effects of proton irradiation on the AlGaN/GaN HEMTs with AlN buffer layer as well as conventional GaN buffer layer. It was found that a short time proton irradiation (similar to 50 sec) can promote beneficial effects on device performances, which results in great reduction in the off-state leakage current and the gate leakage current without degrading the output current and transconductance. The pulsed I-V measurement demonstrated that both devices exhibit greatly improved current dispersion characteristics and, particularly, the device with AlN buffer layer shows stronger radiation hardness than that of the device with GaN buffer layer. These interesting results are believed to be due to the hydrogen passivation with thermal annealing effect during the proton irradiation. It is expected that the proper irradiation condition such as fluence, energy, and time is crucial to improve the device performances, rather than to deteriorate the performances. | Kim, Jeong-Gil; Kim, Eunjin; Kim, Dong-Seok; Cho, Chuyoung; Lee, Jung-Hee | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect & Elect Engn, Daegu 701702, South Korea; Korea Atom Energy Res Inst, KOMAC, Gyeongju 38180, South Korea; Adv Nano Fab Ctr, KANC, Suwon 16229, South Korea | 57203324876; 57222322113; 55642581500; 23972116700; 57196140713 | jlee@ee.knu.ac.kr; | IEEE JOURNAL OF THE ELECTRON DEVICES SOCIETY | IEEE J ELECTRON DEVI | 2168-6734 | 10 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC | 2022 | 2.3 | 58.7 | 0.74 | 2025-06-25 | 8 | 9 | AlGaN/GaN; HEMT; proton irradiation; hydrogen passivation | AlGaN/GaN; HEMT; hydrogen passivation; proton irradiation | Aluminum gallium nitride; Aluminum nitride; Buffer layers; Gallium nitride; High electron mobility transistors; Hydrogen; III-V semiconductors; Leakage currents; Proton irradiation; % reductions; AlGaN/GaN HEMTs; AlGaN/GaN-HEMT; AlN buffer layers; Beneficial effects; Device performance; GaN buffer layers; Hydrogen passivation; Off-state leakage current; Protons irradiations; Passivation | English | 2022 | 2022 | 10.1109/jeds.2021.3128191 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Physics-Based Analytical Channel Charge Model of InxGa1-xAs/In0.52Al0.48As Quantum-Well Field-Effect Transistors From Subthreshold to Strong Inversion Regimes | This paper presents a physics-based analytical channel charge model for indium-rich InxGa1-xAs/In0.52Al0.48As quantum-well (QW) field-effect transistors (FETs) that is applicable from the subthreshold to strong inversion regimes. The model requires only seven physical/geometrical parameters, along with three transition coefficients. In the subthreshold regime, the conduction bands (E-C) of all regions are flat with finite and symmetrical QW configurations. Since the Fermi-level (E-F) is located far below E-C, the two-dimensional electron-gas density (n(2)-DEG) should be minimal and can thus be approximated from Maxwell-Boltzmann statistics. In contrast, the applied gate bias lowers the E-C of all structures in the inversion regime, yielding band-bending of an In0.52Al0.48As insulator and InxGa1-xAs QW channel. The dependency of the energy separation between E-F and E-C on the surface of the InxGa1-xAs QW channel upon VGS enables construction of the charge-voltage behaviors of InxGa1-xAs/In0.52Al0.48As QW FETs. To develop a unified, continuous and differentiable areal channel charge density (Q(ch)) model that is valid from the subthreshold to strong inversion regimes, the previously proposed inversion-layer transition function is further revised with three transition coefficients of eta, alpha and beta in this work. To verify the proposed approach, the results of the proposed model are compared with those of not only the numerically calculated Qch from a one-dimensional (1D) Poisson-Schrodinger solver, but also the measured gate capacitance of a fabricated In0.7Ga0.3As QW metal-insulator-semiconductor FET with large gate length, yielding excellent agreement between the simulated and