| ○ | ○ | Article | Correlation between macular edema recurrence and macular capillary network destruction in branch retinal vein occlusion | Background The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between changes in the macular capillary network and macular edema (ME) recurrence with branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) using swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA). Methods We reviewed the data for 43 patients with treatment-naive ME associated with BRVO. Patients who received intravitreal bevacizumab injection were divided into two groups based on ME recurrence at 6 months after edema resolution. The perifoveal capillary morphology and the macular capillary vessel density (VD) were retrospectively analyzed usingen faceSS-OCTA after ME resolution. Results The perifoveal capillary ring loss in the superficial capillary plexus (SCP) and deep capillary plexus (DCP) was more common in the ME recurrence group (n = 22) than in the no ME recurrence group (p = 0.047 andp = 0.002). Relative to the findings in the no ME recurrence groups, the destruction of the perifoveal capillary ring was more severe in the DCP (30.0 degrees vs 87.3 degrees,p = 0.001) than in the SCP (17.3 degrees vs 69.5 degrees,p = 0.006) in the ME recurrence group. The hemi-VD disparity between the affected and the unaffected areas in the SCP and DCP showed significant differences (p = 0.031 andp = 0.017), while macular VD showed no differences between the groups. Conclusions Destruction of the perifoveal capillary ring and hemi-VD disparity could be related to ME recurrence in BRVO. Therefore, these factors may be helpful in predicting ME recurrence. | Jang, Ji Hye; Kim, Yu Cheol; Shin, Jae Pil | Keimyung Univ, Sch Med, Dept Ophthalmol, Daegu, South Korea; Keimyung Univ, Inst Med Sci, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Ophthalmol, Daegu, South Korea | Kim, Yucheol/LRS-9072-2024 | 57218653758; 57209137254; 56517350400 | mjmom99@naver.com; | BMC OPHTHALMOLOGY | BMC OPHTHALMOL | 1471-2415 | 20 | 1 | SCIE | OPHTHALMOLOGY | 2020 | 2.209 | 62.1 | 0.89 | 2025-06-25 | 10 | 12 | Branch retinal vein occlusion; Macular capillary network; Macular edema; Optical coherent tomography angiography; Vessel density | OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY; FOVEAL AVASCULAR ZONE; ENDOTHELIAL GROWTH-FACTOR; NATURAL-HISTORY; FLUORESCEIN ANGIOGRAPHY; DENSITY; EYES; PATHOGENESIS; PERFUSION; ACUITY | Branch retinal vein occlusion; Macular capillary network; Macular edema; Optical coherent tomography angiography; Vessel density | Fluorescein Angiography; Fundus Oculi; Humans; Intravitreal Injections; Macular Edema; Retinal Vein Occlusion; Retinal Vessels; Retrospective Studies; Tomography, Optical Coherence; Visual Acuity; diagnostic imaging; eye fundus; fluorescence angiography; human; intravitreal drug administration; macular edema; optical coherence tomography; retina blood vessel; retina vein occlusion; retrospective study; visual acuity | English | 2020 | 2020-08-24 | 10.1186/s12886-020-01611-w | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Heimann-Bielschowsky phenomenon and hypotropic DVD in case of monocular vision loss: a case report | Background The Heimann-Bielschowsky phenomenon (HBP) is an underrecognized condition characterized by slow, pendular, vertical oscillations of the eye accompanying monocular vision loss. Hypotropic dissociated vertical deviation (DVD) is another rare condition induced by asymmetric visual input. This report documents a rare case of HBP with hypotropic DVD. Case presentation This report describes a case of a 58-year-old woman with HBP and hypotropic DVD, having suffered monocular vision loss in the left eye due to blunt trauma at the age of 10. Preoperatively, she was orthophoric at near fixation and demonstrated an intermittent, slow hypotropia of the left eye upon distance fixation that never rose above the midline. She underwent a 7 mm recession of the inferior rectus muscle in the left eye. After surgery, intermittent, downward drifts became constant vertical oscillations at both distance and near fixation. Conclusions This case describes the clinical manifestation of an eye movement disorder related to prolonged monocular vision loss. | Choi, Hyung Jun; Chun, Bo Young | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Ophthalmol, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Brain