| ○ | ○ | Article | Asymmetric Spray Characteristics According to Y-Jet Nozzle Orifice Shape and Spray Conditions | The Y-jet nozzle is a twin-fluid nozzle that has a larger operating range and simpler structure than other twin-fluid nozzles. Furthermore, it offers outstanding atomization quality even at low flow rates, mak ing it simple to atomize viscous liquids. However, because of the structure of the Y-jet nozzle, having an asymmetrical spray pattern is limited. Most existing experimental studies focused on the orifice diameter and mixing tube length. In this study, two types of elliptical nozzles and one type of circular nozzle were tested. We found that the elliptical nozzle's asymmetric spray characteristics are different from those of the circular type. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that the spray characteristics were different even in ellipsoids, with only the major and minor axes differing. | Lee, Sang Ji; Kim, Ji Yeop; Hong, Jung Goo | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Mech Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 57221453424; 57222525959; 24576652200 | jghong70@knu.ac.kr; | ACS OMEGA | ACS OMEGA | 2470-1343 | 8 | 16 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 0.41 | 2025-06-25 | 4 | 4 | OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS; ATOMIZATION; PERFORMANCE | English | 2023 | 2023-04-25 | 10.1021/acsomega.3c00016 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Asymmetric Synthesis of Four Stereoisomers of 2,2-Dimethyl-3-hydroxy-4-(1'-angeloyloxy)-6-acetylchromane from Ageratina grandifolia and Plausible Absolute Stereochemistry of the Natural Product | 2,2-Dimethyl-3-hydroxy-4-(1'-angeloyloxy)-6-acetylchromane is a natural product isolated from Ageratina grandifolia that exhibits inhibitory activity against yeast a-glucosidase. Initially, its structure was proposed to be 4-hydroxy-3-((S)-1'-angeloyloxy(R)-2',3'-epoxy-3'-methyl)butylacetophenone with an epoxide, but the structure was later revised to 2,2-dimethyl-3R-hydroxy-4S-(1angeloyloxy)-6-acetylchromane. In this study, we present a total synthesis of 2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxy-4-( 1'-angeloyloxy)-6-acetylchromane from A. gradifolia and its stereoisomers. The key features of their synthesis include Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation of a readily available benzopyran substrate and subsequent Mitsunobu or Steglich reaction to provide both cis- and trans-isomers with chiral control. The absolute stereochemistry of the natural product was determined to be 2,2-dimethyl-3S-hydroxy-4R-(1'-angeloyloxy)-6-acetylchromane based on optical rotations of the synthesized compounds. The absolute configuration of the synthesized stereoisomers was confirmed by Mosher ester analysis. In addition, we provided ECD spectra for the four stereoisomers, which will allow verification of the absolute configuration of the natural product. Synthesis of all four stereoisomers of 2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxy-4-(1'-angeloyloxy)-6-acetylchromane would facilitate the exploration of their potential biomedical applications. | Oh, Changmin; Im, Ji Hyeon; Bae, Munhyung; Jung, Jong-Wha | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Pharm, Res Inst Pharmaceut Sci, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Vessel Organ Interact Res Ctr, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Seoul Natl Univ, Nat Prod Res Inst, Coll Pharm, Seoul 08826, South Korea; Gachon Univ, Coll Pharm, Incheon 21936, South Korea | 58665396400; 57554359100; 57221476934; 26032128600 | jungj@knu.ac.kr; | ACS OMEGA | ACS OMEGA | 2470-1343 | 8 | 40 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 0.1 | 2025-06-25 | 1 | 1 | DIHYDROXYLATION; MITSUNOBU | English | 2023 | 2023-09-26 | 10.1021/acsomega.3c05349 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Complex-Shape Solid-State Photonic Droplets Prepared via Phase Separation and Microfluidics | Complex-shape solid-state cholesteric liquid crystal (CLCsolid) droplets were prepared via solvent removal, phase separation, and photopolymerization of uniformly sized reactive CLC (rCLC)/fluorocarbon oil (FCO)/dichloromethane (solvent) droplets