| ○ | ○ | Article | Evaluating the potential of digital twin derived from UAV imagery in vegetation monitoring of downtown streams | Downtown streams flowing through city centers are very narrow (less than 10 m wide) while distributed over long distances (at least more than 10 km). Taking aerial photos targeting downtown streams from a manned aircraft is virtually impossible because low-altitude flights are not permitted over densely populated city centers. However, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images taken at very low altitudes were able to explore area-wide vegetation distribution patterns along the downtown streams; these could not have been obtained from traditional field investigations. The structure from motion (SfM) was applied to build the UAV digital twin with imagery collected from diverse locations and imaging sensors on August 1, 2021. This study demonstrates the potential of digital twins derived from UAV imagery as a means of supplementing traditional field surveys in monitoring vegetation in downtown streams. Furthermore, this study verified that the digital twin was able to accommodate, quantitatively, the in-situ vegetation survey checklist (shape, size, height, tone, pattern, and community) proposed by Braun-Blanquet, in downtown streams from different points of view and angles, as well as spectral characteristics for the area-wide section of a downtown stream. This research output could be a valuable reference for the potential of digital twins derived from UAV imagery in vegetation surveys of downtown streams. | Hwang, Young-Seok; Lee, Jung-Joo; Cho, Nahye; Um, Jung-Sup | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Spatial Informat Sci, Daegu 41566, South Korea; LX Spatial Informat Res Inst, Wanju Gun 55365, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Geog, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Um, Jung-Sup/F-5351-2018 | 57218585482; 57212448507; 59775532800; 35173565000 | youngseokhwang@knu.ac.kr;jungju501@knu.ac.kr;nhcho@lx.or.kr;jsaeom@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF COASTAL CONSERVATION | J COAST CONSERV | 1400-0350 | 1874-7841 | 27 | 4 | SCIE | ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES;MARINE & FRESHWATER BIOLOGY | 2023 | 1.7 | 43.3 | 0.21 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | UAV; Vegetation monitoring; Digital twin; Downtown streams | INDICATORS | Digital twin; Downtown streams; UAV; Vegetation monitoring | imagery; monitoring; unmanned vehicle; vegetation | English | 2023 | 2023-08 | 10.1007/s11852-023-00953-z | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Preparation of low-radioactive high-purity enriched ¹⁰⁰MoO3 powder for AMoRE-II experiment | This paper describes preparing radiopure molybdenum trioxide powder enriched with Mo-100 isotope for the AMoRE-II experiment. AMoRE-II, the second phase of the AMoRE experiments, will search for the neutrinoless double-beta decay (0vDBD) of the Mo-100 isotope using over 100 kg of Mo-100 embedded in 200 kg of ultra-pure Li-2 (MoO4)-Mo-100 bolometric crystals. Efficient purification technology was developed and adapted to purify (MoO3)-Mo-100 powder with a 5 kg per month production capacity. Based on the ICP-MS analysis of purified powder, the Th-232 and U-238 were reduced to <9.4 mu Bq/kg and <50 mu Bq/kg, respectively. The concentrations of potassium, transition metals, and heavy metals were lower than 1 ppm. HPGe counting confirmed the reduction of progenies from the Th-232 and U-238 decay chains, reporting upper limits of <27 mu Bq/kg for Ac-228 and <16 mu Bq/kg for Th-228. The Ra-226 activity was acceptable at 110 +/- 30 mu Bq/kg. In the last 3 years, 100 kg of pure (MoO3)-Mo-100 powder was produced. The production yield for