measured results. | Jeong, Hyeon-Seok; Park, Wan-Soo; Jo, Hyeon-Bhin; Lee, In-Geun; Kim, Tae-Woo; Tsutsumi, Takuya; Sugiyama, Hiroki; Matsuzaki, Hideaki; Hahm, Sung-Ho; Lee, Jae-Hak; Kim, Dae-Hyun | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect & Elect Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Univ Ulsan, Elect Engn Dept, Ulsan 41610, South Korea; NTT Device Technol Labs, Atsugi, Kanagawa 2430198, Japan | ; Jo, Hyeon Bhin/HLW-9536-2023; Kim, Junghwan/AAQ-9204-2021; Sugiyama, Hiroki/P-6476-2019; Kim, Yong/H-6157-2013 | 57200366272; 57222957219; 57202871742; 37016357200; 57203495132; 37007126500; 35417698400; 7202461821; 7006791831; 55690077600; 57212363794 | dae-hyun.kim@ee.knu.ac.kr; | IEEE JOURNAL OF THE ELECTRON DEVICES SOCIETY | IEEE J ELECTRON DEVI | 2168-6734 | 10 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC | 2022 | 2.3 | 58.7 | 0.08 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 1 | InxGa1-xAs/In0.52Al0.48As QW FETs; two-dimensional electron-gate density (n(2)-DEG); subthreshold regime; inversion regime; near-threshold regime | TRANSPORT; CAPACITANCE; HEMT | InxGa1-xAs/In0.52Al0.48As QW FETs; inversion regime; near-threshold regime; subthreshold regime; two-dimensional electron-gate density (n2-DEG) | Capacitance; Density of gases; Field effect transistors; Gallium alloys; Metal insulator boundaries; MIS devices; Semiconductor alloys; Semiconductor quantum wells; Two dimensional electron gas; Gate density; Inversion regime; Inxga1-xas/in0.52al0.48as quantum-well field-effect transistor; Near thresholds; Near-threshold regime.; Quantum well field-effect transistors; Subthreshold; Subthreshold regime; Two dimensional electrons; Two-dimensional electron-gate density (n2-DEG); III-V semiconductors | English | 2022 | 2022 | 10.1109/jeds.2022.3171437 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Relations between global seismic parameters and activity cycles of the Sun | It is suggested that the dependency of the global asteroseismic parameters on stellar properties such as magnetic activity is carefully calibrated with a homogenous data sample in stellar parameters in the sense that the empirical scaling relations of the global asteroseismic parameters are used in estimating fundamental stellar properties. As an effort of examining the acoustic oscillations of very close stars in stellar parameters except the magnetic activity level, here, we explore the solar p-mode oscillations over the period from 1996 to 2014 covering the solar cycles 23 and the first half of 24 by analyzing photometric Sun-as-a-star data observed from the GREEN channel of the VIRGO/SPM instrument on board SoHO. By dividing the whole time series of observations into 19 segments of 1-year and calculating the corresponding power spectrum, we calculate the Spearman's rank correlation coefficient with the chance probability between temporal variations of the global asteroseismic parameters and the solar 10.7-cm radio flux. As a result, we have confirmed earlier findings that the envelope amplitude and solar activity are negatively correlated. The envelope width has been found to show a correlation with the solar activity. We also note temporal variations on timescales shorter than similar to 11 years in the envelope amplitude and width. As for the frequency of the maximum height in the acoustic power spectrum, the speculated correlation with solar activity has been reproduced. We have, finally, attempted to explore temporal variations of the background red-noise using a simple power-law and found that it appears to become steeper at solar minimum than at solar maximum. | Kim, Ki-Beom; Chang, Heon-Young | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Astron & Atmospher Sci, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 56190958000; 7407524806 | hyc@knu.ac.kr; | NEW ASTRONOMY | NEW ASTRON | 1384-1076 | 1384-1092 | 92 | SCIE | ASTRONOMY & ASTROPHYSICS | 2022 | 2 | 58.7 | 0.18 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | Solar