Sci & Engn Inst, 680 Gukchaebosang St, Daegu 700422, South Korea | 57216589446; 25644902100 | byjun424@hotmail.com; | BMC OPHTHALMOLOGY | BMC OPHTHALMOL | 1471-2415 | 20 | 1 | SCIE | OPHTHALMOLOGY | 2020 | 2.209 | 62.1 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | Heimann-Bielschowsky phenomenon; Hypotropic DVD; Monocular vision loss; Case report | Case report; Heimann-Bielschowsky phenomenon; Hypotropic DVD; Monocular vision loss | Blindness; Eye Movements; Female; Humans; Middle Aged; Oculomotor Muscles; Strabismus; Vision, Binocular; Vision, Monocular; binocular vision; blindness; case report; extraocular muscle; eye movement; female; human; middle aged; monocular vision; strabismus | English | 2020 | 2020-06-26 | 10.1186/s12886-020-01502-0 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Inhibitory functions of cardamonin against particulate matter-induced lung injury through TLR2,4-mTOR-autophagy pathways | Particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter equal to or less than 2.5 mu m (PM2.5) is a form of air pollutant that causes significant lung damage when inhaled. Cardamonin, a flavone found in Alpinia katsumadai Heyata seeds, has been reported to have anti-inflammatory and anticoagulative activity. The aim of this study was to determine the protective effects of cardamonin on PM2.5-induced lung injury. Mice were treated with cardamonin via tail-vein injection 30 min after the intratracheal instillation of PM2.5. The results showed that cardamonin markedly reduced the pathological lung injury, lung wet/dry weight ratio, and hyperpermeability caused by PM2.5. Cardamonin also significantly inhibited PM2.5-induced myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity in lung tissue, decreased the levels of PM2.5-induced inflammatory cytokines and effectively attenuated PM2.5-induced increases in the number of lymphocytes in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF). And, cardamonin increased the phosphorylation of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and dramatically suppressed the PM2.5-stimulated expression of toll-like receptor 2 and 4 (TLR 2,4), MyD88, and the autophagy-related proteins LC3 II and Beclin 1. In conclusion, these findings indicate that cardamonin has a critical anti-inflammatory effect due to its ability to regulate both the TLR2,4-MyD88 and mTOR-autophagy pathways and may thus be a potential therapeutic agent against PM2.5-induced lung injury. | Lee, Wonhwa; Hahn, Dongyup; Sim, Hyunchae; Choo, Samyeol; Lee, Sangkyu; Lee, Taeho; Bae, Jong-Sup | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Plus KNU Multiom Based Creat Drug Res Team BK21, Res Inst Pharmaceut Sci, Coll Pharm,CMRI, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Korea Res Inst Biosci & Biotechnol, Aging Res Ctr, Daejeon 34141, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Agr & Life Sci, Sch Food Sci & Biotechnol, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Lee, Wonhwa/GLQ-6506-2022; Bae, Jong-Sup/AAU-9724-2020 | 50161632800; 36554163400; 57219098739; 57219092520; 57209046767; 57204032003; 16021543200 | tlee@knu.ac.kr;baejs@knu.ac.kr; | FITOTERAPIA | FITOTERAPIA | 0367-326X | 1873-6971 | 146 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MEDICINAL;PHARMACOLOGY & PHARMACY | 2020 | 2.882 | 62.1 | 0.36 | 2025-06-25 | 7 | 8 | Cardamonin; Particulate matter; Lung injury; TLR2,4-mTOR-autophagy | NF-KAPPA-B; INDUCED INFLAMMATION; SIGNALING PATHWAYS; FINE; AUTOPHAGY; PM2.5; RESPONSES; RECEPTOR; DIESEL; MTOR | Cardamonin; Lung injury; Particulate matter; TLR2,4-mTOR-autophagy | Animals; Anti-Inflammatory Agents; Autophagy; Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid; Cells, Cultured; Chalcones; Cytokines; Endothelial Cells; Lung Injury; Male; Mice; Mice, Inbred BALB C; Particulate Matter; Signal Transduction; Toll-Like Receptor 2; Toll-Like Receptor 4; TOR Serine-Threonine Kinases; autophagy related protein; autophagy related protein lc3 ii; beclin 1; cardamonin; cytokine; flavone; mammalian target of rapamycin; myeloid differentiation factor 88; myeloperoxidase; toll like receptor 2; toll like receptor 4; unclassified drug; antiinflammatory agent; cardamonin; chalcone derivative; cytokine; mTOR protein, mouse; target of rapamycin kinase; Tlr2 protein, mouse; Tlr4 protein, mouse; toll like receptor 2; toll like receptor 4; animal cell; animal experiment; animal model; Article; autophagy (cellular); bronchoalveolar lavage fluid; capillary endothelial cell; chemical structure; controlled study; enzyme activity; lung injury; lung parenchyma; lymphocyte; male; mouse; nonhuman; particulate matter 2.5; pneumonia; priority journal; signal transduction; adverse event; animal; autophagy; Bagg albino mouse; cell culture; cytology; drug effect; endothelium cell; lung injury; metabolism; particulate matter; signal transduction | English | 2020 | 2020-10 | 10.1016/j.fitote.2020.104724 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||