the final purified product was above 90%, while irrecoverable losses were under 1.5%, and all by-products could be recycled further. | Yeon, Hyojin; Choe, JunSeok; Gileva, Olga; Hahn, Kevin Insik; Kang, Woon Gu; Kim, Go Woon; Kim, Hong Joo; Kim, Yena; Kim, Yeongduk; Lee, Eun Kyung; Lee, Moo Hyun; Leonard, Douglas S. | ○ | Article | X-ray beam test of fabricated photo-diodes for Pohang-Accelerator-Laboratory X-ray free-electron laser | The Pohang-Accelerator-Laboratory X-ray free-electron laser (PAL-XFEL) emits intense, ultra-short X-ray pulses, enabling studies on ultra-small and -fast dynamics in various fields. We designed and fabricated silicon p-intrinsic-n photo-diodes (PDs) to detect strong X-ray pulses. Four types of PDs were fabricated with different metal shapes on the P- and N-sides. The fabrication process was split into two parts, based on the thickness of the Al metal and anti-reflective coating (ARC) layers, to evaluate the fabrication process feasibility and the detection performance. A beam test was performed with X-ray pulses at the soft X-ray beamline of the PAL-XFEL using the proposed PDs and a commercial PD. The test was designed to evaluate the effects of the metal and ARC layers and compare the detection efficiency depending on the X-ray entrance side and signal readout side. The waveforms were saved during the test and integrated to obtain the charges. Thereafter, they were analyzed and normalized, and compared. This paper presents the preparation, setup, and procedure of the beam test, and the test results are described. | ○ | ○ | Article | Financing renewable energy: policy insights from Brazil and Nigeria | BackgroundAchieving climate targets will require a rapid transition to clean energy. However, renewable energy (RE) firms face financial, policy, and economic barriers to mobilizing sufficient investment in low-carbon technologies, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Here, we analyze the challenges and successes of financing the energy transition in Nigeria and Brazil using three empirically grounded levers: financing environments, channels, and instruments.ResultsWhile Brazil has leveraged innovative policy instruments to mobilize large-scale investment in RE, policy uncertainty and weak financing mechanisms have hindered RE investments in Nigeria. Specifically, Brazil's energy transition has been driven by catalytic finance from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). In contrast, bilateral agencies and multilateral development banks (MDBs) have been the largest financiers of renewables in Nigeria. Policy instruments and public-private partnerships need to be redesigned to attract finance and scale market opportunities for RE project developers in Nigeria.ConclusionsWe conclude that robust policy frameworks, a dynamic public bank, strategic deployment of blended finance, and diversification of financing instruments would be essential to accelerate RE investment in Nigeria. Considering the crucial role of donors and MDBs in Nigeria, we propose a multi-stakeholder model to consolidate climate finance and facilitate the country's energy transition. | Isah, Abdulrasheed; Dioha, Michael O.; Debnath, Ramit; Abraham-Dukuma, Magnus C.; Butu, Hemen Mark | Swiss Fed Inst Technol, Energy & Technol Policy Grp, Zurich, Switzerland; SOAS Univ London, Dept Econ, London, England; Carnegie Inst Sci, Dept Global Ecol, Stanford, CA USA; Univ Cambridge, Cambridge Zero, Cambridge, England; Univ Cambridge, Judge Business Sch, Energy Policy Res Grp, Cambridge, England; CALTECH, Dept Humanities & Social Sci, Pasadena, CA USA; Just Transit Network, Jakarta, Indonesia; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Inst Global Climate Change & Energy, Daegu, South