oscillation; Solar activity; Asteroseismology | SOLAR P-MODES; FREQUENCY-SHIFTS; SCALING RELATION; MULTISITE CAMPAIGN; MAGNETIC ACTIVITY; OSCILLATIONS; EXCITATION; ROTATION; BISON; AMPLITUDES | Asteroseismology; Solar activity; Solar oscillation | English | 2022 | 2022-04 | 10.1016/j.newast.2021.101720 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Long-term surgical outcomes of Ahmed valve implantation in refractory glaucoma according to the type of glaucoma | Background We evaluated the long-term efficacy and surgical outcomes of Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation in patients with refractory glaucoma by glaucoma type. Methods In total, 135 eyes of 135 patients diagnosed with refractory glaucoma and underwent AGV implantation between 2002 and 2018 were reviewed retrospectively. The best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), and number of antiglaucoma medications were investigated at baseline and follow-up. The cumulative probability of qualified success according to the glaucoma type was evaluated at 12, 24, 36, and 60 months postoperatively. Results The mean IOP of all patients was 35.7 +/- 11.7 mmHg, which was significantly reduced 12.7 +/- 7.0 mmHg at 1 week, 16.2 +/- 7.5 mmHg at 2 weeks, 17.6 +/- 6.8 mmHg at 1 month, 17.5 +/- 6.4 mmHg at 3 months, 16.1 +/- 6.0 mmHg at 6 months, 16.7 +/- 8.0 mmHg at 12 months, 16.4 +/- 6.6 mmHg at 24 months, 15.6 +/- 5.0 mmHg at 36 months, and 15.6 +/- 5.6 mmHg at 60 months after surgery (p < 0.001, respectively). The mean number of antiglaucoma medications was 3.7 +/- 1.3, which significantly decreased to 0.4 +/- 0.9 at 1 week, 0.3 +/- 0.8 at 2 weeks, 0.7 +/- 0.9 at 1 month, 1.1 +/- 1.1 at 3 months, 1.4 +/- 1.0 at 6 months, 1.5 +/- 1.1 at 12 months, 1.6 +/- 1.2 at 24 months, 1.7 +/- 1.2 at 36 months, and 1.8 +/- 1.3 at 60 months after surgery (p < 0.001, respectively). The mean BCVA significantly improved from postoperative 2 weeks. Although 71 (52.6%) eyes had postoperative complications, the cumulative probability of surgical success was 72.6% at 12 months, 66.7% at 24 months, and 63.7% at 36 and 60 months. According to the glaucoma type, the success rate of AGV implantation was more than 50% even after 60 months follow-up, except subgroup of neovascular glaucoma (NVG) due to retinal vein occlusion (RVO). Conclusions AGV implantation in patients with refractory glaucoma was, after long-term follow-up, successful overall. Therefore, AGV implantation can be an effective surgical option to reduce the IOP and number of antiglaucoma medications and to improve visual acuity for various glaucoma types. | Kang, Yong Koo; Shin, Jae Pil; Kim, Dai Woo | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Ophthalmol, 680 Gukchaebosang Ro, Daegu 41944, South Korea | KANG, YONG KOO/IVH-8723-2023 | 57204703736; 56517350400; 57095192800 | proector97@gmail.com; | BMC OPHTHALMOLOGY | BMC OPHTHALMOL | 1471-2415 | 22 | 1 | SCIE | OPHTHALMOLOGY | 2022 | 2 | 58.9 | 3.71 | 2025-06-25 | 12 | 18 | Ahmed glaucoma valve; Intraocular pressure; Refractory glaucoma | KRUPIN-DENVER VALVE; CLINICAL-EXPERIENCE; BAERVELDT; TRABECULECTOMY; EFFICACY; SILICONE; DRAINAGE; HYPOTONY; SAFETY; TUBE | Ahmed glaucoma valve; Intraocular pressure; Refractory glaucoma | Follow-Up Studies; Glaucoma; Glaucoma Drainage Implants; Humans; Intraocular Pressure; Postoperative Complications; Prosthesis Implantation; Retrospective Studies; Treatment Outcome; follow up; glaucoma; glaucoma drainage implant; human; intraocular pressure; postoperative complication; prosthesis implantation; retrospective study; treatment outcome | English | 2022 | 2022-06-20 | 10.1186/s12886-022-02493-w | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Propionic acid induces apoptosis-like death in Escherichia coli O157 | Propionic acid (PPA), utilized in the manufacture of cellulose acetate propionate, is known to exhibit antimicrobial effects, but its mechanism in Escherichia coli O157 is still unknown. In general, antimicrobial