| ○ | ○ | Article | Application of aqueous carbonated slags in the immobilization of heavy metals in field-contaminated soils | The aqueous carbonation efficiencies of basic oxygen furnace (BOF) and ladle slags at various pressures, temperatures, and liquid-to-solid (L/S) ratios were investigated to determine optimum conditions. The maximum CO2 carbonated concentrations in slag (0.584 mmol/g for BOF slag and 1.038 mmol/g for ladle slag) was obtained at 10 bars, 40 degrees C, and L/S = 5 mL/g-dry. The L/S ratio was the most critical parameter for carbonation. The effect of carbonated slag amendment on the immobilization of heavy metals in two field-contaminated soils was also investigated. The immobilization efficiencies evaluated by using the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) and the Standards, Measurements and Testing Programme (SM&T) were above 90% for both raw and carbonated slags for all soils. The TCLP-extractable heavy metals concentrations were below the criteria (5.0, 1.0 and 5.0 g/L for Pb, Cd, and Cr, respectively) after immobilizations with both slags except for Pb in soil B. The SM&T analysis showed the decrease in the exchangeable phase but the increase in residual phase after immobilization with raw and carbonated slags. The results of this study imply the promising potential of the carbonated slags on the immobilization of heavy metals in the field-contaminated soils. | Choi, Jiyeon; Shin, Won Sik | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Architecture Civil Environm & Energy Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57211707591; 23019870800 | wshin@knu.ac.kr; | ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH | ENVIRON ENG RES | 1226-1025 | 2005-968X | 25 | 3 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ENVIRONMENTAL;ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES | 2020 | 2.507 | 62.2 | 0.22 | 2025-06-25 | 7 | 6 | Aqueous carbonation; Contaminated soils; Heavy metals; Immobilization; Slag | STAINLESS-STEEL SLAG; BASIC OXYGEN FURNACE; ACCELERATED CARBONATION; BLAST-FURNACE; MINERAL SEQUESTRATION; CO2 SEQUESTRATION; ASH; KINETICS; BEHAVIOR; SORPTION | Aqueous carbonation; Contaminated soils; Heavy metals; Immobilization; Slag | Basic oxygen converters; Carbonation; Efficiency; Heavy metals; Ladles; Slags; Soil testing; Soils; Aqueous carbonation; Contaminated soils; Immobilization efficiency; Metals concentrations; Optimum conditions; Residual phase; Standards , measurements and testing; Toxicity characteristic leaching procedures; Soil pollution | English | 2020 | 2020-06 | 10.4491/eer.2019.101 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Characteristics of direct transesterification using ultrasound on oil extracted from spent coffee grounds | Spent coffee grounds (SCG), the residue after brewing coffee beverage, is a promising biodiesel feedstock due to its high oil contents (15.20%). However, SCG should be pretreated to reduce the high free fatty acid content, which hampers transesterification reaction. To overcome this, we explored a direct transesterification reaction of SCG using ultrasound irradiation and identified the optimal sonication parameters. A high fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) content, up to 97.2%, could be achieved with ultrasound amplitude of 99.2 mu m, irradiation time of 10 min, and methanol to oil ratio of 7:1 in the presence of potassium hydroxide concentration of 1.25 wt.