produced via a microfluidic method. The interfacial energies between rCLC and FCO, rCLC and water, and FCO and water of a rCLC/FCO droplet in an aqueous solution were precisely controlled through the specified surfactants. The shape of the rCLC/FCO droplet was strongly dependent on the balances among these interfacial energies, enabling the preparation of complex-shape droplets through the controlled concentration of the used surfactants. The complex-shape rCLC/FCO droplets showed photonic patterns consisting of a central reflection from a convex surface, cross-communication from a convex surface between adjacent particles, a photonic reflection band from the outer upward-facing concave surface, and total internal reflection from the inner upward-facing surface. Complex-shape CLCsolid particles obtained after photopolymerization and extraction of a nonreactive chiral dopant and FCO showed photonic patterns similar to those before photopolymerization without much deterioration of the photonic structure. These complex patterns make CLCsolid and rCLC/FCO droplets promising anticounterfeiting materials. | Kim, Ye-Ri; Wi, Na-Ra; Park, Soo-Young | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Appl Chem Engn, Polymer Nano Mat Lab, Daegu 41566, South Korea | park, soo-young/N-3170-2017; Kim, Ji-Youn/A-5779-2017 | 58769870600; 58770310600; 57194041850 | psy@knu.ac.kr; | LANGMUIR | LANGMUIR | 0743-7463 | 1520-5827 | 39 | 50 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;CHEMISTRY, PHYSICAL;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 0.24 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | HYDROGEL DROPLETS; CRYSTAL; REFLECTION | Deterioration; Drops; Facings; Interfacial energy; Microfluidics; Phase separation; Refractive index; Surface active agents; dichloromethane; fluorocarbon; oil; solvent; surfactant; water; Cholesteric liquid-crystal; Complex shapes; Concave surface; Convex surfaces; Fluorocarbon oil; Microfluidic method; Oil droplets; Photo polymerization; Reflection bands; Solvent removal; aqueous solution; article; controlled study; liquid crystal; microfluidics; pharmaceutics; phase separation; solid state; Photopolymerization | English | 2023 | 2023-12-11 | 10.1021/acs.langmuir.3c02975 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Enhanced Bleachability of Chemi-Thermomechanical Pulp by Hydrogen Peroxide Bleaching in Ethanol-Water Media | Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) bleaching in ethanol-water media was used to improve the bleaching efficiency of the chemi-thermomechanical pulp (CTMP). The brightness of CTMP increased and the yellowness decreased when the ethanol ratio was increased to 50%. However, when more than 50% ethanol was added, the brightness decreased, and the yellowness increased. In general, H2O2 bleaching in ethanol-water media, except for 100% ethanol, improved the optical properties of CTMP compared to conventional H2O2 bleaching. Moreover, the chemical composition of CTMP did not alter significantly. The best bleaching condition for CTMP was observed in 50% ethanol at a bleaching temperature and time of 80 degrees C and 120 min, respectively. The brightness of CTMP under this condition increased by approximately 22% compared with conventional H2O2 bleached CTMP. Principal component analysis (PCA) revealed that the optical properties of bleached CTMP were affected by the structural changes of the aromatic ring and carbonyl group in lignin and carbonyl group in hemicellulose. Consequently, the specific optimal ratio of ethanol that could improve the optical properties of CTMP was determined. The results can serve as a reference for fabricating improved CTMP for its practical application in high-grade papermaking. | Seo, Jin-Ho; Oh, Yu-jin; Hwang, Kyojung; Gwon, Jaegyoung; Ahn, Byeong-Jun; Kim, Kang-Jae; Lee, Tai-Ju | Natl Inst Forest Sci, Dept Forest Prod & Ind, Div Forest Ind Mat, Seoul 02455, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sci & Landscape Architecture & Agr Sci & Technol R, Sch Forestry, Wood Sci & Technol, Daegu, South Korea | Kim, Kang-Jae/K-3915-2019; Lee, Tai-ju/KPA-1930-2024; Gwon, Jaegyoung/JYP-1858-2024 | 57874579500; 57874586100; 57127476000; 35344767200; 