| ○ | ○ | Article | Role of M2-like macrophages in the progression of ovarian cancer | In this study, we noninvasively assessed whether M2-like macrophages accelerate the progression of ovarian cancer by performing molecular imaging of ovarian cancer cells expressing enhanced firefly luciferase (Effluc) in living mice. First, murine ovarian cancer ID8 cells expressing Effluc (ID8/Effluc cells) were established by retroviral infection. Subsequently, macrophages were isolated from the peritoneal exudate of mice injected with thioglycollate medium and differentiated into M2-like macrophages by adding interleukin 4. To characterize these M2-like macrophages, F4/80 and cluster of differentiation 206 expression levels were determined. Then, the M2-like macrophages were co-cultured with the ID8/Effluc cells and bioluminescence imaging (BLI) of signals from the ID8/Effluc cells was completed. Additionally, migration and wound healing were assessed to evaluate the effects of conditioned medium (CM) from M2-like macrophages on ID8/Effluc cell motility. In the in vivo study, mice were first given either liposome-phosphate-buffered saline or liposome-clodronate (lipoclodronate). After 24 h, ID8/Effluc cells were intraperitoneally injected into the mice and BLI was completed at the designed time points. Next, histological analysis was conducted to characterize the infiltrated tumor. Flow cytometric analysis revealed high levels of CD206 expression in the differentiated M2-like macrophages. Meanwhile, ID8/Effluc cells co-cultured with these M2-like macrophages proliferated rapidly in an M2-like macrophage, number-dependent manner. The migration of the ID8/Effluc cells was also increased by the application of CM from M2-like macrophages. In vivo BLI revealed that the growth rate of intraperitoneally injected ovarian cancer cells was inhibited following macrophage depletion by treatment with lipo-clodronate. M2-like macrophages accelerated the progression of ovarian cancer, suggesting they are a new therapeutic target for ovarian cancer and that ovarian cancer could be managed by altering the nature of communication between ovarian cancer and macrophages. | Baek, Se Hwan; Lee, Ho Won; Gangadaran, Prakash; Oh, Ji Min; Zhu, Liya; Rajendran, Ramya Lakshmi; Lee, Jaetae; Ahn, Byeong-Cheol | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Nucl Med, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Biomed Sci, BK21 Plus KNU Biomed Convergence Program, Daegu, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Dept Nucl Med, Daegu, South Korea | ; Rajendran, Ramya/AAV-6338-2021; Gangadaran, Prakash/AAV-3102-2021 | 57194785139; 35337240700; 54393130400; 57190370462; 57190870383; 57195318729; 7601451907; 7202791511 | abc2000@knu.ac.kr; | EXPERIMENTAL CELL RESEARCH | EXP CELL RES | 0014-4827 | 1090-2422 | 395 | 2 | SCIE | CELL BIOLOGY;ONCOLOGY | 2020 | 3.905 | 55.6 | 0.66 | 2025-06-25 | 14 | 15 | M2-like macrophages; Liposome-clodronate; Ovarian cancer; Bisphosphonates; Molecular imaging | TUMOR-ASSOCIATED MACROPHAGES; CLODRONATE; POLARIZATION; DEPLETION; ASCITES; STAGE | Bisphosphonates; Liposome-clodronate; M2-like macrophages; Molecular imaging; Ovarian cancer | Animals; Carcinoma, Ovarian Epithelial; Cell Differentiation; Cell Line, Tumor; Cell Movement; Culture Media, Conditioned; Female; Genes, Reporter; Humans; Macrophages; Mice; Molecular Imaging; Ovarian Neoplasms; CD206 antigen; clodronic acid; firefly luciferase; interleukin 4; liposome; phosphate buffered saline; protein; protein F4 80; thioglycolic acid; unclassified drug; animal cell; animal experiment; animal model; animal tissue; Article; bioluminescence; cancer cell; cancer infiltration; cancer inhibition; carcinogenesis; cell differentiation; cell migration; cell motility; cell proliferation; coculture; controlled study; drug cytotoxicity; drug effect; female; flow cytometry; histopathology; ID8 cell line; in vivo study; macrophage; macrophage culture; macrophage function; molecular imaging; mouse; nonhuman; omentum; ovary cancer; peritoneum exudate; peritoneum metastasis; priority journal; protein expression; reporter gene; retrovirus infection; transwell assay; wound healing assay; animal; cell motion; conditioned medium; genetics; human; macrophage; metabolism; ovary tumor; pathology; physiology; procedures; tumor cell line | English | 2020 | 2020-10-15 | 10.1016/j.yexcr.2020.112211 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |

| ○ | ○ | Article | Effect of a sphingolipid-mimetic compound on the promotion of hair growth: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial | Background Pattern hair loss is a very common skin disorder, but more therapeutic modalities for hair growth are still required. Objective We investigated the effect of a newly synthesized sphingolipid-mimetic compound (pseudo-ceramide: bis-oleamide isopropyl alcohol [BOI]) on the promotion of hair growth for patients with mild pattern hair loss. Methods A total of 58 patients with mild pattern hair loss participated in this clinical trial. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted for 6 months. Participants in the experimental group applied 1% BOI lotion (ceramide HS) on the whole scalp once a day for 6 months. Participants in the control group applied simulacrum using the same protocol. We evaluated daily hair loss, hair density, hair thickness, and hair length at intervals of 3 months; patient satisfaction and adverse events were evaluated at 6 months. Results At 6 months in the experimental group, daily hair loss at baseline (52.52 +/- 33.98) decreased to 40.41 +/- 24.78, vertex hair density at baseline (131.07 +/- 43.73) increased to 156.00 +/- 39.59, frontal hair density at baseline (104.21 +/- 30.72) increased to 124.10 +/- 28.28, thickness of vertex hair at baseline (0.067 +/- 0.012 cm) increased to 0.075 +/- 0.014 cm, thickness of frontal hair at baseline (0.070 +/- 0.009 cm) increased to 0.076 +/- 0.012 cm, and hair growth rate was 16.17 +/- 1.89 mm/month. Conclusion Ceramide HS may be a new candidate for the treatment of pattern hair loss. | Lee, Weon Ju; Sohng, Chihyeon; Kim, Jun Young; Park, Kyung Duck; Jang, Yong Hyun; Lee, Seok-Jong | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Kyungpook Natl Univ Hosp, Sch Med, Dept Dermatol, Daegu, South Korea | ; Lee, Joong/A-5417-2013 | 24474659000; 57203820211; 35310922800; 55767995700; 57016046400; 56013454400 | weonju@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF COSMETIC DERMATOLOGY | J COSMET DERMATOL-US | 1473-2130 | 1473-2165 | 19 | 7 | SCIE | DERMATOLOGY | 2020 | 2.696 | 55.8 | 0.13 | 2025-06-25 | 4 | 4 | ceramide; hair; pattern hair loss; shampoo; sphingolipid | ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA; OPEN-LABEL; FINASTERIDE; MEN; REGROWTH | ceramide; hair; pattern hair loss; shampoo; sphingolipid | Alopecia; Double-Blind Method; Hair; Humans; Scalp; Sphingolipids; 2 propanol; bis oleamide isopropyl alcohol; ceramide derivative; ceramide HS; placebo; unclassified drug; sphingolipid; adult; Article; controlled study; cutaneous parameters; double blind procedure; drug safety; drug synthesis; female; hair density; hair growth; hair length; hair loss; hair thickness; human; major clinical study; male; patient satisfaction; priority journal; randomized controlled trial; treatment duration; treatment outcome; alopecia; hair; scalp | English | 2020 | 2020-07 | 10.1111/jocd.13220 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Randomized controlled double-blind study of a cleanser composed of 5-aminolevulinic acid and peptides on mild and moderate acne vulgaris | Background Existing treatments of acne vulgaris may be complicated or elicit undesirable side effects. Therefore, new and safe therapeutic modalities are needed. Objectives We investigated the effects of a cleanser with 5-aminolevulinic acid and peptides on mild to moderate acne vulgaris. Methods Sixty volunteers