%. In addition, we demonstrated that ultrasound irradiation is an efficient method to produce biodiesel from untreated SCG in a short time with less energy than the conventional mechanical stirring method. The physical and chemical properties of the SCG biodiesel met the requirements for an alternative fuel to the current commercial biodiesel. | Kim, Yeong Su; Woo, Duk-Gam; Kim, Tae Han | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Bioind Machinery Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Hokkaido Univ, Res Fac Agr, Sapporo, Hokkaido 0608589, Japan | Woo, Duk/AAZ-2522-2020 | 57210594021; 57210347680; 57204040387 | dgwoo@bpe.agr.hokudai.ac.jp; | ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH | ENVIRON ENG RES | 1226-1025 | 2005-968X | 25 | 4 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ENVIRONMENTAL;ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES | 2020 | 2.507 | 62.2 | 0.22 | 2025-06-25 | 7 | 9 | Biodiesel; Energy consumption; Pretreatment; Spent coffee grounds; Transesterification; Ultrasound | IN-SITU TRANSESTERIFICATION; WASTE COOKING OIL; BIODIESEL PRODUCTION; VEGETABLE-OIL; OPTIMIZATION; STABILITY; CATALYSIS; EMISSION; FUELS | Biodiesel; Energy consumption; Pretreatment; Spent coffee grounds; Transesterification; Ultrasound | Biodiesel; Irradiation; Potassium hydroxide; Transesterification; Ultrasonics; Direct transesterification; High free fatty acids; Hydroxide concentration; Physical and chemical properties; Sonication parameters; Transesterification reaction; Ultrasound amplitude; Ultrasound irradiation; Fatty acids | English | 2020 | 2020-08 | 10.4491/eer.2019.076 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Effect of kinematic viscosity variation with blended-oil biodiesel on engine performance and exhaust emission in a power tiller engine | The optimum conditions for producing biodiesel by combining beef tallow, a waste resource with high saturated fatty acid content, and soybean oil, which has high unsaturated fatty acid content, were investigated. Furthermore, the kinematic viscosity reduction effects of biodiesel by using heating and ultrasonic irradiation were verified, and their impacts on engine performance and exhaust emissions were evaluated. The result shows that the optimum production conditions are a blend ratio of TASO3 (soybean oil to tallow blend ratio of 7:3) and a methanol to oil molar ratio of 12:1. Kinematic viscosity reduction experiment results showed that the kinematic viscosity reduction effects of ultrasonic irradiation and heating were similar, but the heating device is considered more effective because it is simpler and cheaper than the ultrasonic device. Experiment results on output performance and exhaust performance showed that the engine performance and exhaust performance of the fuel with reduced kinematic viscosity were higher than those of the untreated fuel. However, the output of biodiesel was lower than those of conventional diesel (CD) due to the low calorific value of biodiesel; the NOx and CO2 emissions of biodiesel were higher than those of CD, but the CO and HC emissions of biodiesel were lower. | Woo, Duk-Gam; Kim, Tae Han | Hokkaido Univ, Res Fac Agr, Sapporo, Hokkaido 0608589, Japan; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Bioind Machinery Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Woo, Duk/AAZ-2522-2020 | 57210347680; 57204040387 | thakim@knu.ac.kr; | ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH | ENVIRON ENG RES | 1226-1025 | 2005-968X | 25 | 6 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ENVIRONMENTAL;ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES | 2020 | 2.507 | 62.2 | 0.33 | 2025-06-25 | 7 | 11 | Brake-specific fuel consumption; Blended oils; Biodiesel; Exhaust emissions; Kinematic viscosity; Tallow | WASTE COOKING OIL; METHYL-ESTER; FUEL PROPERTIES; VEGETABLE-OILS; BEEF TALLOW; COMBUSTION CHARACTERISTICS; CETANE NUMBER; FATTY ESTERS; ANIMAL FATS; FRYING OIL | Biodiesel; Blended oils; Brake-specific fuel consumption; Exhaust emissions; Kinematic viscosity; Tallow | Engines; Irradiation; Kinematics; Molar ratio; Saturated fatty acids; Soybean oil; Unsaturated fatty acids; Viscosity of liquids; Engine performance; Exhaust emission; Heating devices; High unsaturated fatty acid; Optimum conditions; Output performance; Ultrasound irradiation; Viscosity reduction; Biodiesel | English | 2020 | 2020-12 | 10.4491/eer.2019.358 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Three-dimensional double-network hydrogels of graphene oxide, alginate, and polyacrylonitrile for copper removal from aqueous solution | Three-dimensional (3D) double-network graphene oxide/alginate-polyacrylonitrile (GO/Ca-Alg(2)-PAN) composite hydrogels were synthesized via surface functionalization