Korea; Afr Policy Res Inst, Berlin, Germany | ; Debnath, Ramit/MTC-5041-2025; Butu, Hemen/MBH-0863-2025; Isah, Abdulrasheed/ABD-5135-2021; Abraham-Dukuma, Magnus/HKP-1145-2023; Dioha, Michael/JPK-7040-2023 | 57226538435; 57204922463; 57190378554; 57211069193; 57214246289 | abdulrasheed.isah@gess.ethz.ch; | ENERGY SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIETY | ENERGY SUSTAIN SOC | 2192-0567 | 13 | 1 | SCIE | ENERGY & FUELS;GREEN & SUSTAINABLE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY | 2023 | 4.6 | 43.4 | 4.25 | 2025-06-25 | 27 | 34 | Renewable energy finance; Energy policy; Energy transition; Brazil; Nigeria | INVESTMENT; ROLES; BANKS; POWER | Brazil; Energy policy; Energy transition; Nigeria; Renewable energy finance | Brazil; Nigeria; Climate models; Energy policy; Brazil; Energy finances; Energy transitions; Multilaterals; Nigeria; Policy instruments; Renewable energies; Renewable energy finance; Renewable energy investments; Renewable energy policy; alternative energy; energy policy; investment; public-private partnership; stakeholder; strategic approach; Investments | English | 2023 | 2023-01-26 | 10.1186/s13705-022-00379-9 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Gene expression of Toll-like receptors, cytokines and a nuclear factor and cytokine secretion in DH82 canine macrophage cells infected with Brucella canis | Canine brucellosis caused by Brucella canis infection occurs mainly in dogs, and is a zoonotic disease that also has the possibility of infection in humans. Many studies have been conducted to understand the immunopathological mechanism of B. canis infection. However, the precise immune mechanism remains to be elucidated because compared to other Brucella spp., B. canis has different immune evasion mechanisms. In this study, gene expression levels of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) and TLR-associated molecules and cytokine production were analyzed to figure out the roles of immune-related host factors in B. canis infection. Time-dependent gene expression of TLRs (1-10) and TLR-related molecules (TNF-alpha, IL-5, IL-23, CCL4, CD40 and NF kappa-B) and release of Th1, Th2 and Th17-related cytokines (IFN-gamma, IL-1 beta, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-17A) were investigated in DH82 canine macrophages infected with B. canis. Time-dependent induction of TLRs 3, 7 and 8 was observed, and TLR 7 had the highest expression level (p <0.05). The expression levels of all TLR-related genes were significantly increased after infection. In particular, the expression of the CCL4 and IL-23 genes was highly induced. The amounts of IL1 beta, IL-6 and IL-10 were significantly increased by B. canis infection, but the amounts of IL-4 and IL-17A were not. The production of IL-1 beta and IL-6 was the highest at 24 hr after B. canis infection (p <0.05). This study demonstrates that TLRs 3, 7 and 8 are prominent sites of to immune response induction with the production of related cytokines and a nuclear factor in DH82 cells infected with B. canis. These results suggest a sequential immune mechanism of B. canis infection, involving TLRs, cytokines and their associated factors. | Park, Woo Bin; Kim, Suji; Kyung, Su Min; Lee, Eun-Seo; Lee, Young-Ju; Yoo, Han Sang | Seoul Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Dept Infect Dis, Seoul 08826, South Korea; Seoul Natl Univ, BK21 FOUR & Res Inst Vet Sci, Seoul 08826, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Vet Med, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Seoul Natl Univ, Inst Green Bio Sci & Technol, Pyeongchang 25354, South Korea | ; Kim, Ji/AAN-5655-2021 | 57190308720; 57204161930; 57435079100; 58210019600; 56612134500; 56507863000 | yoohs@snu.ac.kr; | VETERINARY