with mild to moderate acne vulgaris (IGA grade II-III) were randomly assigned to treatment or control groups of thirty respectively. Participants cleansed their faces twice a day for 8 weeks with either a cleanser with 5-aminolevulinic acid and peptides (treatment) or with basic cleanser (control). The number of acne lesions (comedones, papules, pustules, and nodules), Michaelson's acne severity, and IGA were measured every 2 weeks and patient satisfaction and adverse events at week 8. Results Mean number of inflammatory acne lesions in treatment group decreased from 5.9 at baseline to 4.5 at week 4 and 4.1 at week 8 (in particular, P < .05). The mean number of noninflammatory lesions in treatment group decreased from 11.4 at baseline to 8.8 at week 4 and 7.4 at week 8 (in particular, P < .05). The mean value of Michaelson's acne severity index and IGA in treatment group also decreased from baseline to week 4 and week 8 (both in particular, P < .05). Investigator's assessment and patient satisfaction in treatment group at week 8 were better than control group. Adverse events in two groups were similar. Conclusions We think the cleanser with 5-aminolevulinic acid and peptides is a useful and safe therapeutic agent for mild to moderate acne vulgaris. | Lee, Hyun Ji; Kim, Jun Young; Park, Kyung Duck; Lee, Weon Ju | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Dermatol, Daegu, South Korea | 57207758693; 35310922800; 55767995700; 24474659000 | weonju@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF COSMETIC DERMATOLOGY | J COSMET DERMATOL-US | 1473-2130 | 1473-2165 | 19 | 7 | SCIE | DERMATOLOGY | 2020 | 2.696 | 55.8 | 0.52 | 2025-06-25 | 5 | 7 | acne; aminolevulinic acid; cleanser; peptides | DAYLIGHT PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY; GHK | acne; aminolevulinic acid; cleanser; peptides | Acne Vulgaris; Aminolevulinic Acid; Double-Blind Method; Humans; Peptides; Severity of Illness Index; Treatment Outcome; aminolevulinic acid; dermatological agent; peptide derivative; aminolevulinic acid; peptide; acne vulgaris; adult; Article; clinical effectiveness; comedo; controlled study; disease severity; double blind procedure; female; human; major clinical study; male; papule; patient satisfaction; priority journal; pustule; randomized controlled trial; skin disease assessment; skin nodule; acne vulgaris; severity of illness index; treatment outcome | English | 2020 | 2020-07 | 10.1111/jocd.13232 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | A compact broadband GFET based rectenna for RF energy harvesting applications | In this paper, a compact GFET-based rectifier integrated with a monopole antenna is proposed for wireless energy harvesting applications. The GFET increases impedance bandwidth of the rectifying circuit, thus covering a range of 22.5-27.5 GHz. The sensing antenna is a triangular monopole with truncated corners for realizing circular polarization at the frequencies 24.25 GHz and 27 GHz. By the help of lambda/4 transformer, the sensing antenna is matched with the proposed GFET rectifier. The RF-DC conversion efficiency realized is 80% at 5 dBm for the load of 5 K omega, and the output DC voltage observed is 6.8 V. The modified ground plane triangular monopole antenna shows a peak gain of 7.8 dBi. The designed rectenna prototype is fabricated and found simulated and measured results are in good agreement. | Singh, Neeta; Kumar, Sachin; Kanaujia, Binod Kumar; Beg, Mirza Tariq; Mainuddin; Kumar, Sandeep | Jamia Millia Islamia, Dept Elect & Commun Engn, New Delhi 110025, India; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Jawaharlal Nehru Univ, Sch Computat & Integrat Sci, New Delhi 110067, India; Natl Inst Technol Karnataka, Dept Elect & Commun Engn, Mangalore 575025, India | Kumar, Sachin/W-2211-2019; Kanaujia, Binod/L-6484-2019; SINGH, NEETA/ABD-7528-2021; MAINUDDIN, MAINUDDIN/ABA-8702-2022; Mainuddin, Mainuddin/ABA-8702-2022; kumar, sandeep/Y-9041-2019; kanaujia, Binod/L-6484-2019 | 57202433135; 56907994000; 56962785800; 42261085500; 56490843400; 57220592126 | gupta.sachin0708@gmail.com; | MICROSYSTEM TECHNOLOGIES-MICRO-AND NANOSYSTEMS-INFORMATION STORAGE AND PROCESSING SYSTEMS | MICROSYST TECHNOL | 0946-7076 | 1432-1858 | 26 | 6 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;NANOSCIENCE & NANOTECHNOLOGY;PHYSICS, APPLIED | 2020 | 2.276 | 55.9 | 0.61 | 2025-06-25 | 9 | 13 | MULTIBAND RECTENNA; ANTENNA; DESIGN; ARRAY | Electric impedance; Electric rectifiers; Energy harvesting; Microwave antennas; Monopole antennas; Rectifying circuits; Slot antennas; Impedance bandwidths; Measured results; Modified ground plane; Output DC voltage; Peak gain; RF energy harvesting; Triangular monopoles; Wireless energy; Rectennas | English | 2020 | 2020-06 | 10.1007/s00542-019-04737-0 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Thermodynamic Analysis of Microchannel Heat Sink With Cylindrical Ribs and Cavities | Heat transfer improvement in microchannel heat sink (MCHS) has been a challenge, because it increases the power requirements for the fluid flow. In the present study, MCHS with different wall, geometric, and design configurations of cylindrical ribs and cavities are simulated to investigate their effect on thermal and hydrodynamic performance of MCHS using a laminar flow having Reynolds number in the range from 100 to 1000. The wall configurations include; base wall cylindrical ribs (BWCR), side wall cylindrical ribs (SWCR), and all wall cylindrical ribs (AWCR). Moreover, the geometric configurations involve different AWCR cases having rib spacings (S-fr) of 0.4 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.2 mm, and 0.4 mm staggered arrangement. Furthermore, the design configurations include; AWCR, all wall cylindrical cavities (AWCC), and all wall cylindrical ribs and cavities (AWCRC) with constant S-fr = 0.4 mm. The performance of various channels with flow disruptors is analyzed in terms of friction factor (f) and Nusselt number and then compared with smooth channel in terms of thermal enhancement factor (eta). Based on the first law of thermodynamics, thermal resistance (R-th) is used to investigate the resistance of any configuration to flow of heat comparing at same pumping power. Moreover, the second law of thermodynamics is applied to quantify the rate of entropy generation ((S) over dot(gen)) and transport efficiency (eta t) for MCHS. The results show that although the MCHS with all wall ribs has a lower value of eta than the base wall and side wall ribs; however, it has the maximum value of eta tand minimum value of R(th)and (S) over dot(gen) thus, indicating that eta is not the only performance criteria for the selection of MCHS. | Ahmad, Faraz; Cheema, Taqi Ahmad; Rehman, M. | ○ | ○ | Article | Examination of CVFEM for nanofluid free convection MHD flow through permeable medium | In current attempt, a numerical code was developed to model the nanofluid free convected magnetized flow by porous cavity. Non-Darcy formula is carried out to include the term of porosity in momentum expression. Radiative phenomenon is reported for distinct nanoparticle shapes. Aspects of radiative constraint, shape factor, Rayleigh number, magnetic force, and nanoparticles' shape on nanofluid magneto-hydrodynamic natural convection are analyzed. Result demonstrated that application of external magnetic force deteriorates the convection and this reduction is more perceptible at the greater permeability. The conductive heat transport is the dominating form of heat transportation under the impact of higher magnetic force. For the constant values of Rayleigh, Hartmann's and Darcy number, Nu(avg) is independent of shape factor and observes a direct association with the radiation parameter. | Shehzad, Sabir A.; Sheikholeslami, M.; Ambreen, T.; Shafee, Ahmad; Babazadeh, Houman | COMSATS Univ Islamabad, Dept Math, Sahiwal 57000, Pakistan; Babol Noshirvani Univ Technol, Dept