of GO to activate adsorption sites. The morphology and structure of the GO/Ca-Alg(2)-PAN were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA-DSC). The results of the physicochemical analyses indicated that GO/Ca-Alg2-PAN was successfully synthesized by the combination of a 2D-structured graphene oxide with the alginate which was functionalized with the PAN polymer to generate the 3D double network composites. This functionalization approach contributed to an increase in Cu2+ ion adsorption capacity. The maximum adsorption capacity of the GO/Ca-Alg(2)-PAN for Cu2+ was 5.99 mmol/g. The results of adsorption kinetic experiments indicated that the GO/Ca-Alg2-PAN reached adsorption equilibrium within 147 mins at 2 mM Cu2+ in accordance with a pseudo-second-order model. | Choi, Jung-Weon; Kim, Hee Jin; Ryu, Hayeon; Oh, Sanghwa; Choi, Sang-June | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Architectural Civil Environm & Energy Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Kim, Heejin/HII-8568-2022 | 56996378900; 57193334513; 57207848761; 26665620700; 56605563600 | sjchoi@knu.ac.kr; | ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH | ENVIRON ENG RES | 1226-1025 | 2005-968X | 25 | 6 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ENVIRONMENTAL;ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES | 2020 | 2.507 | 62.2 | 0.88 | 2025-06-25 | 15 | 18 | Adsorbent; Copper; Double network; Graphene oxide; Polymer; Wastewater | ADSORPTION; BEADS; FIBERS; IONS; NANOCOMPOSITES; LEAD | Adsorbent; Copper; Double network; Graphene oxide; Polymer; Wastewater | Composite structures; Copper; Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy; Graphene; Hydrogels; Morphology; Scanning electron microscopy; Thermogravimetric analysis; Brunauer emmett tellers; Double-network hydrogels; Fourier transform infra red (FTIR) spectroscopy; Morphology and structures; Physico-chemical analysis; Pseudo-second order model; Surface Functionalization; Threedimensional (3-d); Adsorption | English | 2020 | 2020-12 | 10.4491/eer.2019.442 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Review | Continuous emotion estimation of facial expressions on JAFFE and CK plus datasets for human-robot interaction | Human-robot interaction was always based on estimation of human emotions from human facial expressions, voice and gestures. Human emotions were always categorized in a discretized manner, while we estimate facial images from common datasets for continuous emotions. Linear regression was used in this study which numerically quantizes human emotions as valence and arousal by displaying the raw images on the two-respective coordinate axis. The face image datasets from the Japanese female facial expression (JAFFE) dataset and the extended Cohn-Kanade (CK+) dataset were used in this experiment. Human emotions for the above-mentioned datasets were interpreted by 85 participants who were used in the experimentation. The best result from a series of experiments shows that the minimum of root mean square error for the JAFFE dataset was 0.1661 for valence and 0.1379 for arousal. The proposed method has been compared with previous methods such as songs, sentences, and it is observed that the proposed method for common datasets testing showed an outstanding emotion estimation performance. | Lee, Hyun-Soon; Kang, Bo-Yeong | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Mech Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Lee, Juyoung/Y-3277-2019; Kang, Bo-Yeong/IXW-6764-2023 | 56824620800; 26643468300 | hslee.knu@gmail.com;kby09@knu.ac.kr; | INTELLIGENT SERVICE ROBOTICS | INTEL SERV ROBOT | 1861-2776 | 1861-2784 | 13 | 1 | SCIE | ROBOTICS | 2020 | 2.246 | 62.5 | 0.29 | 2025-06-25 | 8 | 12 | Emotion estimation; Human-robot interaction; Arousal; Valence | RECOGNITION; REGRESSION | Arousal; Emotion estimation; Human–robot interaction; Valence | Mean square error; Arousal; Emotion estimation; Facial Expressions; Human emotion; Human facial expressions; Robot interactions; Root mean square errors; Valence; Human robot interaction | English | 2020 | 2020-01 | 10.1007/s11370-019-00301-x | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Development and validation of a prediction model for home discharge in patients with moderate stroke: The Korean stroke cohort for functioning and rehabilitation study | Background: Previous studies have investigated the