IMMUNOLOGY AND IMMUNOPATHOLOGY | VET IMMUNOL IMMUNOP | 0165-2427 | 1873-2534 | 260 | SCIE | IMMUNOLOGY;VETERINARY SCIENCES | 2023 | 1.4 | 43.4 | 1.27 | 2025-06-25 | 5 | 5 | Brucella canis; Toll-like receptor; Cytokine; Immune mechanism; Dendritic cell | SIGNALING PATHWAYS; KAPPA-B; DOGS; RECOGNITION; ABORTUS; ROLES; IL-12; TLR4; AP-1 | Brucella canis; Cytokine; Dendritic cell; Immune mechanism; Toll-like receptor | Animals; Brucella canis; Brucellosis; Cytokines; Dog Diseases; Dogs; Gene Expression; Humans; Interleukin-10; Interleukin-17; Interleukin-23; Interleukin-4; Interleukin-6; Macrophages; Receptors, Cytokine; Toll-Like Receptors; CD40 antigen; cytokine; gamma interferon; immunoglobulin enhancer binding protein; interleukin 10; interleukin 17; interleukin 1beta; interleukin 23; interleukin 4; interleukin 5; interleukin 6; macrophage inflammatory protein 1beta; nuclear factor; toll like receptor; toll like receptor 1; toll like receptor 10; toll like receptor 3; toll like receptor 6; toll like receptor 7; toll like receptor 8; toll like receptor 9; tumor necrosis factor; cytokine; cytokine receptor; interleukin 10; interleukin 17; interleukin 23; interleukin 4; interleukin 6; toll like receptor; animal cell; Article; Brucella canis; canine brucellosis; controlled study; cytokine production; cytokine release; dendritic cell; DH82 cell line; gene expression; gene expression level; gene expression profiling; immune response; immune-related gene; macrophage; nonhuman; protein expression; quantitative analysis; real time polymerase chain reaction; Th1 cell; Th17 cell; Th2 cell; animal; brucellosis; dog; dog disease; genetics; human; metabolism; veterinary medicine | English | 2023 | 2023-06 | 10.1016/j.vetimm.2023.110607 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||

| ○ | ○ | Article | Hypertonic Salt Solution Enhances Inflammatory Responses in Cultured Splenic T-Cells from Dahl Salt-Sensitive Rats but Not Dahl Salt-Resistant Rats | This study aimed to delineate the effect of sodium chloride on the induction of inflammatory responses and the development of hypertension in Dahl salt-sensitive (SS) and salt-resistant (SR) rats. Splenocytes were isolated from the spleens of SS and SR rats, and cultured on anti-CD3-coated plates for 5 days. The cultured splenic T-cells were challenged with a hypertonic salt solution (0, 20, or 40 mM) in the absence or presence of IL-6 (0, 20, or 60 ng/mL), TGF-beta (0, 5, or 15 ng/mL), or IL-23 (0, 10, or 30 ng/mL), and analyzed via ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence. The hypertonic salt solution potentiated IL-17A production, as well as the differentiation of Th17 cells via IL-6/TGF-beta/IL-23, exclusively in SS rats. However, it did not affect IL-10 production or the differentiation of Treg cells in any of the groups. Furthermore, it potentiated the signal of ROR gamma t in IL-6-treated splenic T-cells from SS rats. To summarize, cultured splenic T-cells exhibited enhanced inflammatory responses on exposure to a hypertonic salt solution in SS rats only, which indicated that sodium chloride and inflammatory cytokines synergistically drove the induction of pathogenic Th17 cells and the development of hypertension in this group only. | Jang, Sungmin; Kim, Jee Young; Kim, Cheong-Wun; Kim, Inkyeom | Sch Med, Dept Pharmacol, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Cardiovasc Res Inst, Daegu 41944, South Korea; BK21 Plus KNU Biomed Convergence Program, Daegu 41944, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Grad Sch, Dept Biomed Sci, Daegu 41944, South Korea | 57897824500; 57222261625; 56662531400; 7404144630 | wkdtjdals6487@naver.com;withjyk12@gmail.com;kcw7829@nate.com;inkim@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF CARDIOVASCULAR DEVELOPMENT AND DISEASE | J CARDIOVASC DEV DIS | 2308-3425 | 10 | 10 | SCIE | CARDIAC & CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEMS | 2023 | 2.4 | 43.9 | 0.58 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | hypertonic salt solution; salt sensitivity; Th17 cells; Treg cells; Dahl salt-sensitive rats; Dahl salt-resistant rats | T(H)17; DIFFERENTIATION; INDUCTION | Dahl salt-resistant rats; Dahl salt-sensitive rats; hypertonic salt solution; salt sensitivity; Th17 cells; Treg cells | CD3 antibody; hypertonic solution; interleukin 10; interleukin 17; interleukin 23; interleukin 6; retinoid related orphan receptor gamma; sodium chloride; transforming growth factor beta; animal cell; animal experiment; animal model; animal tissue; Article; controlled study; cytokine production; Dahl salt resistant rat; Dahl salt sensitive rat; enzyme linked immunosorbent assay; flow cytometry; hypertension; immunofluorescence assay; inflammation; lymphocyte differentiation; male; nonhuman; pathogenesis; rat; regulatory T lymphocyte; spleen; spleen cell; splenic T cell; T cell culture; Th17 cell | English | 2023 | 2023-10 | 10.3390/jcdd10100414 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | KEYSTEP-008: phase II trial of pembrolizumab-based combination in MSI-H/dMMR metastatic colorectal cancer | Robust clinical activity has been observed with the immune checkpoint inhibitor pembrolizumab in patients with microsatellite instability-high/mismatch repair-deficient (MSI-H/dMMR) metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). However, given the response rate of 45% and a median progression-free survival of 16.5 months with first-line pembrolizumab demonstrated in KEYNOTE-177, there is room for improvement. Targeting a second immune receptor, such as CTLA-4, LAG-3, TIGIT, or ILT-4 may improve efficacy of PD-1 inhibition. Here we describe the design and rationale for the open-label, randomized, phase II KEYSTEP-008 trial, which will evaluate the efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab-based combination therapy compared with pembrolizumab monotherapy in chemotherapy-refractory (cohort A) or previously untreated (cohort B) MSI-H/dMMR mCRC.Clinical Trial Registration: NCT04895722 (ClinicalTrials.gov) | Andre, Thierry; Pietrantonio, Filippo; Avallone, Antonio; Gumus, Mahmut; Wyrwicz, Lucjan; Kim, Jong Gwang; Yalcin, Suayib; Kwiatkowski, Mariusz; Lonardi, Sara; Zolnierek, Jakub; Odeleye-Ajakaye, Amos; Leconte, Pierre; Fogelman, David; Kim, Tae Won | Sorbonne Univ, Hop St Antoine, Dept Med Oncol, F-75012 Paris, France; Fdn IRCCS Ist Nazl Tumori, Med Oncol Dept, I-20133 Milan, Italy; IRCCS Fdn G Pascale, Ist Nazl Tumori, Dept Abdominal Oncol, I-80131 Naples, Italy; Istanbul Medeniyet Univ, Goztepe Prof Dr Suleyman Yalcin City Hosp, Dept Med Oncol, TR-34700 Istanbul, Turkiye; Narodowy Inst Onkol Marii Sklodowskiej Curie, Klin Onkol & Radioterapii, PL-00001 Warsaw, Poland; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Obstet & Gynecol, Daegu 41404, South Korea; Hacettepe Univ, Dept Med Oncol, TR-06230 Ankara, Turkiye; Szpital Wojewodzki Mikolaja Kopern Koszalinie, Dept Oddzial Dzienny Chemioterapii, PL-75581 Koszalin, Poland; Veneto Inst Oncol IRCCS, Dept Oncol, I-31033 Padua, Italy; LuxMed Onkol Warszawa, Ul Szamocka 6, PL-01748 Warsaw, Poland; Merck & Co Inc, Rahway, NJ USA; MSD France, Dept Med Oncol, F-92800 Puteaux La Defense, France; Univ Ulsan, Asan Med Ctr, Dept Oncol, Coll Med, Seoul 05505, South Korea | Kim, Tae Won/GRX-7323-2022; Gumus, Mahmut/HTO-4176-2023; Avallone, Antonio/K-4662-2016; André, Thierry/N-8830-2017; Lonardi, Sara/F-4228-2014; Yalcin, Suayib/KWT-7106-2024; Pietrantonio, Filippo/C-2180-2017 | 55944312600; 56374131600; 7004103098; 6701500721; 