57874586200; 35733947500; 56399577200 | jaeya0624@knu.ac.kr;leetj@korea.kr; | BIORESOURCES | BIORESOURCES | 1930-2126 | 18 | 1 | SCIE | MATERIALS SCIENCE, PAPER & WOOD | 2023 | 1.3 | 37.0 | 0.31 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 3 | Ethanol; Hydrogen peroxide; Thermomechanicalpulp; Optical properties; Principal component analysis | LIGNIN; OXIDATION; CARBONYL | Ethanol; Hydrogen peroxide; Optical properties; Principal component analysis; Thermomechanical pulp | Bleachability; Bleaching; Carbonyl Groups; Cleaning; Hydrogen Peroxide; Oxidation; Bleaching; Cleaning; Hydrogen peroxide; Luminance; Oxidation; Principal component analysis; Bleachability; Bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulps; Bleaching efficiency; Carbonyl groups; Chemical compositions; Chemithermomechanical pulps; Ethanol-water; Hydrogen peroxide bleaching; Principal-component analysis; Water media; Ethanol | English | 2023 | 2023-02 | 10.15376/biores.18.1.1731-1741 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||
| ○ | Article | Experimental Investigation of Electrospraying Properties Based on Ring Electrode Modification | Electrospraying uses a high-voltage potential difference to create fine droplets. This study conducts a comparative analysis of the spray pattern and droplet properties using ring electrode parameters. The spray pattern and droplet characteristics are analyzed based on the experimental parameters of the ring electrode. The results show that the cone-jet mode forms quickly for the ring electrode. In addition, as the ring diameter decreases, the ring voltage increases and an increase in the distance between the ring and the nozzle in the bottom direction decreases the Sauter mean diameter and its standard deviation. The optimal conditions for the formation of fine and uniform droplets include a ring diameter of 15 mm, a ring voltage of 7 kV, and a nozzle-to-ring distance of (+) 20 mm. | Kim, Ji Yeop; Lee, Sang Ji; Lee, Mun Hee; Hong, Jung Goo | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Mech Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | jghong70@knu.ac.kr; | ACS OMEGA | ACS OMEGA | 2470-1343 | 9 | 1 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 1 | SPRAY-DRYING TECHNOLOGY; DRUG-DELIVERY; MASS-SPECTROMETRY; NANOPARTICLES; DEHYDRATION; IONIZATION; FABRICATION; VEGETABLES | English | 2023 | 2023-12-28 | 10.1021/acsomega.3c07402 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | ||||||||||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | High-Quantum-Yield Ultrasmall Ln2O3 (Ln = Eu, Tb, or Dy) Nanoparticle Colloids in Aqueous Media Obtained via Photosensitization | Fluorescent nanoparticles used in biomedical applications should be stable in their colloidal form in aqueous media and possess a high quantum yield (QY). We report ultrasmall Ln2O3 (Ln = Eu, Tb, or Dy) nanoparticle colloids with high QYs in aqueous media. The nanoparticles are grafted with hydrophilic and biocompatible poly-(acrylic acid) (PAA) to ensure colloidal stability and biocompatibility and with organic photosensitizer 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (PDA) for achieving a high QY. The PAA/PDA-Ln(2)O(3) nanoparticle colloids were nearly monodispersed and ultrasmall (particle diameter: similar to 2 nm). They exhibited excellent colloidal stability with no precipitation after synthesis (>1.5 years) in aqueous media, very low cellular toxicity, and very high absolute QYs of 87.6, 73.6, and 2.8% for Ln = Eu, Tb, and Dy, respectively. These QYs are the highest reported so far for lanthanides in aqueous media. Therefore, the results suggest their high potential as sensitive optical or imaging probes in biomedical applications. | Tegafaw, Tirusew; Liu, Ying; Ho, Son Long; Liu, Shuwen; Ahmad, Mohammad Yaseen; Al Saidi, Abdullah Khamis Ali; Zhao, Dejun; Ahn, Dabin; Nam, Hyunji; Chae, Weon-Sik; Nam, Sung-Wook; Chang, Yongmin; Lee, Gang Ho | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Coll Nat Sci, Dept Chem, Taegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Div Biomed Sci, Taegu 41944, South Korea; Korea Basic Sci Inst, Daegu Ctr, Taegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Sch Med, Dept Mol Med, Taegu 41405, South