activity is associated with reactive oxygen species (ROS), but ROS generation is not observed under PPA treatment. In addition to ROS, experiments were conducted to observe changes in trehalose and ion balance to discover factors that may affect the cell proliferation. Bacteria use trehalose, a sugar used for stabilization due to stress factors, which contradicts PPA concentration. Discrepancy in homeostasis follows as a result of ion imbalance. PPA causes interruption in bacterial internal stability in a dose-dependent manner. Membrane damage by ion imbalance occurs due to the binding ability of ionized PPA and divalent ions, which induce membrane depolarization, leading to a reduction in cell viability. Considering the lethal impact of membrane depolarization on cell death in bacteria, DNA fragmentation and phosphatidylserine exposure in apoptosis are confirmed. Due to severe damage in DNA, the activation of caspase-like protein is observed. Apoptosis-like death (ALD), a novel programmed cell death in bacteria, occurs eventually. In conclusion, ALD in E. coli O157 is induced via the contribution of homeostasis disruption in a ROS-independent manner. | Kim, Minji; Lee, Dong G. | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Life Sci, Coll Nat Sci, BK21 FOUR KNU Creat BioRes Grp, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Lee, Dong-Gun/IWD-9833-2023 | 57127351600; 55668060900 | dglee222@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF BASIC MICROBIOLOGY | J BASIC MICROB | 0233-111X | 1521-4028 | 62 | 1 | SCIE | MICROBIOLOGY | 2022 | 3.1 | 58.9 | 0.23 | 2025-06-25 | 3 | 2 | apoptosis-like death; Escherichia coli O157; homeostasis disruption; ion imbalance; propionic acid | HEMOLYTIC-UREMIC SYNDROME; CELL-DEATH; ANTIBIOTIC-TREATMENT; TREHALOSE; TRANSPORT; BACTERIA; ROLES; RISK | Apoptosis; Escherichia coli O157; Propionates; Reactive Oxygen Species; propionic acid; propionic acid derivative; reactive oxygen metabolite; apoptosis; Escherichia coli O157 | English | 2022 | 2022-01 | 10.1002/jobm.202100509 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | The Role of Serum CD26 in the Diagnosis of Gastric Cancer | Purpose: The value of serum cluster of differentiation 26 (CD26) in gastric cancer remains unknown. We investigated serum CD26 as a non-invasive serological marker for the diagnosis of gastric cancer and its relationship with serum human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) levels.Patients and Methods: We enrolled 393 gastric cancer patients treated with endoscopic resection or surgery, and 90 healthy controls. HER2 positivity in tissue was evaluated by immunohistochemistry staining, and the serum CD26 and HER2 levels were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Serum CD26 levels were significantly lower in gastric cancer patients than in healthy controls (582.2 +/- 254.3 vs 862.7 +/- 410.6 ng/mL, P<0.001). Serum CD26 levels were significantly lower in advanced gastric cancer compared to early gastric cancer (642.2 +/- 333.9 vs 503.4 +/- 332.7 ng/mL, P<0.001), and tended to decrease with gastric cancer progression. To diagnose gastric cancer, the optimal cut-off value of serum CD26 was 762.7 ng/mL with 75.6% sensitivity and 64.4% specificity. Serum CD26 levels were weakly correlated with serum HER2 levels (rs=0.363, P<0.001). However, no difference in serum CD26 levels was observed between tissue HER2-negative and HER2-positive gastric cancer groups (586.2 +/- 362.1 vs 579.6 +/- 264.8 ng/mL, P=0.898).Conclusion: CD26 is a useful non-invasive serological marker for gastric cancer diagnosis; however, its levels do not correlate with HER2 status. | Lee, Ju Yup; Park, Mae-Ja | Keimyung Univ, Dept Internal Med, Sch Med, Daegu, South Korea; Keimyung Univ, Inst Canc Res, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Anat, Daegu, South Korea | 55891683700; 7404491223 | mjpark@knu.ac.kr; | INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF GENERAL MEDICINE | INT J GEN MED | 1178-7074 | 15 | SCIE | MEDICINE, GENERAL & INTERNAL | 2022 | 2.3 | 58.9 | 0.16 | 2025-06-25 | 1 | 1 | gastric cancer; biomarker; CD26; HER2 | CD26/DIPEPTIDYL PEPTIDASE IV; DIPEPTIDYL-PEPTIDASE; STEM-CELLS; HER2; VALIDATION; SURVIVAL; SYSTEM | biomarker; CD26; gastric cancer; HER2 | dipeptidyl peptidase IV; epidermal growth factor receptor 2; tumor marker; adult; antigen blood level; Article; cancer diagnosis; cancer growth; cancer screening; clinical evaluation; clinical feature; comparative study; controlled study; correlational study; diagnostic test accuracy study; endoscopic surgery; enzyme linked immunosorbent assay; female; health care cost; human; human tissue; immunohistochemistry; major clinical study; male; middle aged; mortality rate; protein blood level; retrospective study; sensitivity and specificity; stomach cancer | English | 2022 | 2022 | 10.2147/ijgm.s378620 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||

Approximately 90% (n/N=270/299) of the patients received insulin glulisine, which significantly reduced their levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c: n=270, mean +/- standard deviation [SD]; -1.16 +/- 6.02%, p=0.0017), fasting plasma glucose (n=40; mean +/- SD: -54.9 +/- 90.89 mg/dl, p=0.0005), and post prandial blood glucose (n=35, mean +/- SD: -89.46 +/- 105.68 mg/dl, p= 2 RAI injections/day) had HbA1c = 2 RAI injections/day), and only 4.41% (n/N=9/204) of the patients were switched to 1 RAI injection/day. The patients receiving the intensive regimen showed higher levels of HbA1c reductions (mean +/- SD: -1.27 +/- 1.96%) compared with the maintenance group-1 RAI injection/day (mean +/- SD: -0.72 +/- 1.66%) (p=0.0459), without a significant increase in BW and body mass index. Conclusion: The insulin glulisine intensification regimen showed glycemic target achievement and can be considered a therapeutic tool in the management of T2DM patients. | Kim, Hye Soon; Yu, Jae Myung; Jang, Hak Chul; Choi, Eui Kwang; Park, Jeong Hyun; Shon, Ho Sang; Chung, Choon Hee; Park, Keun-Gyu; Cho, Jae Hyoung; Kim, Won; Lee, Kyoung Hwa; Lee, Jee Hyun; Yoo, Soon Jib | Keimyung Univ, Dept Internal Med, Sch Med, Daegu, South Korea; Hallym Univ, Med Ctr, Kangnam Sacred Heart Hosp, Dept Internal Med,Coll Med, Seoul, South Korea; Seoul Natl Univ, Dept Internal Med, Bundang Hosp, Seongnam, South Korea; Naedang Dr Chois Clin, Dept Internal Med, Seoul, South Korea; Inje Univ, Coll Med, Dept Internal Med, Busan, South Korea; Catholic Univ Daegu, Sch Med, Dept Internal Med, Daegu, South Korea; Yonsei Univ, Dept Internal Med, Wonju Coll Med, Wonju, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Internal Med, Daegu, South Korea; Catholic Univ Korea, Coll Med, Dept Endocrinol & Metab, Seoul, South Korea; Sanofi Aventis Korea, Med Dept, Seoul, South Korea; Catholic Univ Korea, Coll Med, Dept Internal Med, Bucheon St Marys Hosp, Bucheon 14647, South Korea | Hwang, You-Cheol/AAA-4616-2022; Lee, Kyoung-Hwa/AAJ-5213-2021; Cho, Young/J-5669-2012; Park, Jun/HPH-3570-2023; Jang, Hak/D-9637-2012 | 8248249500; 55682098800; 57964804300; 57704506100; 34974561400; 6701629945; 57293078600; 57202558343; 35175622200; 57297884700; 57297884800; 57203144814; 36341983100 | sjyoomt@gmail.com; | DIABETES METABOLIC SYNDROME AND OBESITY-TARGETS AND THERAPY | DIABET METAB SYND OB | 1178-7007 | 15 | SCIE | ENDOCRINOLOGY & METABOLISM | 2022 | 3.3 | 59.0 | 0.11 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 1 | glycated hemoglobin; insulin glulisine; intensification; RAI analogs | POSTPRANDIAL HYPERGLYCEMIA; CLINICAL ENDOCRINOLOGISTS; AMERICAN ASSOCIATION; CONSENSUS STATEMENT; MANAGEMENT; GLULISINE; GLARGINE; THERAPY; COLLEGE; WEIGHT | glycated hemoglobin; insulin glulisine; intensification; RAI analogs | glucose; hemoglobin A1c; insulin glulisine; short acting insulin; adult; Article; body mass; body weight; clinical effectiveness; clinical evaluation; cross-sectional study; disease registry; drug efficacy; drug use; female; glucose blood level; glycemic