6602585943; 59501049300; 7101652066; 58124631500; 7003773949; 8368479400; 58769400300; 58061294400; 6507960533; 56504151300 | thierry.andre@aphp.fr; | FUTURE ONCOLOGY | FUTURE ONCOL | 1479-6694 | 1744-8301 | 19 | 37 | SCIE | ONCOLOGY | 2023 | 3 | 43.9 | 0.54 | 2025-06-25 | 8 | 8 | favezelimab; MK-4830; MSI-H/dMMR colorectal cancer; pembrolizumab; quavonlimab; vibostolimab | MISMATCH REPAIR-DEFICIENT; MICROSATELLITE INSTABILITY; PLUS IPILIMUMAB; NIVOLUMAB NIVO; OPEN-LABEL; FOLLOW-UP; CHEMOTHERAPY; IPI | favezelimab; MK-4830; MSI-H/dMMR colorectal cancer; pembrolizumab; quavonlimab; vibostolimab | Antibodies, Monoclonal, Humanized; Clinical Trials, Phase II as Topic; Colonic Neoplasms; Colorectal Neoplasms; Humans; Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors; cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen 4; favezelimab; immunological antineoplastic agent; lymphocyte activation gene 3 protein; mk 4830; pembrolizumab; programmed death 1 ligand 1; quavonlimab; unclassified drug; vibostolimab; immune checkpoint inhibitor; monoclonal antibody; pembrolizumab; adult; clinical article; cohort analysis; controlled study; drug efficacy; drug response; drug safety; female; human; male; median survival time; metastatic colorectal cancer; microsatellite instability; mismatch repair; monotherapy; multicenter study; open study; phase 2 clinical trial; progression free survival; randomized controlled trial; Review; young adult; colon tumor; colorectal tumor; genetics; phase 2 clinical trial (topic) | English | 2023 | 2023-12 | 10.2217/fon-2022-1105 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |

| ○ | ○ | Article | Automated Site Survey for Fingerprints in Fully Blind Indoor Environments Based on Sensor Integration | WiFi systems have been often preferred as admirable alternative for satellite-based systems for indoor location-based services. Although fingerprints-based localization techniques show fairly reliable performances with the received signal strength indicator, site survey processes to construct a database require excessive time for measurement works. Existing studies to reduce such time bring many constraints. In this letter, an automated fingerprints construction technique is proposed to survey perfectly blind indoor environments. To survey without human intervention, the global positioning system, pedestrian dead reckoning system, and the fine timing measurement protocol are integrated. The proposed technique is validated with site measurements in two sites. | Park, Kyoung-Min; Lee, Eunji; Choi, Jeongsik; Kim, Seong-Cheol | Samsung Elect, Samsung Res, Seoul 06765, South Korea; Seoul Natl Univ, Inst New Media, Dept Elect Engn Commun, Seoul 08826, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll IT Engn, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | ; Choi, Jeongsik/ABA-6906-2020 | 57201318307; 57393526900; 58534394200; 22334016200 | km92.park@samsung.com;ej9309@maxwell.snu.ac.kr;jeongsikchoi722@gmail.com;sckim@maxwell.snu.ac.kr; | IEEE SENSORS LETTERS | IEEE SENSOR LETT | 2475-1472 | 7 | 1 | ESCI | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC;INSTRUMENTS & INSTRUMENTATION;PHYSICS, APPLIED | 2023 | 2.2 | 44.1 | 0.57 | 2025-06-25 | 4 | 4 | Location awareness; Fingerprint recognition; Trajectory; Sensors; Protocols; Indoor environment; Global Positioning System; Sensor systems; fine timing measurements; fingerprints localization; indoor site survey; location-based service; pedestrian dead reckoning; sensor integration; WiFi positioning | LOCALIZATION | fine timing measurements; fingerprints localization; indoor site survey; location-based service; pedestrian dead reckoning; sensor integration; Sensor systems; WiFi positioning | Encoding (symbols); Global positioning