Korea | Liu, Shuwen/ABD-5719-2021; Ahmad, Mohammad/AAH-2164-2020; Ho, Son Long/P-3183-2015; Nam, Sung-Wook/V-5519-2019 | 55983618600; 57221731093; 55659242700; 57208926248; 57203054570; 57217492867; 57222567792; 58679951200; 58679951300; 7003277427; 16167127700; 7501840633; 7404851841 | ychang@knu.ac.kr;ghlee@mail.knu.ac.kr; | LANGMUIR | LANGMUIR | 0743-7463 | 1520-5827 | 39 | 43 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY;CHEMISTRY, PHYSICAL;MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 0.6 | 2025-06-25 | 6 | 5 | SIZED CDSE NANOCRYSTALS; LUMINESCENCE; PHOTOLUMINESCENCE; COMPLEXES; SPECTROSCOPY; PROBES | Biocompatibility; Medical applications; Nanoparticles; Photosensitizers; Sols; Aqueous media; Biomedical applications; Colloidal Stability; Fluorescent nanoparticles; Hydrophilics; Nanoparticle colloids; Photosensitisation; Poly(acrylic acid); Pyridinedicarboxylic acids; Ultra-small; Quantum yield | English | 2023 | 2023-10-19 | 10.1021/acs.langmuir.3c02229 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Impact of Surface Charge-Tailored Gold Nanorods for Selective Targeting of Mitochondria in Breast Cancer Cells Using Photodynamic Therapy | Herein, the impact of surface charge tailored of gold nanorods (GNRs) on breast cancer cells (MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231) upon conjugation with triphenylphosphonium (TPP) for improved photodynamic therapy (PDT) targeting mitochondria was studied. The salient features of the study are as follows: (i) positive (CTAB@GNRs) and negative (PSS-CTAB@GNRs) surface-charged gold nanorods were developed and characterized; (ii) the mitochondrial targeting efficiency of gold nanorods was improved by conjugating TPP molecules; (iii) the conjugated nanoprobes (TPP-CTAB@GNRs and TPP-PSS-CTAB@GNRs) were evaluated for PDT in the presence of photosensitizer (PS), 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) in breast cancer cells; (iv) both nanoprobes (TPP-CTAB@GNRs and TPP-PSS-CTAB@GNRs) induce apoptosis, damage DNA, generate reactive oxygen species, and decrease mitochondrial membrane potential upon 5-ALA-based PDT; and (v) 5-ALA-PDT of two nanoprobes (TPP-CTAB@GNRs and TPP-PSS-CTAB@GNRs) impact cell signaling (PI3K/AKT) pathway by upregulating proapoptotic genes and proteins. Based on the results, we confirm that the positively charged (rapid) nanoprobes are more advantageous than their negatively (slow) charged nanoprobes. However, depending on the kind and degree of cancer, both nanoprobes can serve as efficient agents for delivering anticancer therapy. | Vinita, Nadar Manimaran; Devan, Umapathy; Durgadevi, Sabapathi; Anitha, Selvaraj; Govarthanan, Muthusamy; Velanganni, Arockiam Antony Joseph; Jeyakanthan, Jeyaraman; Prakash, Pitchan Arul; Jaabir, Mohamed Sultan; Kumar, Ponnuchamy | Alagappa Univ, Dept Anim Hlth & Management, Food Chem & Mol Canc Biol Lab, Karaikkudi 630003, Tamil Nadu, India; Bharathidasan Univ, Mol Gerontol Lab, Dept Biochem, Tiruchirappalli 620024, Tamil Nadu, India; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Environm Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Saveetha Inst Med & Tech Sci, Saveetha Dent Coll & Hosp, Dept Biomat, Chennai 600077, Tamil Nadu, India; Alagappa Univ, Dept Bioinformat, Karaikkudi 630003, Tamil Nadu, India; Natl Coll, PG & Res Dept Biotechnol & Microbiol, Tiruchirappalli 620001, Tamil Nadu, India | Ponnuchamy, Kumar/D-3470-2013; Muthusamy, Govarthanan/C-1491-2014; S, Anitha/AAL-5756-2020 | 57211994283; 57209471851; 57209773271; 57957509000; 54881927600; 57219711804; 8885182100; 57216980732; 35774748100; 55173720800 | kumarp@alagappauniversity.ac.in; | ACS OMEGA | ACS OMEGA | 2470-1343 | 8 | 37 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 0.31 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 3 | PI3K/AKT SIGNALING PATHWAY; DRUG-DELIVERY; DNA-DAMAGE; NANOPARTICLES; DOXORUBICIN; CHEMISTRY; APOPTOSIS; PHOSPHATIDYLSERINE; FUNCTIONALIZATION; FABRICATION | English | 2023 | 2023-09-04 | 10.1021/acsomega.2c06731 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Mechanically Enhanced Soft Contact Lenses from Photodimerization Cross-Linking | In this study, we synthesized three novel acrylic monomers with a cinnamate group. We then mixed each monomer with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) to prepare soft contact lenses through bulk polymerization. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and UV spectral analyses confirmed that the cinnamate group in the polymer undergoes a photodimerization reaction via UV irradiation. After UV curing, the present lenses stably maintained their shapes even in a water-swollen state and showed significantly improved mechanical properties compared to conventional lenses manufactured using a cross-linking agent. These lenses showed slightly lower water contact angles than the conventional lenses, although the water content was slightly reduced. The present photodimerization cross-linking method was found to be useful in reducing the tearability of soft lenses. | Yeo, Heung-Gi; Noh, Jin-Hee; Lee, Jineun; Kim, Hyojin; Kwak, Giseop | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Polymer Nanomat Lab, Dept Polymer Sci & Engn, Deagu 702701, South Korea; Daegu Technopark, Adv Mat & Components Ctr, Ind Innovat Div, Daegu 42716, South Korea | , Giseop/M-8370-2018 | 58631177600; 58619645100; 57226333374; 57202516002; 17137322300 | kimhj@dgtp.or.kr;gkwak@knu.ac.kr; | ACS OMEGA | ACS OMEGA | 2470-1343 | 8 | 37 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 0.21 | 2025-06-25 | 2 | 2 | POLYMERS | English | 2023 | 2023-09-08 | 10.1021/acsomega.3c04489 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Recyclable Magnetic Cu-MOF-74-Catalyzed C(sp²)-N Coupling and Cyclization under Microwave Irradiation: Synthesis of Imidazo[1,2-c]quinazolines and Their Analogues | Magnetic Cu-MOF-74 (Fe3O4@SiO2@Cu-MOF-74) was synthesized for the first time by grafting MOF-74 (copper as the metal center) on the surface of core-shell magnetic carboxyl-functionalized silica gel (Fe3O4@SiO2-COOH), which was prepared by coating core Fe3O4 nanoparticles with hydrolyzed 2-(3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl)succinic anhydride and tetraethyl orthosilicate. The structure of Fe3O4@SiO2@Cu-MOF-74 nanoparticles was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The prepared Fe3O4@SiO2@Cu-MOF-74 nanoparticles could be applied as a recyclable catalyst to the synthesis of N-fused hybrid scaffolds. 2-(2-Bromoaryl)imidazoles and 2-(2-bromovinyl)imidazoles were coupled and cyclized with cyanamide in DMF in the presence of a catalytic amount of Fe3O4@SiO2@Cu-MOF-74 along with a base to give imidazo[1,2c]quinazolines and imidazo[1,2-c]pyrimidines, respectively, in good yields. The Fe3O4@SiO2@Cu-MOF-74 catalyst could be easily recovered by a super magnetic bar and recycled more than four times while almost maintaining catalytic activity. | Lee, Seong Weon; Dao, Pham Duy Quang; Lim, Ho-Jin; Cho, Chan Sik | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Appl Chem, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Environm Engn, Daegu 41566, South Korea | Dao, P. | ○ | ○ | Article | Substituent Effects of Fluorescein on Photoredox Initiating Performance under Visible Light | We demonstrated the effects of substituents in fluorescein on the photoredox catalytic performance under visible light. For the systematic investigation, the phenyl ring of fluorescein was substituted with six different functional groups (i.e., amine, amide, isothiocyanate, aminomethyl, bromo, or nitro group) at the 5- or 6-position. The fluorescein derivatives were carefully characterized through photophysical and electrochemical analyses. The substituent effects were estimated by comparing the photopolymerization of poly-(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) and N-vinylpyrrolidone (VP) in the presence of triethanolamine (TEOA) under aerobic conditions to that of intact fluorescein. As a result, the amine and nitro groups exhibited the lowest performances, presumably due to intramolecular photoinduced electron transfer (PET) promoted by the strong electron push-pull effect. The others, representative moderate or weak deactivators and activators, exhibited inferior performances than intact fluorescein, presumably owing to the more negative Delta G PET values, resulting in a decreased rate of intermolecular PET. These results are