predictors for home discharge without considering stroke severity. Objectives: To develop a practical assessment tool that predicts home discharge for moderate stroke patients after subacute rehabilitation therapy in the tertiary hospitals. Methods: Stroke patients with National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale scores of 6 to 13 were included in this prospective cohort study. Various demographic, clinical, and functional factors were analyzed as potential predictive factors. A weighted scoring model was developed through the following three-step process: 1) selection of the factors by logistic regression analyses, 2) development of a weighted scoring model, and 3) validation of the generalizability of the model. Results: The home discharge rate was 51% (n = 372), and the overall mean length of stay of hospitalization was 32.5 days. 1) The Cognitive Functional Independence Measure, 2) the Functional Ambulation Categories, 3) the modified Charlson Comorbidity Index, and 4) marital status were independent predictors of home discharge. The coefficient value for marital status was adjusted to 1 in the scoring system, and the values of the other parameters were proportionally converted to the nearest integer. Possible total scores ranged from 0 to 13 in the model, with a higher score indicating a higher probability of home discharge. With a cutoff point of 7, this model showed 87.0% sensitivity and 86.2% specificity (area under the curve = 0.90). Conclusions: This novel assessment tool can be useful in predicting home discharge after subacute rehabilitation of moderate stroke patients. | Kim, Min-Su; Joo, Min Cheol; Sohn, Min Kyun; Lee, Jongmin; Kim, Deog Young; Lee, Sam-Gyu; Shin, Yong-Il; Kim, Soo-Yeon; Oh, Gyung-Jae; Lee, Yang-Soo; Han, Eun Young; Han, Junhee; Ahn, Jeonghoon; Chang, Won Hyuk; Kim, Yun-Hee; Choi, Ji Yoo; Kang, Sung Hyun; Kim, Young Taek | Wonkwang Univ, Dept Rehabil Med, Sch Med, Iksan, South Korea; Chungnam Natl Univ, Dept Rehabil Med, Sch Med, Daejeon, South Korea; Konkuk Univ, Sch Med, Dept Rehabil Med, Seoul, South Korea; Yonsei Univ, Coll Med, Dept & Res Inst Rehabil Med, Seoul, South Korea; Chonnam Natl Univ, Med Sch, Dept Phys & Rehabil Med, Gwangju, South Korea; Pusan Natl Univ, Dept Rehabil Med, Sch Med, Yangsan Hosp, Busan, South Korea; Wonkwang Univ, Sch Med, Dept Prevent Med, Iksan, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Rehabil Med, Daegu, South Korea; Jeju Natl Univ, Jeju Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Rehabil Med, Jeju, South Korea; Hallym Univ, Dept Stat, Chunchon, South Korea; Ewha Womans Univ, Dept Hlth Convergence, Seoul, South Korea; Sungkyunkwan Univ, Samsung Med Ctr, Heart Vasc Stroke Inst, Ctr Prevent & Rehabil,Dept Phys & Rehabil Med,Sch, 81 Irwon Ro, Seoul 06351, South Korea; Korea Ctr Dis Control & Prevent, Div Chron Dis Prevent, Ctr Dis, Cheongju, South Korea | Ahn, Jeonghoon/CAA-1956-2022; Kim, Young/AEP-2940-2022; Kim, Yun-Hee/GVS-6426-2022; Lee, Jongmin/Q-4909-2019; kim, deog young/Q-8498-2019 | 57205374605; 56982599700; 7101840459; 57202882113; 55375583000; 10142402000; 55890990500; 57203773165; 7007056685; 57202952463; 8567466000; 57192890252; 8855402200; 35301717900; 57020121600; 57212612679; 57213818761; 36190975800 | jmc77@daum.net;yunkim@skku.edu; | TOPICS IN STROKE REHABILITATION | TOP STROKE REHABIL | 1074-9357 | 1945-5119 | 27 | 6 | SCIE | REHABILITATION | 2020 | 2.119 | 62.5 | 0.76 | 2025-06-25 | 10 | 7 | Disability Evaluation; Patient Discharge; Recovery of Function; Rehabilitation; Stroke | INDEPENDENCE MEASURE; ISCHEMIC-STROKE; DESTINATION; SCALE; ADMISSION; SCORES; MOTOR; RISK; DETERMINANTS; COMORBIDITY | Disability Evaluation; Patient Discharge; Recovery of Function; Rehabilitation; Stroke | Cohort Studies; Hospitalization; Humans; Patient Discharge; Prospective Studies; Republic of Korea; Sensitivity and Specificity; Stroke; Stroke Rehabilitation; aged; Article; brain ischemia; cerebrovascular accident; Charlson Comorbidity Index; cohort analysis; disabled person; female; Functional Independence Measure; home care; hospital discharge; hospitalization; human; Korea; length of stay; longitudinal study; major clinical study; male; marriage; mobilization; multicenter study; National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale; prediction; prospective study; receiver operating characteristic; scoring system; sensitivity and