Mech Engn, Babol, Iran; Babol Noshirvani Univ Technol, Renewable Energy Syst & Nanofluid Applicat Heat T, Babol, Iran; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Mech Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Duy Tan Univ, Inst Res & Dev, Da Nang 550000, Vietnam; Ton Duc Thang Univ, Dept Management Sci & Technol Dev, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Ton Duc Thang Univ, Fac Environm & Labour Safety, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | Shafee, A./ABF-2812-2020; Sheikholeslami, Mohsen/G-9034-2015; Babazadeh, H/ABF-3389-2020; Shehzad, Sabir/J-3885-2014 | 42262831200; 54880733100; 57195420431; 57202423343; 57211438972 | ali_qau70@yahoo.com;houman.babazadeh@tdtu.edu.vn; | APPLIED NANOSCIENCE | APPL NANOSCI | 2190-5509 | 2190-5517 | 10 | 8 | SCIE | NANOSCIENCE & NANOTECHNOLOGY | 2020 | 3.674 | 56.1 | 0.65 | 2025-06-25 | 7 | 9 | CVFEM; Heat transfer; Nanoparticle; Shape factor; Non-Darcy model | CONJUGATE NATURAL-CONVECTION; HEAT-TRANSFER; POROUS-MEDIA; MIXED CONVECTION; CAVITY; TEMPERATURE; ENCLOSURE; VELOCITY; SURFACE | CVFEM; Heat transfer; Nanoparticle; Non-Darcy model; Shape factor | Magnetohydrodynamics; Nanomagnetics; Nanoparticles; Natural convection; Conductive heat; Constant values; Heat transportation; Magnetic force; Nanoparticle shape; Porous cavities; Radiation parameters; Rayleigh number; Nanofluidics | English | 2020 | 2020-08 | 10.1007/s13204-020-01316-y | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article; Proceedings Paper | Heat transfer management of hybrid nanofluid including radiation and magnetic source terms within a porous domain | Natural convected aqueous-based MWCNT + Fe3O4 nanopowder through a permeable cavity employing Lorentz field impacts is illustrated in this work. CVFEM-based technique was developed to simulate the considered physical problem. The source of Darcy in the momentum equation is introduced by the implementation of non-Darcy theory. Further, the radiative heat transportation is analyzed. The thermal contours and flow streamlines elaborate the thermofluid features of nanofluid under variable strength of magnetic field and media permeability conditions. The mutual impact of radiation parameter, Rayleigh number, permeability, and magnetic force on Nu has also been analyzed. The outcomes revealed that the Hartmann number suppresses the natural convection and promotes conduction. Convection is the dominating mode when Ha is zero. As Ha increases from 0 to 60, 66% increment in psi can be reported when Ra = 10(5). With rise of Da from 0.01 to 100, psi(max) augments about 5.88% and 80% when Ha = 60 and 0, respectively. To achieve greater influence, Da, Ha should be reduced. In the highest level of Ra, Da and Ha = 0, Nu for Rd = 0.8 is 2.06 higher than that of Rd = 0. Nu declines about 11.97% with rise of Lorentz force when Da = 0.01. The impact of Da becomes more sensible when Lorentz force has been imposed. | Shehzad, S. | ○ | ○ | Article | Whispering gallery modes in triple microdisks of triangular configurations | We study whispering gallery modes in triple microdisks of equilateral and isosceles triangular configurations. The characteristic properties of resonant modes in three microdisks on the vertices of an equilateral triangle are explained by the discrete rotational symmetry of the triangle. The avoided crossings of resonant modes in three microdisks on the vertices of an isosceles triangle also are studied in terms of a combination of single and coupled microdisks. In addition, we propose matrix models that well explain the resonant modes in triple microdisks. | ○ | ○ | Article | Graph homomorphism reconfiguration and frozen H-colorings | For a fixed graph H, the reconfiguration problem for H-colorings (ie, homomorphisms to H) asks: given a graph G and two H-colorings phi and psi of G, does there exist a sequence f0, horizontal ellipsis ,fm of H-colorings such that f0=phi, fm=psi, and fi(u)fi+1(v)is