crucial for understanding the structure-performance relationship and the development of visible-light photoredox catalysts with improved performance and functionality. | Choi, Won Oh; Jung, Young Jae; Kim, Minyoung; Kim, Hoyun; Li, Jingjing; Ko, Hyebin; Lee, Hong-In; Lee, Hye Jin; Lee, Jungkyu K. | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Chem, Daegu 41566, South Korea | LEE, HYEJIN/W-1345-2018; Lee, Hong-In/IXN-3185-2023 | 57760569800; 57211604984; 57223366791; 58696576300; 57222707218; 57444872900; 8509535000; 56569175200; 8312040000 | leehi@knu.ac.kr;hyejinlee@knu.ac.kr;jkl@knu.ac.kr; | ACS OMEGA | ACS OMEGA | 2470-1343 | 8 | 43 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 0.62 | 2025-06-25 | 6 | 6 | POLYMERIZATION REACTIONS; QUANTUM YIELD; DESIGN; DERIVATIVES; GENERATION; OXIDATION; OXYGEN; OXIDE; IONS | English | 2023 | 2023-10-18 | 10.1021/acsomega.3c04324 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||
| ○ | Article | Synthesis and Characterization of Zinc(II), Cadmium(II), and Palladium(II) Complexes with the Thiophene-Derived Schiff Base Ligand | Zn(II), Pd(II), and Cd(II) complexes, [LTHMCl2] (M = Zn, Pd; X = Br, Cl) and [LTHCd(μ-X)X]n (X = Cl, Br; n = n, 2), supported by the (E)-N1,N1-dimethyl-N2-(thiophen-2-ylmethylene)ethane-1,2-diamine (LTH) ligand are synthesized and structurally characterized. Density functional theory (DFT) electronic structure calculations and variable-temperature NMR support the presence of two conformers and a dynamic interconversion process of the minor conformer to the major one in solution. It is found that the existence of two relevant complex conformers and their respective ratios in solution depend on the central metal ions and counter ions, either Cl- or Br-. Among the two relevant conformers, a single conformer is crystallized and X-ray diffraction analysis revealed a distorted tetrahedral geometry for Zn(II) complexes, and a distorted square planar and square pyramidal geometry for Pd(II) and Cd(II) complexes, respectively. It is shown that [LTHMCl2]/LiOiPr (M = Zn, Pd) and [LTHCd(μ-Cl)Cl]n/LiOiPr can effectively catalyze the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) reaction of rac-lactide (rac-LA) with 94% conversion within 30 s with [LTHZnCl2]/LiOiPr at 0 °C. Overall, hetero-enriched poly(lactic acid)s (PLAs) were provided by these catalytic systems with [LTHZnCl2]/LiOiPr producing PLA with higher heterotactic bias (Pr up to 0.74 at 0 °C). © 2023 The Authors. | ○ | ○ | Article | Thiophene-Derived Schiff Base Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization, Antimicrobial Properties, and Molecular Docking | Novel thiophene-derivedSchiff base ligand DE, where DE is (E)-N (1),N (1)-diethyl-N (2)-(thiophen-2-ylmethylene)-ethane-1,2-diamine,and the corresponding M-(II) complexes, [M-(DE)-X-2] (M = Cu or Zn, X = Cl; M = Cd, X = Br), were prepared and structurallycharacterized. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the geometryaround the center of the M-(II) complexes, [Zn-(DE)-Cl-2] and [Cd-(DE)-Br-2], could be best describedas a distorted tetrahedral. In vitro antimicrobialscreening of DE and its corresponding M-(II) complexes, [M-(DE)-X-2], was performed. The complexes were morepotent and showed higher activities against Escherichiacoli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, fungi Candida albicans, and protozoa Leishmaniamajor compared to the ligand. Among the studied complexes, [Cd-(DE)-Br-2] exhibited the most promising antimicrobialactivity against all the tested microbes compared to its analogs. These results were further supported by molecular docking studies. We believe that these complexes may significantly contribute to theefficient designing of metal-derived agents to treat microbial infections. | Nayab, Saira; Alam, Aftab; Ahmad, Nasir; Khan, Sher Wali; Khan, Waliullah; Shams, Dilawar Farhan; Shah, Muhammad Ishaq Ali; Ateeq, Muhammad; Shah, Said Karim; Lee, Hyosun | Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Univ SBBU, Dept Chem, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 18050, Sheringal Upper, Pakistan; Univ Peshawar, Islamia Coll, Dept Chem, Peshawar 25000, Khyber Pakhtunk, Pakistan; Abdul Wali Khan Univ, Dept