control; hemoglobin blood level; human; Korea; major clinical study; male; multicenter study; non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus; observational study; prescription | English | 2022 | 2022 | 10.2147/dmso.s334944 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | How to survive in advertisement flooding: The effects of schema-product congruity and attribute relevance on advertisement attitude | An increasing number of advertisements imply that market competition is becoming fiercer. This study identifies different types of advertising elements to suggest advertising design strategies that can attract consumers' attention. In this paper, we investigate the effects of schema congruity and attribute relevance on attitude toward advertising. We refer to schema congruity that is created by product color design as "color congruity" and verify the influence of color congruity. To identify the underlying psychological mechanism by which these effects occur, we investigate the mediating effect of perceived novelty and typicality on advertisement attitude. Study 1 identifies the effect of color congruity and product attribute relevance on advertising attitude. When presenting secondary attributes, low color congruity leads to a more favorable advertising attitude than that of high color congruity, whereas when presenting primary attributes, high color congruity is more effective. In Study 2, for secondary attributes, perceived novelty explains the positive impact of low color congruity on advertising attitude. However, for primary attributes, the effect of high congruity on advertising attitude is mediated by perceived typicality. These findings may be useful in proving guidelines for advertising companies and marketers that want to create fresh content by suggesting how to combine advertising elements that will attract consumers' attention. | Lee, Jihyeon; Kim, Hanku | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Business Adm, Daegu, South Korea | 57284597800; 57195427228 | hangu19@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR | J CONSUM BEHAV | 1472-0817 | 1479-1838 | 21 | 2 | SSCI | BUSINESS | 2022 | 4.3 | 59.4 | 1.44 | 2025-06-25 | 13 | 14 | advertisement attitude; attribute relevance; perceived novelty; perceived typicality; schema congruity | AESTHETIC PREFERENCE; CONSUMERS BRAND; NOVELTY; CONTEXT; TYPICALITY; IMPACT; PROTOTYPICALITY; COMMUNICATION; DETERMINANTS; INCONGRUITY | advertisement attitude; attribute relevance; perceived novelty; perceived typicality; schema congruity | English | 2022 | 2022-03 | 10.1002/cb.1991 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Thermoelectric investigation of low-cost modular night-time electricity generation | One of the major pressing issues in today's world is meeting the ever-increasing demand for sustainable and environment-friendly energy. To address this issue, renewable systems that capture energy through diverse energy scavenging techniques and devices are gaining interest. Among the aforementioned devices, thermoelectric generators (TEGs) are the temperature-dependent electricity-producing component that converts the temperature gradient (thermal input) directly into electrical energy without negatively affecting the environment. In the present study, a TEG was used to generate electricity using the radiative night-time sky cooling phenomenon. Both experimental and numerical approaches were applied to investigate the morphological characteristics of TEGs for night-time electricity generation. An in-house built night-time TEG model consisting of top and bottom plates, a block, and a TEG module sandwiched between them was used in this study. The effect of morphological characteristics, such as the type of material (Aluminium and Copper), the plate thicknesses, the number of thermocouples and the TEG leg length, on the open-circuit voltage was investigated. Experimental and numerical simulation results were found to be qualitatively consistent. Moreover, the