an element of E(H) for every 0 <= i<m and uv is an element of E(G)? If the graph G is loop-free, then this is the equivalent to asking whether it possible to transform phi into psi by changing the color of one vertex at a time such that all intermediate mappings are H-colorings. In the affirmative, we say that phi reconfigures to psi. Currently, the complexity of deciding whether an H-coloring phi reconfigures to an H-coloring psi is only known when H is a clique, a circular clique, a C4-free graph, or in a few other cases which are easily derived from these. We show that this problem is PSPACE-complete when H is an odd wheel. An important notion in the study of reconfiguration problems for H-colorings is that of a frozen H-coloring; that is, an H-coloring phi such that phi does not reconfigure to any H-coloring psi such that psi not equal phi. We obtain an explicit dichotomy theorem for the problem of deciding whether a given graph G admits a frozen H-coloring. The hardness proof involves a reduction from a constraint satisfaction problem which is shown to be nondeterministic polynomial time NP-complete by establishing the nonexistence of a certain type of polymorphism. | Brewster, Richard C.; Lee, Jae-Baek; Moore, Benjamin; Noel, Jonathan A.; Siggers, Mark | Thompson Rivers Univ, Dept Math & Stat, Kamloops, BC, Canada; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Nat Sci, Daegu 702701, South Korea; Univ Waterloo, Dept Combinator & Optimizat, Waterloo, ON, Canada; Univ Warwick, Dept Comp Sci, Coventry, W Midlands, England; Univ Warwick, DIMAP, Coventry, W Midlands, England | Lee, Juhyung/JQV-8143-2023 | 7005644208; 57201389745; 57189522718; 36998759100; 14519683600 | mhsiggers@knu.ac.kr; | JOURNAL OF GRAPH THEORY | J GRAPH THEOR | 0364-9024 | 1097-0118 | 94 | 3 | SCIE | MATHEMATICS | 2020 | 0.857 | 56.2 | 0.75 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 3 | complexity; graph homomorphism; recoloring; reconfiguration | COMPLEXITY | complexity; graph homomorphism; recoloring; reconfiguration | Coloring; Constraint satisfaction problems; Polynomial approximation; Circular clique; complexity; Dichotomy theorem; Graph homomorphisms; Nondeterministic polynomial; Recoloring; reconfiguration; Reconfiguration problems; Graph theory | English | 2020 | 2020-07 | 10.1002/jgt.22530 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | A study of igneous rocks related to Zn-Pb mineralization in the Shinyemi and Gagok deposits of the Taebaeksan Basin, South Korea | The Shinyemi and Gagok deposits, located in the Taebaeksan Basin, South Korea, display Zn-Pb mineralization along a contact between Cretaceous granitoids and Cambrian-Ordovician carbonates of the Joseon Supergroup. The Shinyemi mine is one of the largest polymetallic skarn-type magnetite deposits in South Korea and comprises Fe and Fe-Mo-Zn skarns, and Zn-Cu-Pb replacement deposits. Both deposits yield similar Cretaceous mineralization ages, and granitoids associated with the two deposits displaying similar mineral textures and compositions, are highly evolved, and were emplaced at a shallow depth. They are classified as calc-alkaline, I-type granites (magnetite series) and were formed in a volcanic arc. Compositional variation is less in the Shinyemi granites and aplites (e.g., SiO2 = 74.4-76.6 wt% and 74.4-75.1 wt%, respectively) than in the Gagok granites and aplites (e.g., SiO2 = 65.6-68.0 wt% and 74.9-76.5 wt%, respectively). Furthermore, SiO2 vs K/Rb and SiO2 vs Rb/Sr diagrams indicate that the Shinyemi granitoids are more evolved than the Gagok granitoids. Shinyemi granitoids had been already differentiated highly in deep depth and then intruded into shallow depth, so both granite and aplite show the highly evolved similar chemical compositions. Whereas, less differentiated Gagok granitoids were separated into two phases in the last stage at shallow depth, so granite and aplite show different compositions. The amounts of granites and