Chem, Mardan 23200, Pakistan; Abdul Wali Khan Univ, Dept Environm Sci, Mardan 23200, Pakistan; Abdul Wali Khan Univ, Dept Phys, Mardan 23200, Pakistan; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Chem, 80 Daehakro, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Green Nano Mat Res Ctr, 80 Daehakro, Daegu 41566, South Korea | ; Shah, Said Karim/AAC-4343-2020; ALAM, AFTAB/KBB-9870-2024; Khan, Waliullah/HJI-5562-2023; Ateeq, Muhammad/GWM-6878-2022; Shams, Dilawar Farhan/GVT-4249-2022; Nayab, Saira/JBS-3013-2023 | 36490286400; 59820887800; 59532433600; 55509048900; 57201908089; 56957066900; 57201184540; 55315903200; 50661929900; 15750846000 | drnayab@sbbu.edu.pk;hyosunlee@knu.ac.kr; | ACS OMEGA | ACS OMEGA | 2470-1343 | 8 | 20 | SCIE | CHEMISTRY, MULTIDISCIPLINARY | 2023 | 3.7 | 37.0 | 2.37 | 2025-06-25 | 23 | 24 | TRANSITION-METAL-COMPLEXES; TRYPANOTHIONE REDUCTASE; STRUCTURAL-CHARACTERIZATION; DIHYDROFOLATE-REDUCTASE; CADMIUM(II) COMPLEXES; CHEMISTRY SYNTHESIS; ZN(II) COMPLEXES; ANTIBACTERIAL; ZINC(II); LIGANDS | English | 2023 | 2023-05-12 | 10.1021/acsomega.2c08266 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||||
| ○ | ○ | Article | 'Thousand Years of Charm': Exploring the Aesthetic Characteristics of the Mount Tai Landscape from the Cross-Textual Perspective | With accelerating urbanization, Mount Tai is increasingly at risk of homogenization with other scenic spots, losing its landscape aesthetic characteristics as 'the Most Revered of the Five Sacred Mountains', which poses a growing threat to the long-term sustainable development of Mount Tai. Accordingly, this study takes texts written by different social groups as the research material and analyses the aesthetic themes and spatial distribution of the elements in the texts to determine the aesthetic characteristics of the Mount Tai landscape from multiple perspectives and long time series. This study complements the research on the Mount Tai landscape, which focuses on specific research material and time. The results of the study can help to raise awareness of the complexity and multiple values of Mount Tai landscapes and have implications for research and practice of other heritage landscapes. | Yu, Ying; Liu, Bing; Ma, Lin; Han, Xin; Jung, Taeyeol | Shandong Agr Univ, Coll Forestry, Dept Landscape Architecture, Tai An 271018, Peoples R China; Shandong Prov Res Ctr Landscape Demonstrat Engn Te, Tai An 271018, Peoples R China; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Landscape Architecture, Daegu 41566, South Korea | 58742619600; 57212538545; 57212534251; 57716224500; 55490551100 | ly7173@sdau.edu.cn;liubingfy@sdau.edu.cn;malin@sdau.edu.cn;ahxdoc@foxmail.com;jungty@knu.ac.kr; | LAND | LAND-BASEL | 2073-445X | 12 | 12 | SSCI | ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES | 2023 | 3.2 | 37.1 | 0.18 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 1 | cross-textual; landscape aesthetics; cluster analysis; spatial distribution; time series | TOURISM; REGION; IMAGE | cluster analysis; cross-textual; landscape aesthetics; spatial distribution; time series | China; Shandong; Tai Shan; cluster analysis; esthetics; landscape change; spatial distribution; sustainable development; time series analysis | English | 2023 | 2023-12 | 10.3390/land12122129 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | A Study on the Advancement of Spatial Maps and the Improvement of the Legal System as a Key Tool for Sustainable National Landscape Planning: Case Study of South Korea | For sustainable, national landscape-planning, this study focused on land cover changes, landscape analysis methods from various perspectives on the landscape, legal system analysis related to landscape planning, and analysis of a basic spatial map for landscape planning. First of all, in Korea the focus is on the aesthetic aspect of the landscape, while foreign countries look at the landscape from multiple perspectives and tried to solve the problem of landscape damage on this basis. Next, looking at the changes in land cover, it was found that the urbanized area increased significantly, but the area of agricultural land and wetlands decreased significantly due to development plans. In addition, looking at the