reduction in plate thickness, the increase in the number of thermocouples, and the increase in TEG leg height increased the open-circuit voltage. The proposed model can act as a base model for the design and development of future models for night-time electricity generation. | Khan, Shahvaiz; Cheema, Taqi Ahmad; Hassan, Malik; Malik, Muhammad Sohail; Park, Cheol Woo | GIK Inst Engn Sci & Technol, Fac Mech Engn, Swabi 23460, Pakistan; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Mech Engn, 80 Daehak Ro, Daegu 41566, South Korea | malik, muhammad/K-9697-2015; Malik, Muhammad Sohail/K-9697-2015 | 57464063800; 36522492600; 57217477899; 56242268600; 7408416474 | tacheema@giki.edu.pk;chwoopark@knu.ac.kr; | HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER | HEAT MASS TRANSFER | 0947-7411 | 1432-1181 | 58 | 8 | SCIE | MECHANICS;THERMODYNAMICS | 2022 | 2.2 | 59.5 | 0.7 | 2025-06-25 | 9 | 7 | RENEWABLE ENERGY; HEAT; LOSSES | Costs; Electric power generation; Energy harvesting; Open circuit voltage; Thermoelectric equipment; Electricity-generation; Energy; Low-costs; Modulars; Morphological characteristic; Night time; Open-circuit voltages; Plate thickness; Pressung; Thermoelectric; Thermocouples | English | 2022 | 2022-08 | 10.1007/s00231-022-03190-6 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Inhibitory effects of aloin on lipopolysaccharide-induced severe inflammatory responses | Aloin is the main anthraquinone glycoside from Aloe species. Here, the anti-inflammatory functions of aloin against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced vascular inflammatory responses were tested in endothelial cells or mice such as permeability, expressions of cell adhesion molecule (CAM), migration of leukocytes and lethality. Aloin was found to inhibit LPS-induced barrier disruption, CAM expression, and neutrophil adhesion/transendothelial migration to endothelial cells. Furthermore, aloin inhibited LPS-induced hyperpermeability, leukocyte migration, lethality in vivo. These results suggest that aloin has anti-inflammatory activities against LPS, thereby supporting its usefulness as a treatment for vascular inflammatory. | Lee, In-Chul; Bae, Jong-Sup | Seowon Univ, Dept Cosmet Sci & Technol, Cheongju 28674, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Pharm, Res Inst Pharmaceut Sci, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Bae, Jong-Sup/AAU-9724-2020 | 56390536600; 16021543200 | baejs@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF ASIAN NATURAL PRODUCTS RESEARCH | J ASIAN NAT PROD RES | 1028-6020 | 1477-2213 | 24 | 10 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, APPLIED;CHEMISTRY, MEDICINAL;PHARMACOLOGY & PHARMACY;PLANT SCIENCES | 2022 | 1.7 | 59.6 | 0.22 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | Aloin; lipopolysaccharide; inflammation; barrier integrity | PROTEIN | Aloin; barrier integrity; inflammation; lipopolysaccharide | Animals; Anti-Inflammatory Agents; Cell Adhesion Molecules; Emodin; Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells; Humans; Lipopolysaccharides; Mice; Mice, Inbred C57BL; Molecular Structure; NF-kappa B; Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha; aloin; cell adhesion molecule; immunoglobulin enhancer binding protein; interleukin 6; lipopolysaccharide; tumor necrosis factor; alloin; antiinflammatory agent; cell adhesion molecule; emodin; immunoglobulin enhancer binding protein; lipopolysaccharide; tumor necrosis factor; animal cell; animal experiment; animal model; antiinflammatory activity; Article; cell adhesion; cell migration; controlled study; drug effect; endothelium cell; human; human cell; in vitro study; in vivo study; inflammation; leukocyte migration; male; mouse; neutrophil; nonhuman; transendothelial and transepithelial migration; animal; C57BL mouse; chemical structure; metabolism; umbilical vein endothelial cell | English | 2022 | 2022-10-03 | 10.1080/10286020.2022.2026932 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