aplite are similar in the Shinyemi deposit, whereas the aplite appears in an amount less than the granite in the Gagok deposit. For this reason, the Shinyemi granitoids caused not only Fe enrichment during formation of the dolomite-hosted magnesian skarn but also was associated with Mo mineralization in the Shinyemi deposit. Zn mineralization of the Gagok deposit was mainly caused by granite rather than aplite. Our data suggest that the variation in mineralization displayed by the two deposits resulted from differences in the compositions of their associated igneous intrusions. | Seo, Jieun; Choi, Seon-Gyu Z.; Koo, Minho; Oh, Chang Whan; Ryu, In-Chang; Lee, Gilljae | Korea Univ, Dept Earth & Environm Sci, Seoul 02841, South Korea; Korea Resources Corp, Wonju, South Korea; Chonbuk Natl Univ, Dept Earth & Environm Sci, Jeonju, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Geol, Daegu, South Korea; Korea Inst Geosci & Mineral Resources, DMR Convergence Res Ctr, Daejeon, South Korea | 15036859700; 7408120561; 57195556441; 57218942220; 7006705952; 57201956676 | seongyu@korea.ac.kr; | RESOURCE GEOLOGY | RESOUR GEOL | 1344-1698 | 1751-3928 | 70 | 3 | SCIE | GEOLOGY;MINERALOGY | 2020 | 1.353 | 56.4 | 0.6 | 2025-06-25 | 7 | 6 | Gagok; Korea; productive igneous activity; Shinyemi; Taebaeksan; Zn-Pb mineralization | LACHLAN FOLD BELT; OREBODIES; REDOX | Gagok; Korea; productive igneous activity; Shinyemi; Taebaeksan; Zn–Pb mineralization | South Korea; Taebaeksan Basin; aplite; chemical composition; Cretaceous; granite; igneous intrusion; igneous rock; lead; mineralization; skarn; zinc | English | 2020 | 2020-07 | 10.1111/rge.12230 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Establishment of Withdrawal Period after Oral Administration of Lincomycin and Colistin Combination in Broiler Chicken | The combination of lincomycin and colistin is widely used in poultry either for the prevention and treatment of bacterial infection or as additive. However, the presence of antimicrobial residues in food of animal origin is considered as threat to human health. Therefore, this study determined the withdrawal time (WT) by analyzing the residual concentration in tissues to overcome this problem. A combination product of lincomycin and colistin was administered to chickens. Antibiotic residues in edible tissues at different time-intervals were quantified using ELISA and chromatographic methods, and WT was determined. Antibiotics residues were high in the liver and kidney but were lower than the MRL on day 1 and rapidly decreased from day 3. The WT in the kidney was calculated as 2.95 days and is rounded off to 3 days. This study suggested the withdrawal time of 3 days as a precautionary principle for public health. (C) 2019 PVJ. | ○ | ○ | Article | Topical Chemotherapy Using Cisplatin for Treatment of Malignant Melanoma in a Grey Horse | A 7-year-old grey horse was referred to Kyungpook National University Veterinary Teaching Hospital due to two slowly growing pigmented masses located on her tail. At presentation, about 2 cm in diameter round dome-shaped masses with firm consistency were visualized and palpated one on the dorsal tail root on Co5 and the other on ventral proximal tail, between Co6 and Co7 area. A fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy confirmed malignant melanoma. A series of four topical chemotherapy with 2-week intervals was conducted using cisplatin in water-sesame seed oil emulsion. The tumor sites appeared healed with no signs of recurrence of tumor 6 weeks after completion of the treatment. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a treatment of the malignant melanoma using cisplatin in a horse in Republic of Korea. (C) 2019 PVJ. | ○ | ○ | Article | A Real-Time Super-Resolution Method Based on Convolutional Neural Networks | The aim of single-image super-resolution is to recover a high-resolution image based on a low-resolution image. Deep convolutional neural networks have largely enhanced the reconstruction performance of image super-resolution. Since the input image is always bicubic-interpolated, the main weakness of deep convolutional neural networks is that they are time-consuming. Moreover, fast convolutional neural networks can perform real-time image super-resolution but are unable to achieve reliable performance. To address those drawbacks, we propose a real-time image super-resolution method with good reconstruction performance. We replace the default upsampling method (bicubic interpolation) with a pixel shuffling layer. Local and global residual connections are taken to guarantee better performance. As shown in Fig. 1, our proposed method is not only fast but also accurate. | Fu, Shipeng; Lu, Lu; Li, Hu; Li, Zhen; Wu, Wei; Paul, Anand; Jeon, Gwanggil; Yang, Xiaomin | Sichuan Univ, Coll Elect & Informat Engn, Chengdu 610064, Peoples R China; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Comp Sci & Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Xidian Univ, Sch Elect Engn, Xian 710071, Peoples R China; Incheon Natl Univ, Dept Embedded Syst Engn, Incheon 22012, South Korea | Li, Zhen/KDN-2236-2024; lu, lu/HGA-0894-2022; Paul, Anand/V-6724-2017 | 57211575490; 56734964600; 57200016251; 57202992643; 56386371900; 56650522400; 15022497800; 9237988500 | fushipeng970ig@mail.com;lulu19900303@126.com;1300288499@qq.com;zhenli0424@foxmail.com;wuwei@scu.edu.cn;anand@knu.ac.kr;gjeon@incheon.ac.kr;arielyang@scu.edu.cn; | CIRCUITS SYSTEMS AND SIGNAL PROCESSING | CIRC SYST SIGNAL PR | 0278-081X | 1531-5878 | 39 | 2 | SCIE | ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC | 2020 | 2.225 | 56.6 | 0.65 | 2025-06-25 | 10 | 9 | Real time; Super-resolution; Pixel shuffling | IMAGE SUPERRESOLUTION | Pixel shuffling; Real time; Super-resolution | Convolution; Deep neural networks; Image enhancement; Neural networks; Optical resolving power; Pixels; Bicubic interpolation; Convolutional neural network; High resolution image; Image super resolutions; Low resolution images; Real time; Super resolution; Superresolution methods; Image reconstruction | English | 2020 | 2020-02 | 10.1007/s00034-019-01283-y | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |
| ○ | ○ | Article | Effect of vertical effective and initial static shear stresses on the liquefaction resistance of sands in cyclic direct simple shear tests | To investigate the effect of the vertical effective and initial static shear stresses on cyclic resistance under cyclic loading with principal stress rotation, a series of cyclic direct simple shear tests were conducted on loose and dense Nakdong River sands. The results revealed that the increasing vertical effective stress (sigma(nu 0)') often decreased the cyclic resistance, and the decrease was more evident for a high initial static shear ratio (alpha = 0.2). The degree of reduction of the correction factor K-sigma predicted by recommended methods in practice mostly showed more conservative results than the measured K-sigma values in this study. Increasing the initial static shear stress decreased the cyclic resistance of the loose sand. For the dense sand, the cyclic resistance either increased or decreased, depending on the combined effect of the sigma(nu 0)' and alpha levels. The correction factor K-alpha decreased minimally to 0.689 for the loose sand and rose maximally to 1.175 for the dense sand. When the relative density (D-r) increased from 40% to 80%, the increase in the cyclic resistance for a high alpha (=0.2) was considerably greater than that for alpha = 0. The cyclic response of the loose sand was due to sudden flow deformation without any apparent shear strain accumulation, regardless of the a value; while the cyclic response of the dense sand indicated plastic strain accumulation. Thus, the cyclic resistance of sand is influenced by the combined effect of D-r, sigma(nu 0)' and alpha, with the potential influence of principal stress rotation.