system; Indoor positioning systems; Location; Navigation; Pattern recognition; Telecommunication services; Timing circuits; Wireless local area networks (WLAN); Fine timing measurement; Fingerprint localization; Fingerprint Recognition; Indoor environment; Indoor site survey; Localisation; Location awareness; Location-based services; Pedestrian dead reckonings; Sensor integration; Site surveys; Timing measurement; Wi-Fi Positioning; Location based services | English | 2023 | 2023-01 | 10.1109/lsens.2022.3233577 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Defective nano-silica loaded polymeric carbon nitride for visible light driven CO2 reduction and dye degradation | A hybrid composite of polymeric carbon nitride (PCN) and defective nano-silica (n-SiOx) photocatalyst has been synthesized, exhibiting a high surface area, improved light response, and reduced charge recombination. The synergistic formation of PCN-n-SiOx interface facilitated photoinduced charge transfer from PCN to n-SiOx, resulting in suppressed carrier recombination. The resultant hybrid PCN-n-SiOx sample demonstrated a three-fold photocatalytic reduction of CO2 into methanol and formic acid. Furthermore, photoelectrocatalytic CO2 reduc-tion selectively yielded 283.0 mu mol L-1 of formic acid, a five-fold increment compared to bare PCN (57.0 mu mol L-1). These findings hold promise for the development of PCN-based hybrid composites for solar-powered applications. | Bhoyar, Toshali; Abraham, B. | ○ | ○ | Review | State-of-the-art review on photocatalysis for efficient wastewater treatment: Attractive approach in photocatalyst design and parameters affecting the photocatalytic degradation | This review focuses on recently proposed photocatalyst designs for maximizing the efficiency of photogenerated charge carriers to improve the photocatalytic performance of photocatalysts. These designs include doping with metal and non-metal ions, surface grafting, noble metal deposition, dye sensitization, and heterostructure fabrication. In addition, this review thoroughly examines all the prominent parameters that can influence the degradation efficiency of photocatalysts. Furthermore, this review summarizes the energy-band structures of photocatalysts that are suitable for both O2 reduction and the oxidation of surface H2O molecules to generate reactive oxygen species. Lastly, we discuss future trends in the development of photocatalysts for environmental applications. | Lee, Dong-Eun; Kim, Mo-Keun; Danish, Mohtaram; Jo, Wan-Kuen | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Architecture Civil Environm & Energy Engn, 80 Daehak Ro, Daegu 41566, South Korea | ; Jo, Wan/AAO-5329-2020 | 56605563300; 14825499400; 57216220743; 7103322277 | dmohtaram@gmail.com;wkjo@knu.ac.kr; | CATALYSIS COMMUNICATIONS | CATAL COMMUN | 1566-7367 | 1873-3905 | 183 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, PHYSICAL | 2023 | 3.4 | 44.1 | 4.98 | 2025-06-25 | 93 | 117 | Photocatalysis; Design parameter; Band structure; Wastewater pollutant; Degradation mechanism | TERNARY NANOCOMPOSITE; HIGHLY EFFICIENT; CHARGE-TRANSFER; METHYLENE-BLUE; ONE-POT; PHOTO DEGRADATION; ORGANIC-DYES; DOPED TIO2; LIGHT; HETEROJUNCTION | Band structure; Degradation mechanism; Design parameter; Photocatalysis; Wastewater pollutant | Band structure; Degradation; Grafting (chemical); Metal ions; Photocatalysis; Precious metals; Degradation mechanism; Design parameters; Metals ions; Non-metals; Photocatalytic degradation; Photocatalytic performance; Photogenerated charge carriers; State-of-the art reviews; Surface grafting; Wastewater pollutants; Wastewater treatment | English | 2023 | 2023-10 | 10.1016/j.catcom.2023.106764 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