specificity; spouse; stroke patient; stroke rehabilitation; tertiary care center; validation process; cerebrovascular accident; pathophysiology; South Korea | English | 2020 | 2020-08-17 | 10.1080/10749357.2019.1711338 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Infrastructural developmental citizenship: Chinese lawyers and state-framed marketization | China's judicial system supports state-led developmentalism, whereby recently reinstated lawyers are expected to concentrate their practice on servicing marketized economic activities for the sake of national economic development. In other words, contemporary Chinese lawyers, as part of the legal infrastructure for the increasingly marketized economy, are practically required to bedevelopmental lawyers, so they broadly share the developmental citizenship of most Chinese citizens. Such status of Chinese lawyers corresponds to the overall systemic order of China as a post-socialist state in which socio-economic liberalization has been advanced for developmental purposes without attendant political liberalization (that is, reforming the party-state dictatorship). While most lawyers have managed to survive or succeed in the context of such developmental instrumentality, their professional authority and integrity in upholding the rule of law have been chronically compromised by both the economic order that remains state-segmented and the political discouragement of civil rights advocacy. | Lee, Dongjin | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Sociol, Daegu, South Korea | 57218629945 | dojile@knu.ac.kr; | CITIZENSHIP STUDIES | CITIZENSHIP STUD | 1362-1025 | 1469-3593 | 24 | 7 | SSCI | POLITICAL SCIENCE | 2020 | 1.67 | 62.6 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | Developmental citizenship; fragmented state; role of Chinese lawyers; developmental lawyers; rights lawyers | RIGHTS | Developmental citizenship; developmental lawyers; fragmented state; rights lawyers; role of Chinese lawyers | China; citizenship; infrastructural development; legal system; national economy; state led development; state role | English | 2020 | 2020-10-02 | 10.1080/13621025.2020.1812956 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Late Quaternary transpressional earthquakes on a long-lived intraplate fault: A case study of the Southern Yangsan Fault, SE Korea | The NNE-SSW-striking Yangsan Fault in southeastern Korea has been regarded as one of the most prominent seismogenic structures in the Korean Peninsula on the basis of instrumental and historical seismicity, and paleoseismic records along the fault zone. Its seismic behavior is, however, still uncertain due to long recurrence intervals of strong earthquakes and insufficient historical and geologic records. We conducted a detailed paleoseismic investigation, including an 8 m-deep excavation, in order to understand recent earthquake-faulting events along the Southern Yangsan Fault. Our observations indicate that at least two and possibly four dominantly strike-slip surface-faulting events have occurred along a subsidiary fault in the eastern boundary of the fault valley since the late Pleistocene. Stratigraphic features and OSL ages of the stratigraphy exposed in the trenches indicate that the most recent rupture(s) occurred after 29.2 +/- 1.4 ka and the timing of earlier ruptures are constrained to between 70.0 +/- 3.7 ka and 29.2 +/- 1.4 ka. Using a contact of the oldest dated unit that has at least 7.5 m of vertical separation, we calculate a minimum vertical slip rate during the late Quaternary of 0.11 mm/yr. The minimum horizontal slip rate is presumed to be two times that of the vertical slip rate based on striations observed on clasts next to the fault core. We also propose that the late Quaternary earthquake-faulting kinematics along the Yangsan Fault, expressed as contractional dextral slip with east-side-up geometry, is strongly dependent on a pre-existing fault zone architecture with a strike of N10-20 degrees E that dips to the east, and the direction of neotectonic maximum horizontal stress (ENE-WSW to E-W). | Cheon, Youngbeom; Choi, Jin-Hyuck; Kim, Namgwon; Lee, Hoil; Choi, Iyre; Bae, Hankyung; Rockwell, Thomas K.; Lee, Seung Ryeol; Ryoo, Chung-Ryul; Choi, Hanwoo; Lee, Tae-Ho | Korea Inst Geosci & Mineral Resources, Geol Div, 124 Gwahak Ro, Daejeon 34132, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Earth Syst