contents of the landscape plan in terms of the legal system, the legal system of the Republic of Korea included a multifunctional aspect of the landscape, but the contents were only at the level of policy suggestions. Finally, through a review of a basic spatial map for landscape planning, it was found that among various basic spatial maps, the biotope map is highly likely to be used when establishing national landscape plans. The results of this study are meaningful in that they have not only established the concept of landscape in terms of multifunctionality but also established improvement measures in terms of legal and institutional aspects and the basic spatial map. | Cho, Hyun-Ju; Kim, Jin-Hyo; Lee, Eun-Jae | Daegu Univ, Dept Landscape Architecture, Gyongsan 38453, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Landscape Architecture, Daegu 41566, South Korea; Daejeon Sejong Res Inst, Dept Spatial Environm Lab, Daejeon 34051, South Korea | 56038042700; 57226774198; 35239953600 | hjcho@daegu.ac.kr;jhkim85@knu.ac.kr;wildlife@dsi.re.kr; | LAND | LAND-BASEL | 2073-445X | 12 | 5 | SSCI | ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES | 2023 | 3.2 | 37.1 | 0 | 2025-06-25 | 0 | 0 | land-cover change; perspective of landscape; basic spatial map; legal system; sustainable landscape planning | LAND-USE; WETLANDS; SCALE; PATCH | basic spatial map; land-cover change; legal system; perspective of landscape; sustainable landscape planning | South Korea; land cover; landscape planning; legal system; mapping; national planning; sustainable development | English | 2023 | 2023-05-11 | 10.3390/land12051044 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | |||
| ○ | ○ | Article | Developing an LADM Valuation Information Model for Mongolia | Modern land/property valuation practice requires three-dimensional (3D) valuation, which is crucial to better valuate and assess values of property units. However, conventional land/property valuation systems primarily exist in 2D form, which hinders the accurate valuation of buildings, condominiums and land. The present study introduces the first step toward establishing an advanced land/property valuation system in Mongolia, where it is urgent to meet such requirements. We examined relevant Mongolian geospatial standards and documents, those related to land valuation (i.e., cadastral parcels and buildings), and a valuation information model, which is based on the ISO 19152:2012 Land Administration Domain Model (LADM), with the aim of developing an LADM Valuation Information Model country profile for Mongolia. After the in-depth analysis of the data model of both the LADM Valuation Information Model and the national geospatial relevant standards, we proposed the LADM Valuation Information Model country profile as a conceptual model. Our study results demonstrate how the LADM Valuation Information Model can be adapted to the Mongolian land administration system. Our findings can be used to serve a reference data model to construct 3D land/property valuation systems for efficient valuation of land (e.g., mass appraisal) and taxation purposes. | Buuveibaatar, Munkhbaatar; Lee, Kangjae; Lee, Wonhee | Kyungpook Natl Univ, Res Inst Artificial Intelligent Diag Technol Multi, Sangju 37224, South Korea; Kyungpook Natl Univ, Dept Locat Based Informat Syst, Sangju 37224, South Korea | ; Buuveibaatar, Munkhbaatar/ISU-9533-2023 | 57219182724; 56040328200; 57190774365 | munkh@knu.ac.kr;kasbiss@knu.ac.kr;wlee33@knu.ac.kr; | LAND | LAND-BASEL | 2073-445X | 12 | 4 | SSCI | ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES | 2023 | 3.2 | 37.1 | 0.9 | 2025-06-25 | 5 | 5 | Land Administration Domain Model (LADM); ISO 19152; LADM Valuation Information Model; immovable property valuation; Mongolian LADM Valuation Model country profile | immovable property valuation; ISO 19152; LADM Valuation Information Model; Land Administration Domain Model (LADM); Mongolian LADM Valuation Model country profile | Mongolia; administration; land management; numerical model; property market; standard (regulation); three-dimensional modeling; valuation | English | 2023 | 2023-04 | 10.3390/land12040893 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 | 바로가기 |