Sci, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kangwon Natl Univ, Dept Geol, Chunchon 24341, South Korea; San Diego State Univ, Dept Geol Sci, San Diego, CA 92182 USA | ; Rockwell, Thomas/NEU-5799-2025; Lee, Tae-Ho/JMB-2371-2023; LEE, HOIL/LJM-1919-2024 | 55357928100; 55511963900; 57218556086; 57204418236; 57218556582; 57204434749; 57204264180; 7601419911; 36895664500; 7404339254; 55656060100 | thlee80@kigam.re.kr; | QUATERNARY INTERNATIONAL | QUATERN INT | 1040-6182 | 1873-4553 | 553 | SCIE | GEOGRAPHY, PHYSICAL;GEOSCIENCES, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2020 | 2.13 | 62.8 | 2.23 | 2025-06-25 | 42 | 40 | Yangsan fault; Late quaternary; Paleo-earthquake; OSL age; Transpression | 2016 GYEONGJU; COSEISMIC REACTIVATION; RUPTURE PROCESSES; SINGLE; QUARTZ; PALEOSEISMOLOGY; PROTOCOL; STRESS; SHEAR; PART | Late quaternary; OSL age; Paleo-earthquake; Transpression; Yangsan fault | South Korea; earthquake event; faulting; intraplate process; luminescence dating; paleoseismicity; Quaternary; recurrence interval; transpression | English | 2020 | 2020-07-10 | 10.1016/j.quaint.2020.07.025 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Measurement of activation cross-sections of ⁿatDy(p,x) reactions up to 45 MeV | We activated Dy-nat with a 45-MeV energetic proton beam and studied the production cross-sections of the Ho-162m(,)161(,)159, Dy-159(,)15(7,)155, and Tb-161(,)160(,)156(,)155. The activation was carried out using an external beam from the MC-50 Cyclotron at the Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences, Korea. The stacked-foil activation method and off-line gamma-ray spectrometry were used to measure the excitation functions of the Dy-nat(p,x) reactions. The thick target yields of the reaction products were also estimated. The excitation functions of the Dy-nat(p,x) reactions were theoretically calculated using TALYS 1.9 code. The measured results were compared with the literature data and the calculated values from the TENDL-2017 library and were found to be in close agreement for most of the reactions. | Shahid, Muhammad; Kim, Kwangsoo; Naik, Haladhara; Kim, Guinyun | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Phys, Daegu 702701, South Korea; Bhabha Atom Res Ctr, Radiochem Div, Mumbai 400085, Maharashtra, India | Shahid, Muhammad/AAE-9424-2020 | 57220603664; 36137214700; 7005890232; 35313854400 | gnkim@knu.ac.kr; | NUCLEAR INSTRUMENTS & METHODS IN PHYSICS RESEARCH SECTION B-BEAM INTERACTIONS WITH MATERIALS AND ATOMS | NUCL INSTRUM METH B | 0168-583X | 1872-9584 | 464 | SCIE | INSTRUMENTS & INSTRUMENTATION;NUCLEAR SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY;PHYSICS, ATOMIC, MOLECULAR & CHEMICAL;PHYSICS, NUCLEAR | 2020 | 1.377 | 63.2 | 0.17 | 2025-06-25 | 5 | 5 | p + Dy-nat process; 45-MeV proton beam; Stacked-foil activation; Off-line gamma-ray spectrometric technique; Excitation functions; Thick target yields | INDUCED NUCLEAR-REACTIONS; PROTON-INDUCED REACTIONS; LONGER-LIVED PRODUCTS; EXCITATION-FUNCTIONS; DYSPROSIUM; RADIONUCLIDES; THERAPY; NAT | 45-MeV proton beam; Excitation functions; Off-line γ-ray spectrometric technique; p+natDy process; Stacked-foil activation; Thick target yields | English | 2020 | 2020-02-01 | 10.1016/j.nimb.2019.12.009 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||

| ○ | ○ | Article | EPR and Optical Properties of Green Emitting Mn Activated Sr2ZnSi2O7 Phosphors Prepared by Sol-Gel Method | A series of Mn2+ activated Sr2ZnSi2O7 phosphors with variable Mn2+ ions concentration were prepared via citrate sol-gel method. The systematic analysis of structure and luminescent properties were carried out by recording x-ray diffraction patterns, scanning electron micrographs, excitation and emission spectra along with electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra. The optimization of Mn2+ ion concentration in the synthesized phosphors was done by analyzing emission spectra. The Mn2+ activated Sr2ZnSi2O7 phosphors exhibit green emission under 263 nm excitation. The EPR spectra exhibit sextet hyperfine lines with resonance at g approximate to 2.0 indicating tetrahedral symmetry and covalent bonding between Mn2+ ions and O2- ligand ions bound to it. All the aforesaid results support the suitability of Mn2+ activated Sr2ZnSi2O7 phosphors as visible green emitters in optoelectronic display devices. | Singh, Vijay; Deopa, Nisha; Kaur, Sumandeep; Rao, A.
